Firm Up A Sagging Rear End! SumoSprings Coil Helper Install

- Опубликовано: 4 окт 2024
- My friend Kristofer helps me install SumoSprings Coil Helpers on my Honda CRV. I highly recommend SumoSprings Coil Helpers if you tow with a small SUV. These help keep your car from bottoming out over bumps when carrying a heavy load or towing.

LOL! You're funny! Now you aren't a member of the saggy bottom boys. ; - )
Kristofer is a great friend Bex!
A BIG thank you to Kristofer for all his help. I'm glad you're getting this work done; makes it safer for you, Bex.
Can't have your Honda popping a squat. Glad to see a video from you Bex.
Bex, I laughed til I pee’d myself! I really needed that today! And I know there are lots of thingamajigs and their owners who are thanking you! Thanks, Kristofer and Ren!
There are days when it feels like my thingamajig and my whatchamacallit has dragged! So good to see a video! Safe travels!
Ran across your video as I am interested in installing Sumo Spring helpers on my 2012 Honda CRV. It is towed behind my RV, and I added a receiver hitch and bike rack. Thank you for your video, and it is heartening to see another female traveler. 🙂
Hi Bex, I’ve had car repair shops give me the business, as well. It’s infuriating. Why don’t they just say, we don’t want to do it! I can live with that. At any rate, it’s always good to see you. I wish Ren/Rand was still traveling with you some of the time. The two of you girls have fun together. And, that’s fun to watch. Take care, pretty girl!! ♥️🙏🏼♥️
My suggestion is to buy or rent a 1/2" impact wrench (battery, electric, air, whatever..) for Kristofer before sending him under your car to get those bolts loose. Otherwise you risk yanking the car off the jacks or at the least a lot of cussing and banging of knuckles, elbows and other parts trying to get enough leverage to wrestle the bolts loose while laying in cramped positions under the car. I noticed you measured the height of the body over the rear axle. Do the same for both front wheels and measure all again after hooking up the Casita (on flat level ground) to see what that tongue weight is doing to your suspension. If the front measurement is higher with the Casita hooked up, you need to look into a weight distribution hitch to bring it back down.
Hi Bex, where O where have U been girl?? Do hope U are "OK" & having FUN,... stay safe, God bless,.... (SO GOOD to see U, Bex)
Bex - had to comment when you said "really pissed me off". While your feller did some hard work helping you in this outfit, he demonstrated the most perfect way to break a lug nut off your axle when stepping on a "four way". Food for thought.
It's so wonderful when we find someone willing to help. It's a beautiful thing for sure. "This house is clean." Poltergeist! One of my favorite movies ever!
Howdy Bex! I thought Sumo Springs was a watering hole in Japan.😒😋
Great thingamajig's & awesome help - (shout out to your friend!👍). Cheers!
LoL I'm glad you are able to be more comfortable with your ear end 😁
Yes, a comfortable rear end is super important!! 🤣🤣❤️❤️
Loved the Sandhill Cranes at the end....and your humor is awesome! 👍
missed you! glad you're back!
So glad to see your posting. Have been missing seeing your adventures.
read the line.... they make bra's for the butt now? Glad you explained! WHEW ! LMAO
First, its great to see a video from you again... thank you. Now about those service guys, they suck. If you need service done they should do it, its cheaper than buying a new car. I tell my service guy if its on the manufactures list say do it don't worry about the cost, again it will be cheaper than buying a new car. Sorry for the rant.
Spring cleaning !!!
I've missed you glad too see you are doing well
Great to see you Bex! Service Depts . . . . ? . . . Leave a lot to be desired. Sorry for your troubles, but @ least now you know how to do the repair (w/the help of a great friend - Christopher). Your car has been an amazing vehicle for you all this time 👏
Great to see you post again! Did not know those things even existed. Wish they make something to hold my rear up,lol. You look great and thank God for good friends with car skills! Be Blessed always!
You are hilarious! Love your adventures. Please upload more.
Kristofer is a good friend, indeed!
Having a friend help with car repairs can be so important when one lives on a fixed income...
This was an interesting video, Bex!
Thank you both! God bless you both!
See you around! I’m onWord, onward and upward bound!
Always do your own research. Informative video. Glad your doing well!
Hey Bex great to hear from you. Loved the humor! 👍🏻❤️
LOL~ Love your opening🤣
I had never heard of SUMO Springs Coil helpers👍👍 Thanks for putting their info in your description!
Sorry to hear about all your mechanic troubles... glad you found that sweet young man to help you out...God is good!!!
Love your videos, keep em comin !! 👍🏼
Interesting, I'm going to look into this for my Lexus. Thank you.
That's a new interpretation of "Spring Cleaning" lol!
Thanks for this, as I'll likely add a similar thing to my minivan once I get my little trailer renovated and back on the road.
Bex always great to see a video from you.
I always stay right with my Dad when he worked on my car. My brothers would tell my Dad what needed to be done and then take off.
I always learnt so much about my car when I hung around. I miss him.
Glad you have someone to work on your vehicles.
Take care!
Hi Bex, good to see you again. Be careful with the install f the "thingamajig". Lol. Oh brother, a service writter that wouldn't even look at what you asked, that's ridiculous.
Good to see you
I was just at Rockhound State Park, Deming, NM. I took my dog on 2-4 walks around the loop each day. Being on a hill, I noticed butt muscles and firmed up tush by the end of 4 days. Amazing change so quick. Even more than doing squats.
I put some of them on my Honda Element. Actually friends did it for me as my hands are not as strong as they used to be. Did it at this year,'s van aid in Quartzsite area. It helped level it out so the front end is a bit lower and the rear higher. But use exterior rated zip ties, when you do it.
Yep, your rear end looks firmer.
Good to see you, great video, hilarious intro :)
With the jigamajig and the thingamajig having new connections, your gonculator should combobulate in perfect harmony!!
You just related the 2nd story of a mechanic shop refusing to do needed work that I’ve heard of in the last 3 days. Both shops were out west. This baffles me.
Great to see you.
Thank you!! :-)
Well the first thing is nice hearing from you. I also loved how you described all the work being done on your car with all the correct terminology. Got a few laughs out of that. Just a note, the man in the previous comment suggested an impact wrench. I bought a battery 1/2 inch impact wrench for my truck just in case I had to change a tire. I suggest you get one also and you will surely need it if you do the front suspension yourself. Have a great day.
I'm just looking at your door and how well the pinstripe lines up, almost as if it closes and locked properly. 😀
😅🤣😅🤣 good intro.... I have never heard of them...
I definitely love the idea! Concerned about how long those zip ties will last though, just remember to check those during tire rotations 🌞
Hi, I was thinking the same thing seems like zip ties might break ? Good day
Didn't really think of that but will keep an eye on them now. :-)
The plastic zip ties would be a real worry for me too. Check often and stay safe.
YAY! So good to see you!
What a wonderful friend that was super helpful Bex. I never want my thing-a-ma-jig ever dragging on the ground or just blowing in the wind for sure 😏 That watch-a-call-it is so helpful in those precarious situations. It will be wonderful when all of the parts are replaced which will help you have a much better ride for sure. Sorry to hear about those jerks at the repair shops. I try to avoid them by working on my cars when I was younger. Great to hear from you Bex. Safe travels.
I truly hate it when my thing-a-majig flaps in the wind, so annoying! 😜 👍🌈
I just loved the last few seconds. Wish you’d do more of this.
Good to see you. Glad you got what you needed on your car. I am sure many of those mechanics either didn't want to or couldn't do what you wanted.
First off long time no see, get out here more often, we miss you. Nice job on repairs, or upgrades, looks like its time. thank you, ALL stay safe
Hi Bex!
In Nascar during a race the pit crew members will insert spring rubbers which are similar to the Sumo rubbers. This apparently makes the car easier to drive.
Spring Cleaning! It does feel good to get new parts...and have them make an improved difference. Happy trails.
i put an hrg 2 inch lift on my honda a year ago and love it !
Oh, which Honda do you have? Very little info on 3rd gen CR-V. I do have the 1 inch spacers installed now and need to edit that video, but I'm super happy with the added height in the rear now.
@@BexCatherder it is a Honda element, same drive train as a crv
Sorry, I thought it said filming up my rear end. lol
🤣nice to see you Bex
Nice job
Hi 👋 from Tennessee. Great seeing a video from you. Been quite awhile. Great idea for your suspension. Thank for sharing and have a great day.
Great video thank you!
I love your videos beautiful soul
Changing your suspension set-up can make you think you have a different car. And I have had service managers treat me the same way, and I'm a 6-3, 250lb guy. Take care, and may God bless.
My vehicle is a 97 4Runner.
I love it and have been wondering about stiffening the rear.
Now I know.
Thank you.
Great to see you again. Very interesting video. Great job .hope to see more soon. Stay safe and enjoy your life
Always a pleasure watching your videos Next. I want to say I'm sorry for your frustration with mechanics. I have not owned a vehicle for over two years because of such BS. My insurance provides a ride to my eye doctor-never got an eye exam-took too long to enter my info to computer. Taken to the dentist for cleaning-was handed a bill for $140 for x-rays & anesthesia-ride came to get me without getting teeth cleaned. Moral of our story. If it needs done-do it yourself!! Or keep it from flapping in the wind or dragging on the ground. May God have mercy on us all 🙏✌️🌎💞 PS. I have truly missed your videos 👏
Hi, I’m glad to see a new video 😀l like the information never knew about the spacer springs 👍best of luck Cathy O
Keep a close eye on those springs. You've left half the springs unsupported and these outside halves may now be doing all the work. As they're made for half as much effort, they may fail early. Picking up some new beefier springs asap and carrying them around would be wise.
I see you did, not gonna delete because engagement.
Love your videos :)
Search for women/female owned auto shops. I feel so much better at these places. The prices where I go are cheaper than the dealership and the repairs actually last. I know you move about so I cannot recommend any place to you in particular. Good luck with hunting on line for female owned auto shops. I hope I've set you up for a better experience and not a bad one.
Cool Kristofer Travels.. Do you still drink Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer?
Omg. That Gresham service guy😡! What was his problem? So wrong.
And the other guy. Did he know you haul a trailer all over the country? Glad you got er done with the help of your friends👍🏻😀
See Rainman Ray’s Repairs videos on RUclips. He showed how he deals with all kinds of challenges in suspension repairs. I learned a lot watching his videos.
Lol nothing like your thingamagig flapping around. Check out your whosiwhatits next. Love ya.
I have heard of similar complaints about other Honda dealers, I just don't understand why that is.
That's why I don't take no crap from any service people I'm paying for it so do it out give me your service manager. It's my car so what I'm asking you to do. Period point blank!!!
Where has Ren been..long time no see.
💞
Great to see ya! Did you consider air springs as well?
The simplicity of these really made them something to try out without much hassle. :-)
Bex, do not put the sumo helpers back in with the new coilovers and 1inch lift. they are garbage and will ruin your new coil overs by spreading the coils unevenly on each side. you will not need them if you have the one inch lift. Not only will it bend you coils, it will raise it and your axles will wear out faster plus possible damage to the seals.
Sandhill cranes...
When its under dealer warranty, you have to put up with them dodging services for your car. They'd rather wait until you're out of warranty. That way they can say, "well, you should've gotten this done or that yadda yadda imma fathead".
Hahaha, GOT ME !!!
😀
I hate for a mechanic to patronize me because I'm female. I've started doing all the research before I go then tell them what I want and watch them do it.
i got that all the time cause we r woman then they only one to do easy part cause when we had a car over 150m they dint want bored to fixin.,
It should be on her receipt what they did and what needs to be done even if they refused to do it. Seems odd they didn't want to steal her money as this is why they exist, unless they were so overbooked they had to turn away business.
Lol
They treat women like that all the time.
13:15 The guy you mentioned might not be a service guy? It is most likely a wannabe service guy who knows next to nothing
I hate when men assume you don't know what your car needs because your a woman 😒
