The older guy that worked there who was working on something else yelled. The best muffler is no mufflers. I said you know what. Let’s try straight back from the cats. Started it up with straight pipes. I couldn’t stop grinning and even the mechanics all started grinning. “BEST MUFFLER IS NO MUFFLER”
If it still had the cats, it wasnt straightpiped though. Straighpiped just means theres nothing muffling sound after the headers, including cats or resonators
I got the super 40 and I left the resonator on sounds really good..... not even loud on the freeway and that's what I like but in town that's when you want it... But I got the 6.2...
@@montana10155 depends on where you get the work done. Its simple, cut the pipe before the muffler and possible resonator, weld new pipe straight back or angled, then weld tip of your choice on. Shouldn't be more than $150 including black or chrome tip of your choice.

Other than that I have put on the Continental Terrain Contact which is an AT tire and handles both on and off road very nicely.
I love the work you guys do. Next Tahoe you get in after the 3rd converter run two pipes all the way back and exit under the bumper on each side. I think that sound would be epic.

I test drove an 09 in Tacoma last week that had exhaust headers, and probably an aftermarket muffler set up-loud and powerful! Headers looked natural and clean

I’ve got their TR series with resonator delete on my 2015 Sierra and it’s perfect, aggressive growl on cold start then mellows out to a nice deep tone ideal for a daily.
I’m wanting to do a Borla ATAK crate muffler and delete the resonator on my 2016 Tahoe. But should I just have it dump before the bumper like the stock exhaust or put a tip on it? Does a tip have any effect on the sound?

So good at welding but wont weld your own exhaust, downright preposterous, a true dumbing down, is this amateur hour?

Hey there! I'd like to ask you quick question, my friend just gave me a Flowmaster 943040, That's the 40 Delta flow. That one has the center in, center outlet. I noticed that most of the flowmasters for that particular truck (2007 tahoe) are offset intlet or outlet. Would the center in and out, fit without any issues? thanks!

It's only bc all he did was change the muffler, look at that tiny ass exhaust tip everyone has, and they never do a complete exhaust change and also dumping them can make it sound 10x better

I can tell a 4.8 from a 5.3 all day long. Similarly can tekk a 6.0 from a 5.3, can pick out 5.7s from a Mile out. 4.8 actually has a slightly deeper tone from my experience and is happier than the 5.3 at above 5k rpm. Just my thoughts. I have a 4.8, 5.3 6.0 and 2 tbi 350 and 2 vortec 350. Slightyly Different personalities in all of them 👍🏻

Get vibrant 3 inch in, 3 inch out bottle style muffler 12 inches long. It will deepen the sound and greatly improve the drone.

what sucks about stock cats is how good they work as mufflers. You lose a lot of the crisp higher tones making the sound "muddy".

None unless u do from motor back had 01 and put some many mufflers and cat Back systems even cats where swapped for high flow ones and nothing

From 07-13 the muffler shops install a offset Inlet and and offset outlet when it come down to mufflers.

I have a 2018 Silverado V6 with a 40 series but sounds like a Tacoma 😡 and just wanted to sound like a V8 should I put a super 10?
Unless you do headers it will be hard to get a v6 to sound like a v8. With headers it will sound deeper still not a v8 but close as you will get.

It most likely does sound the exact same. Only difference from the 5.3 is the larger stroke so the 4.8 might sound a little less throaty.
