@@BackFortyTV you must not know how welding works, welding is easy but doing it perfectly in a straight line takes extreme skill and most dudes who work at muffler shops do sloppy welds because it’s extremely time consuming to do it perfectly and would cost alot more to be done because of the time consuming labor to weld it almost perfectly

For my 2017 Silverado 6.2L, I've got a muffler delete, 3inch pipe...to a y pipe...into 2.5inch dual pipes, still got my all my cats. I want it be a little louder. I might replace the third with a high flow cat. Maybe? Yes?
Not that I've done it myself 😜 but if you remove that secondary cat after the y and just put a normal piece of pipe in its place you get no codes and sounds best no need for a aftermarket high flow cat.

It's a huge difference in my experiences. My '07 is dualed-out with 2.5" and y-pipe, and finished up with 6" slash cut tips. I got rid of the resonator when we cut out all the factory pipe. It sounds perfect. I could upload and post a video on my RUclips channel if you want me to.. It would be my first upload 😆

I want to hear the idle and I like the throaty sound as you call it but I don’t like the clap when it gets revved up so I’m trying to figure out a good setup
Bend the end of your tail pipe(s) 30-60 degrees and put anything that doesn’t hang down too far. Like the first video. 3 1/2” to 4” will get the job done on dual tips. Probably a 4” or 5” on a single. That straight under the rear bumper stuff looks corny to me personally unless it has cutout outlets in the bumper like the third truck. So do oversized tips though. That’s just my opinion though lol. Everybody has their own preference. Just do what you like 👍🏻.

1 quality made Borla system vs 4 Hillbilly exhaust setups. Ugly, cheap pipes and nasty 4 and 5 inch tips. What a shit hole. Saddest thing is he a muffler shop, yet he's never heard of Borla 🤦♂️ Good riddance
@@elcompatavo9365 that was a factory option borla. I had a adjustable borla on my trans am with no block off plate and it was loud. Even though that was basically straight pipe most of borlas mufflers are straight through design which makes em on the louder side. But they are pricy.

Remove cats completely not sure if you'll need a tune.

@@yoseeev8306 No the O2 sensors are before the 3rd cat. Definitely makes it deeper in sound when your on it, as well as at idle.

does cutting the flap off effect the active fuel management in the GM trucks?
No but you need to turn that off anyway with a range AFM delete if you want your exhaust to sound good

The flap also eventually wears in it and starts making squeaky noise which is super annoying

I would recommend Jones Exhaust/North Eastern in the place of your stock muffler. It would give you the tone you are looking for.

I had a magnaflow and valves left in. Nice a quiet when I want it, loud when I stand on it.
Only problem is when it drops down to 4 cylinder mode. On any after market exhaust.
get a tuner to delete that, or buy the software for it to do it yourself (efi live i think) but it'll be expensive
