    Poland won the War with the Bolsheviks. Polish soldiers wanted to fight, but society wanted peace. Likewise, Lenin wanted peace. Being Polish is like being an American today, you have an identity from Texas, Hawaii, New Orleans, but I am an American. That's why Lithuanians (Belarusians) and Ukrainians said they were Poles. Unfortunately, Germans and Austrians supported nationalism and the awareness of being Polish, Lithuanian and Ruthenian at the same time as a citizen of the Rzeczpospolita, died. Additionally, Piłsudski's idea was not a federal state like the USA, but like Switzerland with cantons. The Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth did not have a national character, but a cultural one regarding freedom and rights.

    Hey Videntis, i have this funky idea:
    What if the Holy Roman Empire was ITALIAN and not German?
    I even have some key elements:
    -Instead of the Franks and Saxons, this alternate Holy Roman Empire was founded by the Longobards where a devout Catholic Noble, Valderic, usurped a firm arian King who threatned to destroy the Pope.
    -Valderic, seeking an alliance with the Pope, became the sworn protector and received the honourable title of 'Duke of Rome'. And moved the Empire's main Capital to Rome where he rebuilt the city from the damages of the Gothic Wars, was crowned Emperor by the Pope in Saint Peter's Basilica and proclaimed "Augustus" by the People in the Forum. Becoming Valderic I Augustus, moving his official residence to the Domus Tiberiana in the Palatine Hill, once the residence of the byzantine governor in Rome.
    -The Franks, who felt betrayed by the Pope made their own AntiPope and Marched towards Italy. The Longobards, helped by the Saxons and internal anti-Frankish resitances, mainly led by the Burgundians, defeated the Franks at the Battle of Turin, thus beggining the re-stabilization of Italy and the Valderican Renaissance.
    -The Valderican Renaissance is marked by a revival of Roman Artisian Craft, Roman Infrastructure and Roman Institutions. A new Roman Senate made of enriched Plebeians and Longobard Nobles was formed.
    -Valderic adopts a Golden Banner with a Black Eagle made with mixed Germanic and Roman Artwork. The Eagle, known in our timeline as a German Symbol instead, is cemented as an italian symbol.

    • @EagleOwl966
      @EagleOwl966 Месяц назад +2

      Korona (Crown)
      Korona Królestwa Polskiego (Crown of the Kingdom of Poland)
      In Poland, the term "Crown of the Kingdom of Poland" first appeared in royal documents during the reign of Casimir the Great (1333-1370). However, at that time, it did not carry a coherent political ideology, serving rather as a substitute for the name of the Kingdom of Poland.

    • @EagleOwl966
      @EagleOwl966 Месяц назад +1

      The term Corona Regni appears only three times in the documents of Casimir the Great, and all three instances are used by foreign chancelleries in connection with international treaties, which was common at the time.

    • @EagleOwl966
      @EagleOwl966 Месяц назад +1

      The term "Crown of the Kingdom of Poland" referred to the state as an institution independent from the ruler, no longer, as in the era of patrimonial monarchy, his personal property. The name "Crown of the Kingdom" defined Poland as an indivisible entity, governed by laws and constitutional principles that stood above the person of the monarch.

    • @EagleOwl966
      @EagleOwl966 Месяц назад +1

      Under Louis of Hungary, the ideology of the Crown of the Kingdom had already taken on a fully developed form. This term was primarily used to secure the position and independence of the Kingdom of Poland, which was in a personal union with Hungary.

    • @EagleOwl966
      @EagleOwl966 Месяц назад +1

      In the times of the Commonwealth, the Crown was divided into the provinces of Greater Poland and Lesser Poland, which were further divided into voivodeships, and these into counties.
      After the union with the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, the formal term "Crown of the Kingdom" became a popular and convenient way to refer to the Kingdom of Poland. The ideology of the Crown of the Kingdom also influenced the terminology used at the court. From the late Middle Ages, state offices previously referred to as "royal" began to be called "crown" offices (e.g., Grand Crown Chancellor, Grand Crown Hetman, etc.).
      During the period of partitions, the term "Crown" was used as a common colloquial designation for the Polish lands.

They'd be a lot stronger to repel early Ottoman (if they do form) attacks thus leaving the Ottomans weaker and possibly easier to conquer and Christianize. After 1453? Well I doubt Rome would be interested in colonization but They'd probably be forced to have colonies. Since even Austria and Germany were forced to have colonies, even Belgium

      not sure, here is the full paragraph
      In May 1921, the domestically divisive Peace of Tallinn was signed, ending the Soviets’ conflicts against Poland and Latvia, a valiant effort at detente. Russia was more than happy to cede all of Belarus to end the war, fearful of the Poles reaching the Black Sea, and being “persuaded” by France to aid Wrangel. Although the Black Baron was losing to the Bolsheviks, he remained strong in the South, and the Franco-British aid scared Lenin, who grew paranoid that the capitalists would discover a means to quell the revolution as they were already being trounced by the Poles. Poland expanded all the way to the Desna River, acquiring important cities like Chernigov, Bryansk, Smolensk, and Vitebsk, leaving Minsk far west of the border, easing Belarusian worries. Żytomierz, with its sizable Polish population, rejoined Poland, but Poland dropped away from Kiev to the Teteriv River. The southernmost border was along the Southern Bug River, with Winnica remaining in Polish. The Ukrainian fears were realized as Poland recognized the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, and couldn’t rename the Kingdom of Halych to Ukraine, secretly agreeing to distinguish any Ukrainian identity to a new Halician one, better for Poland and the Soviets. Latvia’s new border remained at the Velikaya, easily defendable. France was irritated by the Treaty, but Wrangel was all but defeated by the time the Treaty was ratified, so came to understand the Polish rationale. Although some in the military were disappointed by the result, they realized the holdable borders they secured, and Poland became the strongest state in Eastern Europe. Now the time had come to rebuild their lands they fought so hard to preserve.

      @@goofyahh2243But it's not a war, it's a special military operation, my friend. Zelensky is a nazi and Ukraine is just a made up word. By the way, Putin the Great won 90 percent of the vote earlier this year.

    Ruthenian was term (latin itself of Rus-Rusian, not Russian) for Ukrainians and Belarusians as Poland, nor Ukrainians and Belarusians recognized Muscovy's claim as heir of Rus, Poland refereed Ukrainians and Belarusians as Rus, while "Russia" was refereed as Muscovy, also Cossacks were mostly Ukrainian, only Don, Terek and Past-Ural cossacks were Russians, Kuban, Sloboda, Zaporizhian and well Hetman Cossacks were Ukrainians.

    To me. Dmowski will always be a traitor. Instead of us getting more land and also having better relations with the Ukrainians and Belarusians(Pilsudski made a promise to save them from the Soviets), he sold them out and decided to settle for less. Pilsudski made his mistakes too later on when we had to modernize our military to prep for Germany but Dmowski really screwed us early on.

      @Videntis.History To me(Im Polish) he was a traitor to Pilsudski's plan for what Poland was as the Commonwealth, a multi-ethnic nation/region where was Dmowski's group was nationalistic that would form the foundations of a Falangist ideology later on up to WW2 and wanted Poland and all new territory to be Polish and Catholic only.

      So you claim that Ukraine Republic under bolsheviks rule was already considered a free country by Ukrainians? Ukrainian understand Kyiv under bolsheviks as their free capital? I thought so. Ukrainians do not see the difference between Ukrainians and Russians. One of the recent proof was when Zelenskyy called the missle that killed two people in Przewodów as Russian while NATO recognized it as Ukrainian missle.
