What a great video. I’m looking into buying one of these kayaks and love the idea of this seat mod. Really all the steps you took. A lot of great “Big Brain” mods to increase usefulness without creating new drawbacks. Cool dad making a sick fishing kayak. Thanks for posting this video.
Wondering if you changed from the Velcro? At 1:25, that measurement I saw flex in the boat and read that it could crack bolting it there which is why I'm interested in your install method. I have Velcro Extreme Outdoor 15lb 4x2" All Weather that i am using. Strongest I could find off the shelf.
I love that this is a no drill method into the kayak. Should you ever want to go back to stock you can and nobody is the wiser. Velcro still holding strong?
I’m trying to buy one for my buddy same brand but his doesn’t have the mad at floor or that little case in front so I don’t know how old is is and he wants $400 for it and what I’m seeing right now from other peoples kayaks and they got there is a lot more done to it with anchor bars seat modification already and they’re selling it for 300 bucks I just don’t know nothing about this brand I use it in the water the other day I floated I mean I went good but what I like to do is put a motor on it
Can't help with the motor mount but I've owned a FS12T for about 8 years and my old ass loves it. Will say that it's heavy at approx 80 pounds but I am an old fart. Seat upgrade is a must. Stock slides around to much. Standing is still tricky but this Seat mod and a pull-up rope attached to the nose will help. Of course all of this is based on the number of 12oz you consume before exiting the water
I am doing this to mine too. I like the idea of not drilling holes in my new kayak!
The velcro is a great idea, I plan on doing this, this weekend.
I love it I use it on tons of stuff on the kayak. I haven’t had any problems with it shifting or anything either!
Aweome video that’s a great idea, recently purchased my 12t and I felt too low and the way you raised it seems so much easier. Big props

Great video. I own a older FS12T and am tired of fighting with my seat. How tall are you in boots? Could you list bolt hardware you used
So after a year , how has this held up ?
Thank u for video 🙏
No problem hope it serves you well!
What size angle iron did u use ?

Yeah absolutely it’s mostly just there so the kayak isn’t getting damaged and rubbed by the angle iron.
What size angle iron is this?
How well did the velcro work? Did the seat stay in place?
It works great
