yeah "outstanding" job, sanding the crankshaft with sandpaper, dropping the heads and block like it's a lego piece, no measurements for the cranshaft bearing, no new hardware... i can keep going, but the truth is, that it's a bad job, the engine will knock from day 1 and it will burn a LOT of oil. but it's the reality they live in, trash everywhere, rebuilding an engine in a dirt road...

It looks so crude, dirty, and unsafe, but these guys should all be applauded for disassembling every little nut and bolt, cleaning it, and reassembling everything to specifications. Great job men!!! Next I would like to see the laundry video!
No need any wiring diagram, No photo taken when taking things apart, No write down what goes where, No sound of air compressor, No power tool, No jack, No hoist, No glove, No eye protection, no running water to spray the engine, but a small water truck came by for water source. This is a world class mechanic. If you watch America restoration, they will have a big shop with all kinds of tools. They will replace everything new. These guys are doing manually with basic tools and bare hand. Make me very interest to watch and just found this channel. Job well done.
Comparing this to restorations in America is pointless. These guys would replace everything with new parts if they could, but obviously cost is an issue. They did a fine job with what they have.
I applaud the efforts by young men in this hard work but working conditions are very poor. Some of the workers look under 16 years of age. They are spraying a cleaning agent and cleaning with bare hands.

they chose that life, they're extremely radical, they don't attend schools, they elect religious people in power. I would imagine for many of us Western world people,the heat alone would be difficult to work in doing repairs..These boys aren't even breaking a sweat..😮
@Dadadu16 turbocharged diesel engines have been around since 1925, and the patent has been around 1905. Do some research before embarrassing yourself, bud. The most archaic part of this engine is the sidevalve "cam in block"/pushrod valve setup, that has been around since the days of WW1. Not powerful, but easy to maintain and reliable. The motor itself is impressive, and proof in itself that 100 year old technology is more reliable than lots of the more powerful modern equivalents.
The engine is assembled professionally! this is not an engine from a passenger car, which can be put on a table in a sterile room, such motors are only assembled in this way, it weighs several tons! The reason for the breakdown was that the compression rings and oil removal rings were broken, probably due to overheating or shitty diesel fuel. And the engine switched to running on its own oil. There is no need to bore the casings and replace the porches. It will work well!!! And yet, it doesn't matter how much dirt the engine was disassembled, it's important that everything was washed before the assembly!!! Guys, good luck to you, and take care of your feet))))
That's pretty good considering what they have to work with. That's a lot of work. The machine shop guys had a little bit more of up-to-date tools. I would give them all an "A". They did the job with minimal resources and at the ending fired the engine up.

Retired diesel mechanic of 45 years, I admired their skills, but a cleaner environment would have been nice. Simple hand tools still have their place as they are a little slower than nice air or battery tools. Not everyone has the luxury of polished floors and air conditioning. There are many mechanics out there who would have done the rebuild the same way, the Tripod and block and tackle brought back memories.

I've been a mechanic for 40 some years. Never have seen engines rebuilt like this. Yeah, if you're stranded out in the middle of nowhere, that's understandable. 🤔
You will never see how long these engines will last after they put it back together. Look nice and lots respect but i think they are done within a year.
Teamwork. I worked on oil rigs for 40 years. Rebuilt my share of Cat and EMD engines. Wish I had these guys working with me.

Don't talk seit. Even there they use cranes and Lifting devices so they can use a metal sheet and a broom to have a clean dirtfree assembling place!!

Retired diesel mechanic of 45 years, I admired their skills, but a cleaner environment would have been nice. Simple hand tools still have their place as they are a little slower than nice air or battery tools. Not everyone has the luxury of polished floors and air conditioning. There are many mechanics out there who would have done the rebuild the same way, the Tripod and block and tackle brought back memories.
The title says the engine failed due to dirt.. no better place to rebuild it than the Dirt.. 🤣😂

I’m always amazed at the work these guys do, how they make do with the simplest of tools and have the knowledge to rebuild any engine is unbelievable.

I've been a mechanic for 40 some years. Never have seen engines rebuilt like this. Yeah, if you're stranded out in the middle of nowhere, that's understandable. 🤔

You will never see how long these engines will last after they put it back together. Look nice and lots respect but i think they are done within a year.
Third time it’s been rebuilt this week! Warranty claim is still pending!
Warranty support is all tricks to earn ...it always fails after the end of the warranty. Learn from them
