Because even middle school coaches would scoff at this advice. You want to cut a player’s route off, you take wide lateral lunges and drag your lagging foot along to your new position.
@@paulallenscards i think he is referring to the first sequence where they were turning and running, that is where you get crossed up cause your feet aren’t planted and a player with quick burst gonna dribble past you immediately on the zig.

That is the women's coach at Texas. They went 26-10 last season and he coached the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year. He is a two time NCAA D1 coach of the year. He has coached on an NCAA champion, three championship games, 4 final fours, 8 elite eights and 11 Sweet 16s. He has almost 400 wins at D1 (377) with a .655 winning percentage. I think he knows what he is doing a little better than you do.
@@hshaughnessy17 women's basketball is all you had to say. BTW, I played under Coach Gene Bess, the winningest coach in college history 1300 wins 416 loses. @@ICantBelieveItsNotJesus Coach Bess is a great coach. But it just shows that there is more than one way to coach the same things. Just because Coach Bess does it one way, doesn't mean another way is wrong.
The idea is correct but the way he is doing it will get you crossed the F up. The girls did it right. That’s also how I have always seen this drill done.
Y’all just don’t know, this defense is the proper way to be taught lol. It has won chips on so many levels just being able to slide and apply pressure like that full court. 2-3 press, 1 3 1 press, box n 1 press, man to man press, zone press 😂🤣🔥🔥 niggas done it all fam.

This is a video tutorial on "how to become a someone's highlight reel"
Somebody wit quick handles do a double crossover their dropping 😂🤷🏾♂️💯
Eyes on the belly button. Best defender on my team. If you watch the center of the body, there’s no fooling you.
Thank you for understanding this.

Bro's tryna put his players on a highlight reel 😂 Their asses bouta get crossed out the gym with that technique!
Put down the games. Time to run some drills kid! Love it❤. Basketball Intelligence.
This is a big bag of XL “Depends”. I’ve seen plenty of great on-ball defenders never cross feet, but there are times to do so…
one snatchback and its over😂

i love this because whenever i run this drill it looks like the beginning i need this series
I wish I saw this when I was a kid
They gonna get hit with a "BOP BOP" and fall with the turn and run 😂😂😂
instead of crossing in front and exposing the ball I'd rather just use a spin move or behind the back cross
This is only recommended for those who are not quick
The game of basketball isnt the same this drill helps you in your youth but… you will get crossed up real quick turning & running

I would like to have a coach like him.
Doin that I would cross the fuck outta you lmao
i thought i saw dillion brooks for secy
Kobe used to do this
It’s good hustle but wasting wayy too much stamina just to “slow down” the offense 🤷🏾♂️
Thought it was a dude for the first few seconds until it started dribbling
If u do that thats a dibbler wish me I wuld hit u with a 1 2 have u goin the wrong way but I guess that's beginner defense
This video must be old or the coach. Because anybody I'll get crossed on now days with ya nose on the ball! 😂 gotta watch them hips!

This will not work with a good ball handler. Off balance. Like the concept.
BS... Unless they ain't fast enough. I can side step like crazy... Stop lying.
You only need to do this if you are too slow to slide your feet
