Your videos are great. This new knowledge for me has provided encouragement and next steps. I was recently diagnosed with COPD and have a lot to learn. I never smoked. I’m a retired U.S. Army soldier.

Thank you so much Dr. Stanel. Was very interesting. I will switch tomorrow back to Seretide. Symbicort give me stomache pain, anxiety with panic attacks.

Long term Symbicort use definitely is a cause of weight gain in some people.

I do noticed that after 8 months of 250/50 Wixela, my appetite has certainly gotten risen but I haven't really gained weight because I still count my calories

Thank you for this video, Dr. Stefan. My doctor prescribed Wixela for two weeks in order to control a cough that I had on and off since for about 3 month now. She told me that if my symptoms don't improve in two weeks, she will refer me to a pulmonologist. Is this a common/known approach to treatment, for just two weeks?

HI doctor, I was thinking about switching to Advair 500/50 twice daily, you mentioned that his dosage may be risky. Have you personally met anyone who had bad side effects with this dosage?

Had to switch to Seretide inhaler after getting severe edema caused by Flutiform. Now my lungs and my feet are a lot better!

The dose of steroid may be low but think about the duration someone with asthma may take it for. I’m 39 years in and know my weight increased dramatically even though I trained my body.

True there is something about the cumulative dose over a lifetime, but I still think it's safer than having uncontrolled asthma and going in and out of hospital or having to take oral corticosteroids repeatedly which are a much larger dose.
Also the weight gain is a complex issue and not only related to inhalers so I would suggest not trying to find one single explanation, our bodies are a bit more complicated than that

But inhalers are normally taken two puffs 2 times a day so that's the same as the tablets
