    You gotta have that budget and...your partner has gotta be on board! My wife is all for me buying a trawler and moving aboard but she said she's staying with her mom until I come back😂

    Got a slip in Key West for 1,350 per month 36' boat. Garrison Bight... The crazy thing is an RV site is 3x that much.

    Keys and Bahamas are expensive, more like vacation boating. PNW is quite a bit cheaper, way more protected waters to live on the hook. No need for A/C, so electrical needs are much less, you do need heat in winter, and most run diesel heaters. If ya want to live aboard cheap, cut the grocery bill buy eating off the sea, and forage on land, use solar powered lights at night instead of your boats battery. You can live on the hook pretty reasonable if your not running alll over the place everyday, find a nice inlet, spend a week exploring the area and chill.move a few miles to the next inlet/fiord and do the same. Set out traps for crabs and prawns, there’s plenty to do to fill your days. If you want to live on a boat much like you did in a home, have all the amenities your used to, then yes it’s gonna cost, most likely more then you paid to live in a home on land. PNW and the inside passage imo are the best cruising grounds in the US. The loop I guess for some is a bucket list item, for me cruising the loop viewing rusted out hulks of past industry, dirty waterways and all the dang people just is not for me. Best to all on there dream

      I agree, anything is possible, you can cut cost. Southern Estate happens to be very cost friendly and she has everything set up to run off solar. Still needs a little help but getting close. But your right you can live if you don’t have a boat payment cheaper

    For people that are inexperienced or don’t know what they’re doing. This is pretty much the best video you could ever watch. These guys are straight up and awesome. I learned stuff from them all the time. Captain Paul is the man if it’s gonna happen it’s gonna happen out there.

    I learned stuff from Paul every time I talk to him if you connect with him he will help you with everything from the ground up. Trust me I’m so glad that 2 1/2 years ago I trusted him and bought my boat with him.

    Lots of good information here that I was looking for, I mean I've been subscribed from the beginning but I'm still working my way to the keys in my grand banks 36, we left in September, I'm near Savannah at kilkenny marina.just had props straightened and balanced, new cutlass bearings etc. I think I need valves adjusted on my twin Lehmans, I mean it's due

      Love Kilkenny, that restaurant is actually very good, how about that dock boss. No problem happy to help you with the valves when you get here. Call Brian and get us some gaskets for the valve cover 👍🏻 God Bless and see you soon.

    You brought up an interesting subject. The different type of living of a boat with the associated cost.

    • @NoRegretsLifestyle
      @NoRegretsLifestyle  11 месяцев назад +1

      There is a couple ways of looking at it. But the guy who wants to stay at a marina it’s going to cost more but if you live on the hook like we did for three months it was much cheaper. Thanks for watching God Bless.

    I was a commercial fisherman for 45 years, and would love to do the loop etc. biggest problem is my wife of 33 years gets chronically sea sick and hates boats. She has probably only been on the dock ten times and stood on my boat twice, only once at sea in 33 years. We have missed a lot of boating fun because of this, but such is life.

      I personally don’t drink so that saves a lot and we eat in mostly. But we do eat out once in a while and yes it cost money 💰

    Curious why you’re going to sell your boat? Are you moving up? Or moving ashore?
