The first mod I install into every vehicle that I’ve owned for the last 20 years is a K&N intake.
So after owning my 23 Tacoma TRD Off Road, the first week I installed the K&N.
I’m now saving up for the FlowMaster Flow FX dual exhaust for my TRD.
I had a K&N intake in my last pickup which was a 11 Ford Ranger XLT super cab 4WD with the 4.0L V6).
I also installed a FlowMaster single exhaust on it.
The combination of the two gave my Ranger more horsepower, torque and mpg.
I’m quite sure that a new Flow FX on my Tacoma will do the same.

Around 3 years ago I chose the 2.5” Delta Flow 40s for my mostly stock ‘95 Impala SS in the OE location/resonator delete. I’m extremely happy with the sound, inside the car….AND outside. I think you’ll like it too. Crazy, considering the design of the Delta Flows, but I think that their sound has even gotten better with age. I’m lovin mine.
Edit….forgot to add that I exited the exhaust right behind the rear tires on each side through 2.5” pipes with stainless slant tips. Looks great too.

Outstanding job on this updated video. I love the Super 40 muffler on my 2012 Chevy Silverado 1500. People often compliment me on the sound of the exhaust.
Super 40 sounds better than the super 44. I know because I tried both in my 01 5.3…. The 44 is too deep and not loud enough
The bad thing about using a LS powered vehicle is they don't sound like anything else, not Mopar, not Ford or anything that is older GM. So you really can't get a fair judgement on the muffler. Just like the 5.0 Mustangs in the 80s and early 90's, they have they own unique sound.

I grew up with lots of pick-up trucks / four wheel drive mudders in my area. Most had glass packs, so I associate the signature clatter, pop, scavenging crackle and reverberations with trucks. Whereas to me, most Flowmaster mufflers have a more modern, deep and refined tone, plus they offer about 8 different models / sizes with varied sound restriction, so without listing the specific “series” of Flowmaster mufflers, it’s kind of misleading to potential buyers (which too many online comparisons do). Personally, I wouldn’t put glass packs on a recent model Corvette, Camaro SS, Mustang GT 500, Hellcat, Mercedes V-8, Bugatti, or Escalade, but to each their own I guess. 🤣
My Jeep 4.7 had Super 44, love that sound, my Chrysler running 2x FX, gonna swap them out for 2x Super 44s, make the 6.1 sing

gotta say, the Super 44's seem to be the sweet spot for me
When picking your test vehicle for the videos I personally would choose a vehicle with both outlets facing the camera and microphone to best show off sound quality. Having only one pipe kind of facing the microphone while the second faces away defeats the purpose in my opinion. I have Flowmasters on both of my vehicles.

how sure can I be that I will have no drone with a catback system using only a flowmaster 50 delta flow (2,5" piping) on my BMW 325i E46 touring? (tourings are more prone to drone)
Showing a truck revving its engine does absolutely nothing. Why not do a simple "loudness reduction" test. ie: measure decibel levels of each muffler on the same engine.
Would like to hear the engine on other brands aswell great video though everything in the 50 series sounds rhetorical best to me
All of these mufflers gave an outstanding external sound. I am curious about the reduction in interior noise claim. Since none of these muffler sounds were recorded from the vehicle's interior, it is difficult to know exactly what you meant by the claimed noise reduction. I love the Flowmaster muffler series and installed a pair on my 1964 Ford Fairlane 500 Sports Coupe with a 260-cid engine. She sounded awesome back in high school, (1979).
does the testing truck have catted exhaust?! .. does it have a resonators as well with the cats or is it just resonators or just cats ? ..
those factors will affect the sound coming out of the muffler ..
I have a f body with headers and y pipe cat deleted and no resonators with stock cutback factorys muffler and it's louder than almost all the tested mufflers here .. 😅

The question is what engine is that how big is the pipe are you running two mufflers or one do you have a x pipe or h pipe how far back are the mufflers.

All sound the same in the video. Next time, you ought to take some decible readings inside and out. That way we could better understand the volume differences that I'm betting are much more apparent in person.

i have a 1978 camaro with 305sbc and a y pipe system that goes to a stock muffler and exits out two pipes. It has a mild cam and cat. What muffler would best suit me for a throaty sound but something not nascar loud? (also i am taking off the cat soon)

I recommende the super 10 I put it on my 5.3 motor the sound it perfect not to loud but loud enough to do the job first time using Flowmaster 10 is the best 2007 Chevy Yukon sounds great

@@Doc1855 man that’s great. I put the Flow FX dual in/single out on my Tundra. Sounds nice and deep but I get a lot of drone around 1600-2000 rpm. Looking at some options to combat that
@@juanito937 I’ve found that a dual exhaust is better and you don’t get that drone.
On my 2010 Tundra 4X4 (5.7L V8), I had Toyota install the TRD dual exhaust.

U kno what would be nice?? Make mufflers like these with the hangers welded to them for cars that come stock w them on so you don't have to get these put on at mufflers shop were they'll weld them on! Just out rite stupid to offer some of these and u can't put them in at home, instead you gotta have put on

I'm rather happy with my flowmaster 40 delta flow on my 02 Crown Vic. The only mufflers I use are Flowmasters on v8s and for V6 applications, SpinTech mufflers are great

Why did all sound the same I’m thinking they are pulling our leg and they never changed a muffler one on that pick up they only use the mufflers that came on the pick up and just showed you a different muffler each time. Besides David Vizard said that flow masters were the worst mufflers you could buy as far as good flow without power robbing back pressure
In person they're very different! I've been using them on my 89 Mustang for over 30 years!

This video is missing a giant test. Idle sounds. The sound at idle and crank to me is very important on a cammed vehicle. I need to hear the cam. Great video, but really surprised nothing to hear them all loping with a cam like in the old video from flowmaster.
