Jari's genius really comes out in that second solo. I don't understand how it's possible for a human to come up with such melodies. It's SO melodic, SO beautiful, yet SO brutal, technical and fast. All the tempo changes, and the tempos blending together, overlapping... like oooh my god. Everything about it just makes your face melt off.
They are probably going to do another NA tour once the next crowdfunding album comes out :)
I hope so, I just hope is not an 19+ show because we want to attend it together
Are they doing another crowdfunding album?
Yes. They have planned 3 crowdfundings to raise enough money to build a studio, but it the first one went so well that there will probably only be one more crowdfunding album before they reach their final goal and can build the studio. Then we will get album after album, which will have a quality of production we have never heard before. Jari will finally be able to create his true vision with his albums.
And we will have endless WintersunDays

Last week we are having our last WintersunDay we are pretty sad about it.
Try immemorial - a chance to live again. Its a song that Jari wrote and recorded basically in his teen years.
A&P-REACTS there will be plenty of Wintersundays in the near future :) the next crowdfunding album maybe next year and then finally Time II in the early 2020's after the headquarters is ready and Jari is able to produce albums rapidly.
Can’t wait next sunday will be our last official WintersunDay for now and we are both so bummed out. Will be doing some Ensiferum and others on future Sundays but its not the same
I still get utterly mesmerized and get the biggest goosebumps (even tears) when listening that second solo, it's the single most incredible musical piece I've ever heard. It's like a glimpse of something divine, beyond our comprehension. The one who recorded this video knew exactly what he was doing by zooming specifically to Jari's guitar during that solo, because it was so special :D And to think that there will be 7 solos in the Time II album, that's quite something, considering there's only one in Time I and one in The Forest Seasons, and a few in the debut album so that's amazing on its own right.

Teemu once said in an Interview that Jari wrote enough songs for 4 to 5 more albums and since their Crowdfunding went better than expected both, Wintersun and the fans, will have a great future.
I heard Jari mention in an interview or a facebook post or something before Time 1 was released that he probably has like 7 albums worth of finished-ish material, and like 12 albums worth of things that could become albums... I think the last part of his process is usually to write the lyrics for the songs, and that he finishes composing all the instruments first.

Iirc it was a post on Facebook, on 2014, when he was having trouble with NB. I think it was before he starts producing The Forest Seasons. Maybe when he was finishing The Forest That Weeps (since he started playing it early 2015).
He said he has material for at least 5 albums
watching this song brings back awesome memories! having seen them perform this song on one of their special guest performance on the 2011 heidenfest show after waiting for five years to see them because i sadly couldn't attend their 2006 tour witch was the last time before that they played in my country!

There's still "Immemorial" which is kind of proto-wintersun. It's Jari's solo project from '97, which he later refined into Wintersun.
We have one more WintersunDay next week, it will be the last one until new material comes out!

It's still insane that it could very well take 7 years still before we finally get to hear the studio version of this. A song that has been performed live since 2011
I had some funny discussions with the guys about Time 2. Jari is a perfectionist so he will take his time, but I feel we are closer to hearing some new material from them, either be Time 2 or something else, Time will tell.

The second solo really feels like Jari is fighting for his life for us. He's literally the metal Jesus.

Even though we havent heard the studio version yet, I would say this song is probably the best from Wintersun.
This is hands down my absolute favorite song by this band ever since I've been a fan...which makes total and perfect sense that it's still currently an unreleased song lol. There's just something about it that's just hmm, idk, SONICALLY PERFECT. Everything about this song kicks ass, and the fact that's eventually/hopefully going to open up the Time II album is just...a musical wet dream waiting to happen hahahaha.
I too have had a "we're not worthy" moment. Back during their previously last North American tour in 2013, I ran into (and by "ran into", I mean RAN down the street once I realized that that Teemu Mantysaari was 50 yards ahead of me walking towards the venue in Cambridge, to which I caught up to him, paid my respects, shook his hand, and managed to get a picture in which I look absolutely downright awful in lol. They put on one hell of a show afterward though, the best of the three time that I've seen em. Starkill, Arsis, Fleshgod Apocalypse, and Wintersun headlining. I was a damn good night to say the least lol

I wish I could experience the Time II album the first time with you guys :) It almost feels like we've known each other for a bit of time. Don't get any ideas however, I've had plans to make reaction videos of the album on my own and not get spoiled beforehand (shit's gonna be extremely difficult). Would be cool to meet you some time however :) Ideally in a Wintersun gig. Oh how I wish I could be there with you when you see them the first time. I've seen them 4 times and it's always been truly incredible. I hold a special honorable memory and pride of being one of the very first ones to hear the Time I album played live in a public gig in Jyväskylä 2012 a bit before the album was released. It was sooo epic! I got to meet the band and I said Jari that I was a bit disappointed that they didn't play "The Way of the Fire", but daaaaamn that "Sons of Winter and Stars" was beyond incredible! Also I thanked him for turnning this pop and dance loving guy into a metal head with his incredible music :D
I can't wait for that release. Maybe we could skype you in for the first video and we could watch it for the first time together. That would be cool.

I have been waiting for 6 fucking years for this song to come out, seen it live 2 or 3 times. I still remember the first time and how rare it is for you to fall in love with a song you hear for the first time in a live setting. Both of the solos are fucking incredible and perhaps the biggest reason me and many others were so disappointed by the lack of solos on Time I and FS. Ok, here is an idea for you, like April fools joke or something. That older guy who seems to pick the songs. I see you use headphones. Why not trick the kid. Put a different song playing. V: The New Mythology Suite is probably the best album. Evolution, Fallen, The Death Of Balance, Egypt, Fool's Paradise. So many good tracks. That album is also meant to be listened to start to finish. Each track flows to the next with no breaks. Very good album.

Hi guys! You are lot of fun and i like to watch your videos. Offcourse like everyone else i have request for you. Few videos and bands from Finland.
First one is Ajattara and the song is Suru (means sorrow or grief). Why? Well first thing is that i filmed that video in Finnish summer festival. Finnish summer i so beautiful. I'm kinda glad they haven't announced a North American tour for The Forest Seasons yet. They recently announced another European tour, but that means we can wait until Kai Hahto is back in the band and bringing his drumming mastery back to the band! Without Kai Hahto, this band is not the same.
Maybe late 2018 they will come, I would be surprised if they don't come to NA in 2018 at all.
They're playing Wacken in 2018, so I'd expect an autumn or winter NA tour. Not before that.

I feel bad that I've already seen them twice in Toronto, and you haven't :( I met them during their soundcheck at the second show. If there isn't a VIP offering, I may just pass down a gift from the band to you and your son :)

Oh man, this is the wrong media but I just would like to let Jari know he is so much better guitar player than singer. He should concentrate on making the songs at and let others sings. If Wintersun could score a vocalist like Tomi Joutsen they would be unstobale. But such is, it wont work when Jari quits guitars...
