      Vegas got ruined by CALI !
      1)Cost of living went sky high!
      2) gas prices just like California!
      3) people raised in Vegas can’t afford rent in Vegas no more ! Rents now like California!
      4) jobs suck right to work state !
      5) extremely hot 🥵 from May till September! Better have air everywhere!
      6) electric costs insane!
      7) license plates ridiculous! Overcharging on fictional prices of vehicles that are not true msrp!
      8) entertainment expensive!
      9) Taxes on everything went up!
      10) Car insurance double then the national average ! DUI EVERY SINGLE DAY EVERYWHERE!
      11) police state do not get in trouble it will cost you in cash bonds 15 percent if bondsmen! Attorneys ridiculous!
      12) traffic insane city not developed for 2.5 million people! Construction everywhere!
      13) houses doubled from 2018! No front or back (yards) lawns your right on top of people!
      14) not enough public libraries or things for children to do !
      15) school systems stink 47 in the country !
      16) terrible place to raise a family!
      17) do not be 6 days late on rent you can get constable knocking at your door to evict you !
      18) crime ridden city , robbery, murder, drugs, break ins, rape etc !
      19) not a friendly city to many people come and go ! But it now became a suburb of California! Vegas follows California laws ! Getting expensive just like California..
      19) homeless and beggars never stop ! Can’t even get gas to get harassed!
      20) Food prices insane expensive! Nevada does hardly make nothing! All made on gaming and hospitality!
      20) HOAS everywhere that controls your property and ownership
      That’s just 20 ugly things about moving or living in Vegas after still living in Vegas 25 years ! Was a great place in the 90’s ,2000, up till 2010 things got out of control! Bought a new townhouse in 2008 3 bedrooms 2.5 baths 2 car garage in Henderson for 119k now worth 335k insane ! After 2 year’s retirement will move to 55 or older in a much better community for seniors ! Out of state !
      Last Vegas health and Drs the worst of the worst we seem to get all the quacks that come to put their practice here in Henderson not Vegas ! Do not go to hospitals you will wait days in the waiting room to get a room ! Desert springs hospital closed down ! Only sunrise hospital and Umc are equipped to handle life emergency’s and their not equipped to handle all the residents plus the tourists that come to Vegas and drink etc ! So seniors don’t realize that they may need better health care and can’t get it ! You may die waiting for tests etc don’t get sick here they only care about the tourists to get them patched up and out of the city !
      Good things !
      After 5 months heat , you get good weather !
      Plenty of restaurants in casino’s, 24/7 gambling town , better have lots of money you do not want be homeless in Vegas in the summer!
      Peace out -what my family and I experienced in Vegas of 25 years !! Water shortages, lake Meade drying up! No greenery .. better learn some Spanish because Vegas has a population of 60 percent Hispanic! …No state income tax , oh good for taxes on llc for businesses….

    Ok I have lived here 40 years +.
    The first thing that comes to mind when considering about moving to Vegas. If you don’t know somebody or aren’t a specialist in a field that is in need. You might have a job at burger king or a corner store or a Walmart.
    I got into an apartment in 2000 I was paying 700 a month. The same complex has been turned into a condo complex and an 1100 sq ft studio will cost you $2500 per month.

    High cost of auto insurance and gasoline. Something doesn't make sense when regular gas in only $3.27-$3.29 a gallon in Parhump which is 60 miles from Las Vegas. I know Clark County taxes on a few more pennies but you can't tell me it's .40-.50 cents higher. Nevada should go to a no fault state as far as auto insurance. In New Jersey you have to pay a higher insurance rate if you want to sue for "pain and suffering". That is what personal injury lawyers do in Las Vegas. Send the client to chiropractors, specialists even psychiatrists to prove that the victim suffered permanent damage in order to get a big settlement. Then you have the fake accidents along with the stolen vehicles which all contribute to the higher rates.
    Lack of doctors and top notch hospitals. This is really inexcusable consider how much the valley has grown. Plus you have so many southern California people moving here. This should include doctors. Why haven't some of larger hospital corporations looked to build new state of the art facilities and level one trauma centers in Las Vegas. I think one thing that hurts is the lack of universities that are here outside of University of Nevada which results in no medical centers being built affiliated with those schools. The city hasn't kept pace with the population increase. As I posted in another RUclips thread you can always make appointments to see doctors in Los Angeles. If you elect to have surgery done go there if your insurance or medicare coverage allows it. It's not a big deal if you see a specialist twice a year.
    I lived in Las Vegas before and am moving back. The heat is definitely an issue. It has gotten considerably hotter in Las Vegas over the last 20 years. But if you are coming from the Northeast where we have to deal with weeks of rain most of it coming from the Pacific that has hit Los Angeles I can live with the heat. You can't believe how miserable it has gotten in the Winter months. Not as much snow this Winter but just non-stop stretches of rain and if it isn't raining just thick clouds. No sun for a week.
    Road construction. Have to deal with that in the East too. One of the main stretches I use in under construction till 2026. It is 10 miles of roadwork. Can't avoid it. So many businesses that I patronize are located on it including two doctors that I see on an ongoing basis.
    Allergies. I had a problem with them when I lived there before and got shots. Fortunately today there are non-addicting sprays like Astepro that are available OTC. I will get shots again when I move there. Unfortunately even though the Olive and Mulberry trees are banned from being planted the existing trees are still there. The dust and sand also cause problems.

    Interesting, informative video! So your state bird is still the Construction Crane.!? 😱😄. Didn’t know the population had increased so much. Was also not aware that auto insurance was rather costly. Was aware of all your other cautions.
    If there’s such a shortage of doctors, I wonder why the State of Nevada put a nix on Kaiser Permanente a few years ago. I understand Kaiser had signed an intent to purchase the relatively new St. Rose Hospital and planned to add medical offices, etc. to build a top notch care facility on available land around the hospital. Many of us thinking of making the move to LV had to forget about
    doing so including me & my husband. We wanted to leave costly No. CA upon retiring. My hubby passed 8 years ago and I’m still on the fence about a move @ age 79, especially now as I have developed an ongoing medical problem caused by a Black Widow spider bite. I’m so used to the one-stop-shop - been with Kaiser for more than 55 years and know how to navigate within their system.
    Had mostly been looking in zip code ‘074, Henderson/Green Valley. In fact was considering buying my parent’s home there. My youngest sister inherited it but sold it very quickly after mom passed in 2007 as she had a condo of her own in Calif. it was sold to flippers and the first ones made some very nice cosmetic changes. It sold twice more to flippers and the last ones made some really questionable major changes. And that’s when I put the kabosh on buying that house.

    Yeah its shocking and disappointing how car insurance is so much higher here. It doesn't make sense. The insurance company said it's because its a tourist town, yet we have great driving weather and no snow. And we don't deal with tourists living in summerlin.

    • @ilovelivinginlasvegas
      @ilovelivinginlasvegas  8 месяцев назад

      I hear it's a lot higher elsewhere. And I agree it's difficult for sure! We have around 2.3 million residents and around 40 million visit every year, so it probably does have an effect. At least all those visitors help keep taxes down.

    • @jeffmayer6312
      @jeffmayer6312 8 месяцев назад +1

      I work in the insurance industry and whoever told you it’s because of tourists is dead wrong. Rates are high in Vegas because not everyone has high limits. I think the State minimums in NV for liability is super low. That’s why there are so many attorney commercials and billboards. If an accident isn’t your fault and you’re hit by someone who has low limits, your insurance company is going to pick up the difference. The insurance company passes that cost on.

    • @ilovelivinginlasvegas
      @ilovelivinginlasvegas  5 месяцев назад

      It's too much for some haha.
      Here is how we handle the heat in Las Vegas during the hot months.
      1. Do outdoor activities - walking, hiking, golf, pickleball, chores etc in the morning.
      2. Wear lots of sun protection hats sunscreen and sunglasses.
      3. Put fans in your outdoor living area. Some like the water misters but I think those are overkill.
      4. Drink lots of water.
      Everywhere you go indoors is airconditioned, and after some time your body becomes acclimated to the warmer weather.
      It's no big deal after a while.
