Wintersun has easily become one of our favorite bands. We can't believe it took us 2 weeks to do another video. We will try to get to more of their videos in future weeks, until we run out of material. These guys are incredible!!!

I feel like this song was waaaaaay ahead of its time. It took me about two years to begin to appreciate it. It's only gotten better ever since. Now in 2024 and Time II finally being released this song comes back to haunt me in the best possible way. While I firmly believe that "The Way of the Fire" well be my all time favorite song, easily, "Time" is just nearly as good
"Time" as a track is often overlooked in the discussion of the best Wintersun song, but it's hands down their masterpiece IMO (But who knows, maybe I'll change my mind in a few days when Time 2 drops)
Wintersun-day starts Sept 10th and we have also been tweeting all metal DJs in North America at Satellite Radios that play metal and ask them to get Wintersun on rotation and
show melodeath and this band some love. We need to get these guys on american airwaves.

This song is indeed amazing, I recommand their new song "Loneliness(winter)'. The vocals and atmosphere in this song are truly wonderful.

Great! You should really do that one next, it's a ballad where you can really hear how amazing Jari's vocals are. His best vocal performance to date. I think it's the most beautiful song in the world. Incredibly emotional and powerful with a strong message. Jari has put up the newest album in full with lyric videos on his youtube channel. You will absolutely love it ^^

In case you missed it, the drummer is called Kai Hahto. Met him once, a really super duper nice guy! He plays in Nightwish as well...
This is propably my favorite song from Wintersun, pure epicness all the way. Got the opportunity to see them live for the first time last weekend, just an amazing show!! You should definitely do the "Wintersun Sunday" thing :D

Those rehearsal videos were actually part of a bonus DVD for their second album Time I. There's one more rehearsal video (Land of Snow and Sorrow) so maybe you want to watch that one next. You definitely have to check out some of their old stuff as well, some shorter, fast and crazy songs. I recommend Winter Madness or Starchild, there are some pro shot live videos of these songs from their show at Summer Breeze 2017.
We definitely want to get the live rehearsals covered first. I think what we will do after that is alternate new song with an older live one. But either way we are going to get around to do them ALL!!!!

Wintersun is my favorite band. They're incredible. And yeah...if you get the chance to see them live, you really should. Their shows are fun as hell. Sound just like they do on the album and the crowd gets super into it. The show I went to, they played the album Time I in its entirety and a few songs from their first album.
Also, FYI - the video you watched was kinda messed up. That muffled sound at the beginning was a glitch in the video. The song on the album is a lot clearer at the beginning.
I think that sound issue added to the epicness of the video!!! lol
Depending on the day, I actually sometimes prefer this intro over the album version.
I'm the same way...for whatever reason, I actually like the screwed up audio at the beginning...it makes it even more epic when the guitars come in.

"Hey guys!" Excellent video as always. These guys are quickly becoming a band I like along with Alestorm, Demons and Wizards, Helloween, Running WIld and a number of other metal bands. You are quite right, these guys paint a very descriptive picture with their music. Some parts are dark and mysterious, and other parts really are quite beautiful. Cheers!

Guys they made an amazing show a few days ago at Summer Breeze, I really recommend you to check them out ! Try to listen Winter Madness (mind blowing solo) or some songs of the new record like Awaken from the Dark Slumber or Eternal Darkness (they played live for the first time)
We want check those out for sure. By the way any word if they will be hitting North America for a tour?

You should do the same for the first Ensiferum album, that album is one of the most perfect album ever made. From start to finish. Token of time, Old man (one of my favorite song ever), Little Dreamer, Treacherous Gods (again an amazing song!). Jari is simply the best!

Official videos for the songs of the debut album don't exist but plenty of fan videos do. You should not miss those songs either. Although much lower in production value, the songs shine bright!

All I can say is Wintersun and Wolfheart are coming to my town in a couple of weeks. I couldn't be any happier about the bands and the location. I am so hyped. The last show of these Wintersun by request gigs. I am pretty sure you guys would be stoked as well if Wintersun and Wolfheart would be the lineup.

Our goal is to cover their latest album over the next 4 weeks and then go back to some of their other work.

Unfortunately this exact verson of the song was perfect before youtube screwed it up because of a copyright matter or i don't know what. In the beggining there are many guitar sounds that you couldn't hear because of that issue, the drums seemed loud and exactly at 2:56 of the video the sound turned louder and cleaner (Judging from your reaction, you seemed to be impressed but in the reality you couldn't enjoy the true beauty of this performance). I tried to upload the same version because i still have it but they once again f**ked it up.
This so called copyright issue in sound is well known in youtube these days, or should i say, commercial tube? :)

The sound at the start of the video was the intro that was screwed by the guis at Nuclear Blast studios, they said it in a text annotation right at the beginning. Check their first album called "Wintersun" - 2004, and their latest "The Forest Seasons" - 2017.

I don't know if you know, but before Wintersun Jari used to play and sing in a band called Ensiferum. He was on the first two albums ('Ensiferum' and 'Iron').
There propably isn't any videos of that era though.

We have been busy doing request that we have stopped doing bands we really like so we will start dividing the time better with half the videos in the week being requests and the other half bands we love like Sabaton, Wintersun, Arch Enemy, Jinjer, Infected Rain and COB just to name a few. But next week is all requests but they are all awesome.

You should do some reactions from their first album self titled- Wintersun. Jari Maenpaa, the singer, wrote the first album by himself. He played everything but the drums. He had the same drummer kai Hahto for that. The problem is videos are limited for that album.. But do Winter Madness or beyond the dark sun at least
Apparently Jari no longer plays guitar live which is sad...
We will back track to it.
Why? He is so good.
He said it was just too difficult to play & sing at the same time live. He puts so much emotion into his vocals, and the guitar parts in these songs are just insane (both rhythm & lead) that he felt both the vocals and guitar playing suffered a little during live shows.

I think reaction videos are dumb personally. These days I get loads of reaction videos suggested to me whenever I listen to a Wintersun song despite never having watched one (until just now to check if I’m somehow wrong in my avoidance). I don’t understand why somebody would waste time listening to a version of a song being talked over while somebody gives an exaggerated and obviously opinionated response to it :s why does it matter what someone else thinks of a song? Music is subjective as heck so I don’t see what’s to gain. If you like it then that’s all that matters. I suspect but don’t know that most of the viewers of these videos are people who have already listened to and like the music reacted to, so making these is an easy way of getting a ton of views. Just sit there and ruin a song. Each to their own though and this is just my opinion obviously. No offence meant :)
Checked the pin post....obviously Jari likes our videos and has watched them...but look if you don't like them don't watch them. I don't like Wendy's, but I don't go through the drive thru and take that opportunity to tell them how much I dislike them.
I don't know if I like something until I try it. I'm currently watching the interview video and enjoying it. I came from that to this video part way through. No offense was meant by my comment as I said, and as I said it's purely my own opinion. Can you please explain what you mean about Jari liking your videos? I never mentioned Jari's opinion and I don't mind if other people think differently to me. It's just an opinion after all.
Sorry that I seem to have offended you. As I said, no offence is meant but obviously that doesn't mean none can be taken :/ It was a comment about my opinion on reaction videos in general due to how subjective music is, not a comment exclusively about your videos. If it helps any for me to state a positive, I'd imagine reaction videos sometimes help people find new music they like which is a good thing, and any sort of content takes time to produce which should be appreciated. I also think it's really nice that this is something you do with your son.
Sorry again for any negative feelings caused. I like people to be happy, not bring people down :/ I can delete my previous comment if it's still bothering you, but personally I think having a range of views on a topic is a good thing. The world would be a very biased place if people only spoke when they held the same view as everyone else.

I may not understand why somebody enjoys something, but that doesn't mean I don't think they should be free to enjoy it. "If you like it then that's all that matters", so long as it isn't harmful in some way :)
