High cost of auto insurance and gasoline. Something doesn't make sense when regular gas in only $3.27-$3.29 a gallon in Parhump which is 60 miles from Las Vegas. I know Clark County taxes on a few more pennies but you can't tell me it's .40-.50 cents higher. Nevada should go to a no fault state as far as auto insurance. In New Jersey you have to pay a higher insurance rate if you want to sue for "pain and suffering". That is what personal injury lawyers do in Las Vegas. Send the client to chiropractors, specialists even psychiatrists to prove that the victim suffered permanent damage in order to get a big settlement. Then you have the fake accidents along with the stolen vehicles which all contribute to the higher rates. Lack of doctors and top notch hospitals. This is really inexcusable consider how much the valley has grown. Plus you have so many southern California people moving here. This should include doctors. Why haven't some of larger hospital corporations looked to build new state of the art facilities and level one trauma centers in Las Vegas. I think one thing that hurts is the lack of universities that are here outside of University of Nevada which results in no medical centers being built affiliated with those schools. The city hasn't kept pace with the population increase. As I posted in another RUclips thread you can always make appointments to see doctors in Los Angeles. If you elect to have surgery done go there if your insurance or medicare coverage allows it. It's not a big deal if you see a specialist twice a year. I lived in Las Vegas before and am moving back. The heat is definitely an issue. It has gotten considerably hotter in Las Vegas over the last 20 years. But if you are coming from the Northeast where we have to deal with weeks of rain most of it coming from the Pacific that has hit Los Angeles I can live with the heat. You can't believe how miserable it has gotten in the Winter months. Not as much snow this Winter but just non-stop stretches of rain and if it isn't raining just thick clouds. No sun for a week. Road construction. Have to deal with that in the East too. One of the main stretches I use in under construction till 2026. It is 10 miles of roadwork. Can't avoid it. So many businesses that I patronize are located on it including two doctors that I see on an ongoing basis. Allergies. I had a problem with them when I lived there before and got shots. Fortunately today there are non-addicting sprays like Astepro that are available OTC. I will get shots again when I move there. Unfortunately even though the Olive and Mulberry trees are banned from being planted the existing trees are still there. The dust and sand also cause problems.

Las Vegas doesn't set up for everyone. That said, I have lived all over the country before settling here 22 years ago and I love it here the best! Things have changed a LOT over the years but we're still a small town, and despite some growing pains, I think Las Vegas offers more than ever! Thank you for reaching out 🙏
@@ilovelivinginlasvegas my wife and I are visiting now (after not visiting for years) and I am blown away by how much it has grown! I remember traffic around and on the strip being more manageable. Now, it's giving NY and LA vibes. Having said that, I'm really enjoying our visit and seeing the new attractions and growth.
I ledt when NV energy started price gouging in 2022. My December bill was quadruple than the same time last decmber for less use! Also, Car insurance got a little wild with an increase. It got too crowded for me. I miss a lot of things, have many awesome memories from the 20 years I lived there. It's just not home anymore.
Yes nevada power should be ashamed of themselves... You're from what I understand warren buffett owns it, and he's a greedy, s o b... Very informative video. You are absolutely right about a/c is a must. I lived in different 3 houses during the years I was in Vegas. I had mold in every one of them from the a/c unit.... I'm trying my best to get to move back to beautiful Vegas. Looking forward to your next video 😊

You are welcome! Thank you so much for watching and commenting 🙏 I truly appreciate you. I have another video coming out this week that talks about why the locals love it here so much despite the few issues we have. Hope you watch it ❤🙏
Regarding pollen, the worst I've seen are those dang Sugar Pines! In the Spring, everything is coated with their yellow pollen! Fortunately, with the disappearance of lawns and watering they are dying off (they're water hogs!).
Yes, that yellow pollen can be annoying in thespring time. Though I didn’t experience much this year. I still like the big Pines. Thank you so much for watching. 🙏
@@ilovelivinginlasvegas Thank you too, for your accurate portrayal! You aren't alone in loving those dang trees! I was driving an Uber passenger back to Spanish Trails from McCarran and he was lamenting the loss of their trees off the golf course. I do feel bad for the folks that like'em and I hate to see any tree die. They're part of Nature's way of getting the CO2 out of the air. Thanks again, to you too!

Yes, many of our schools have high ratings. I always recommend that buyers look up the ratings of individual schools and not rely solely on the collective ratings they see.
Sorry but I’ve been living here for 7 years and not one person offers you water for free. Unfortunately, people aren’t as nice as the south. We are now east California with the same policies, people being rude, high cost of living, homelessness, and crime through the roof! I’m from CA and left because of that only to find myself in the same situation again 😏
Everyone has their own experience of course but I'm sorry you've never been offered a bottle of water. If you ever see me, wave at me! I usually have them in the car when working with buyers!
Interesting, informative video! So your state bird is still the Construction Crane.!? 😱😄. Didn’t know the population had increased so much. Was also not aware that auto insurance was rather costly. Was aware of all your other cautions. If there’s such a shortage of doctors, I wonder why the State of Nevada put a nix on Kaiser Permanente a few years ago. I understand Kaiser had signed an intent to purchase the relatively new St. Rose Hospital and planned to add medical offices, etc. to build a top notch care facility on available land around the hospital. Many of us thinking of making the move to LV had to forget about doing so including me & my husband. We wanted to leave costly No. CA upon retiring. My hubby passed 8 years ago and I’m still on the fence about a move @ age 79, especially now as I have developed an ongoing medical problem caused by a Black Widow spider bite. I’m so used to the one-stop-shop - been with Kaiser for more than 55 years and know how to navigate within their system. Had mostly been looking in zip code ‘074, Henderson/Green Valley. In fact was considering buying my parent’s home there. My youngest sister inherited it but sold it very quickly after mom passed in 2007 as she had a condo of her own in Calif. it was sold to flippers and the first ones made some very nice cosmetic changes. It sold twice more to flippers and the last ones made some really questionable major changes. And that’s when I put the kabosh on buying that house. Still looking but very undecided. Lynn in No. CA
Hi Lynn, thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! I read the shortage of MD's is because we are such a new city with not as many residency options and that is where Dr's end up practicing. I've also read that situation is changing over time. Feel free to reach out at 702-710-6371 and we would be happy to assist even if you are undecided. I understand it can be a tough choice.
Thank you for producing this channel as there seems to be a huge population of ignorant folks who decided to call Vegas there new home. I have lived in Vegas since 2011 and this place WAS affordable until a ton of Genius' decided to leave California only to turn around and go back!!!! Rents have tripled!!! Car insurance has doubled!!! Utilities and groceries have gone up!!! Kudos!! :(-
We have very aggressive bees also. A construction worker died when his backhoe dug into a hive. I also was stung while operating a bobcat loader. They chased me for a quarter mile. They get water from all the pools in the valley so if you see them in your pool, watch to see where they go because it means a hive is near by.
They sure can be if you break into a hive. Though the honeybees in my back yard seem very friendly and help pollinate our garden 🐝 ♥ Thank you for watching. What area do you live in?
LOL 😆 Where we get most everything 😂 Amazon! We have major shipping/distribution hubs here in Las Vegas and generally, we get Amazon deliveries very quickly. Are you local? www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BRZW1JA/
Micah I'm a Vegas native I'm 69. I can recall growing up here and the people boom is ridiculous. It's not for everyone Californian people seem to be the biggest amount. Yesser it sure has changed -- I still love it -- and can't think of a place I would prefer, and I have lived in many cities. Las Vegas is definitely not that tiny little town anymore. That said I don't recognize the places I used to live either - LOL. Change is definitely challenging. If you have a friend thinking of moving away - please share my info/channel. I've not heard that one! Most people here filter their drinking water with reverse osmosis and have water softeners to remove excess minerals so our appliances and fixtures last longer.
@ilov Yes, my parents had reverse osmosis but no water softener. They lived in Henderson for 20 years - moved there after retirement. They passed - Dad in 2006 & Mom just months later in 2007. They loved it there and my husband & I made many trips to visit. We loved that summer heat,
I have a friend who drives limos! There are great patio homes in 55+ communities that have garages. There are also regular condos with garages that might work. Call me or text 702-820-0943 and I will send you some examples so you can see.

I grew up in Denver and have lived in the northeast as well. The cold in Las Vegas is NOTHING like that. People golf and do other outdoor activities here all year - just some days are weirdly chilly once you become acclimated to the heat. Are you thinking of moving here?
No it gets down to 40 degrees in Vegas but it feels colder because we have no humidity. Plants do not die or get covered in ice😆. It only snows up in the Mountains. It is nothing like OH and nothing like terrible FL!! I have lived all over the US and prefer NV. Southern Cali is second to NV for my favorites. Not that I do not love going to NY and NYC, but just would not want to live there nor in LA, but great to visit and I love those place.

Yeah its shocking and disappointing how car insurance is so much higher here. It doesn't make sense. The insurance company said it's because its a tourist town, yet we have great driving weather and no snow. And we don't deal with tourists living in summerlin.
I hear it's a lot higher elsewhere. And I agree it's difficult for sure! We have around 2.3 million residents and around 40 million visit every year, so it probably does have an effect. At least all those visitors help keep taxes down.
I work in the insurance industry and whoever told you it’s because of tourists is dead wrong. Rates are high in Vegas because not everyone has high limits. I think the State minimums in NV for liability is super low. That’s why there are so many attorney commercials and billboards. If an accident isn’t your fault and you’re hit by someone who has low limits, your insurance company is going to pick up the difference. The insurance company passes that cost on.
No mention of the crime, homelessness or filth? I'd think that would be the top 3 out of 4 after the heat. Also, for pests, I think you're under representing the unbelievable number of roaches here (maybe because of all the filth).
lol nobody cares about the homeless here or the crime. The crime is crazy. The homelessness is everywhere, schools are the worse in the nation. Scorpions inside the house, roads are horrible.
Hi Jose YES - Spring and Fall are the best times of the year as the weather is near perfect! We leave our doors open with no screen doors. If you are a gardener, it gives you 2 growing seasons. Summers are a few weeks of brutal hot, and the winters are a few weeks of weirdly cold, but the rest of the time it's mostly awesome!! We moved here for the great weather! Every few years we get a dusting of snow on the palm trees. Overall, we LOVE the weather here. Where are you living currently?
@@garygoodwin3461 Great neighborhood!! - I've done a lot of work in there and on the lake! If I can ever be of assistance to you or a friend, please reach out - thank you so much for watching my shows!
You are welcome friend! No city I've lived in is perfect -- but even with all our issues I LOVE living here in Las Vegas, and feel like it's the best place I've ever lived, all things considered.
It's too much for some haha. Here is how we handle the heat in Las Vegas during the hot months. 1. Do outdoor activities - walking, hiking, golf, pickleball, chores etc in the morning. 2. Wear lots of sun protection hats sunscreen and sunglasses. 3. Put fans in your outdoor living area. Some like the water misters but I think those are overkill. 4. Drink lots of water. Everywhere you go indoors is airconditioned, and after some time your body becomes acclimated to the warmer weather. It's no big deal after a while.
My idea is to buy a house on the LV Country Club golf course and Oahu and go back and forth during the year. Have fun. Just don’t get married to one of the many hot ladies and blow the fun
That sounds like a great plan! That's a nice old club and because it is older, there are affordable options! Let me know if I can help you realize your 9th Island dream! 🙏
I love living in vegas I miss living out there I am coming back in may. Had to leave cause of marriage problems in 2019/ Now I am moving back and single
Yes, we have higher rates for a town of our size according to what I read. Most people have security systems and it's always important to be aware of your surroundings. Anecdotally, crime is not something I hear a lot of people complain about as often as a few other issues. Where are you currently located? How is the situation there?
AGREED, but you can't just vote because commies run as red. YOU HAVE TO GET INVOLVED AT THE LOCAL LEVEL. STOP GOVERNORS FROM TAKING FEDERAL FUNDING BECAUSE THE FEDS USE THE FUNDING TO CONTROL LOCAL GOVERNMENTS... ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTELY. Federal control over state is absolute power because it's centralized control over the people.

So everyone with addictions should move there lol. It’s not the state it’s up the person and how they handle addiction. In California we have casinos everywhere and etc

You sound stupid! People living elsewhere are clueless. This is just information for the clueless. Simple! Congratulations for knowing something about LV 🥳 I lived in Vegas from Cali in the late 80s… I didn’t realize much of this except Heat, Cold and Crime. (Murders) specifically. So I’m sure people wanting to move there because of Glitz & Glam would like to know this and switch to UT or AZ.
Everything he mentioned is true. How is he a “crybaby”? Vegas is turning into the world’s largest gas station bathroom before everyone’s very eyes. Name 1 important thing that’s better in Vegas now than it was 20 years ago.
Las Vegas doesn’t need a baseball team. The Athletics can go back to Philadelphia where they originally started to begin with. They were always the better team than the loser Phillies.

I'll never figure out how they price gas around the country either!

I think if I hadn't moved to Phoenix 6 years ago and thinking about moving to Vegas now, these definitely would have made me pause.
Las Vegas doesn't set up for everyone. That said, I have lived all over the country before settling here 22 years ago and I love it here the best! #13, if you are a Compulsive Gambler!
You need to be ATL in the Spring, all the cars are covered in green pollen.
Yes, the south with its humidity can be so much worse with pollen! Are you in Atlanta currently?
@@ilovelivinginlasvegas Thank you too, for your accurate portrayal! You aren't alone in loving those dang trees! I was driving an Uber passenger back to Spanish Trails from McCarran and he was lamenting the loss of their trees off the golf course. I do feel bad for the folks that like'em and I hate to see any tree die. They're part of Nature's way of getting the CO2 out of the air. Thanks again, to you too!

The Las Vegas performance academy is public and one of the best in the US.

Many of us thinking of making the move to LV had to forget about
doing so including me & my husband.

I hear there's a high Canzerr rate, bcz of the water?
I've not heard that one! Most people here filter their drinking water with reverse osmosis and have water softeners to remove excess minerals so our appliances and fixtures last longer.
@ilov
Yes, my parents had reverse osmosis but no water softener. They lived in Henderson for 20 years - moved there after retirement. They passed - Dad in 2006 & Mom just months later in 2007. They loved it there and my husband & I made many trips to visit. We loved that summer heat,

Road construction is bad. But besides that, I can’t complain
Car insurance on a 2015 Altima 240 a month no accidents no tickets
Yes its bad but I hear that its bad everywhere from people moving here.
@@jeffmayer6312 You're right there are probably many factors!
No mention of the crime, homelessness or filth? I'd think that would be the top 3 out of 4 after the heat. Also, for pests, I think you're under representing the unbelievable number of roaches here (maybe because of all the filth).
Do you live in Vegas? I don’t see any of these as an issue in Vegas

30s and 40s usually. We get a light freeze occasionally. We still do outside stuff in the cold unless its pouring rain or crazy wind.
Is there spring and fall?
Hi Jose YES - Spring and Fall are the best times of the year as the weather is near perfect! We leave our doors open with no screen doors. If you are a gardener, it gives you 2 growing seasons. #1 Put my head in the oven heat simulator. I'M OUT
It's too much for some haha.
You gotta be a little crazy to live here like us
