Cartoon Network channel still carry on but the building is down.
As for the channel, its not the same anymore. Their last great shows were We Bare Bears and Gumball which both ended in 2019. The only thing good that CN has ever out out since then are just Adventure Time content like the limited series Distant Lands and Fionna and Cake. At this point Adventure Time is the only good show left.
Adventure Time, Regular Show, and Gumball are all coming back with continuation, spin off, prequel and movie and hopefully they will be enough to save Cartoon Network and bring it back up to it's prime

I can agree with this statement tbh.
As a last-gen teen that was the last to experience tv/cable before it pretty much fell downhill during/after 2020
(Gen-Z), I remember coming back from elementary and a bit of middle school alongside my friend and we would always watch the best shows at the time of Cartoon Network, Regular Show, Adventure Time and TAWOG in the early afternoons during the early and mid 2010s, I would also remember hearing other older friends, families and adults getting into TWD and GOT during their prime on websites like Google+ and Online Forums
(Wasn't too familiar with Google+ but I know it was once a thing people used to do back then)
It was just a special feeling of going out on a Sunday night and hanging out with some friends or families and watching the latest episode while chomping down some foods, nowadays you just don't have that connection anymore, simply because cable is becoming *very* dated as well as streaming becoming a norm especially when Covid-19 hit.

  • @leoorduna2199
    @leoorduna2199 Месяц назад +7

A timeline I created in regards to Cartoon Network's history and it's state of decline.
*The Stone Age (1992-1999) -* It is here where Cartoon Network got its start and it started off with airing old TV shows from the 30's-60's as well as Hanna-Barbara but very noteworthy original TV shows such as Powerpuff Girls, Dexter's Laboratory, Cow and Chicken, and Johnny Bravo helped to draw in viewers throughout the 90's and starting off of The young era of Cartoon Network which was in its early beginnings.
*The Golden Age (1999-2009) -* Ed, Edd, n Eddy made its debut and started the Golden age as CN mass produced watchable, memorable, and forgettable original shows throughout the 2000's with many TV shows being crossed over in CN City bumpers and with 2007 being at its peak (CN Invaded). 2009 was the dark age as many Cartoon Network Originals ended in 2008 respectively. The Golden Age came to an end following the conclusion of Ed, Edd, n Eddy.
*The Silver Age (2010-2019) -* As the Dark age concluded, Adventure Time and Regular Show came in time to save Cartoon Network and started the Silver Age. Cartoon Network began producing TV shows for teenaged audiences and adding mature themes in their shows as opposed to the slapstick humor that was in the Golden Age with a handful of exceptions. However many of these TV shows had ended in the mid to late 2010s. The Silver Age came to an end following the conclusion of The Amazing World of Gumball.
*The Rust Age (2019-present) -* As no new TV show came into usher Cartoon Network into a new age as the company now lacks in producing newer TV shows to attract newer audiences, instead relying on re-runs and originals that have existed since the Silver age thus ushering Cartoon Network in a state of decline.
*Renaissance Era (????-????) -* A hypothetical scenario where Cartoon Network begins to produce new, watchable, and memorable originals similar to the originals of the Golden-Silver Age, which would help draw in newer audiences and save Cartoon Network from decline and will help usher in an era of rebirth.

My Adventures with Superman was originally slated to be a Cartoon Network Original but after a tyrannical purged it found a home in Adult Swim. Had it stayed on Cartoon Network (and survived) it would have possibly started a new age for Cartoon Network, as the TV show could draw viewers and it would've helped Cartoon Network get back on its feet. And maybe it would have inspired CN to produce originals.

It’s very sad because I really wouldn’t be surprised if in the future, Cartoon Network just existed as an IP only, with most of their shows being reboots of their old shows, with nothing original and if they do have any original animated shows, they’re just going to be shipped overseas from different countries.

Even with Cartoon Network not at its best, they still have Adult Swim for the experimental programming and better management, and Toonami working its way to become the "better cartoon show". If Cartoon Network shuts down, Adult Swim and Toonami will also be affected. I don't want that to happen.
Speaking of a future without Cartoon Network, I could see The CW embracing animation again since the Vortexx days, but I want it to expand past the Saturday morning cartoon blocks. Animation for youths would go to a possible Kids' WB revival, then the experimental programming could go to The CW, or TBS depending on its content. For action cartoons? I was thinking of TNT, or have some kind of Sunday night animation block on The CW that would give Fox's Sunday primetime offerings a run for its money. It's like the KQEH (KQED Plus) Science Fiction nights from 1996-2003, but from a more well-known distributor.

Cartoon Network is notorious for having ups and downs. 2007-2009 was the first known dark era. Everyone on the Internet was bitching about the live action shows and the over saturation of cartoons imported from Canada. They had a brief comeback arc for the first half of the 2010's or so, but I never paid attention because I got rid of cable in that time period. But Im guessing the network has been in perpetual malaise since 2017? Either way the network ran its course long ago and the channel slot is being carried by Adult Swim. Either way this is a reflection of the demographic changes; millenials aren't having children like the previous generations, so network execs aren't going to put in the effort for building quality lineups to no one.
The question we should ask ourselves is whether or not Cartoon Network and Adult Swim will be absorbed and rebranded towards multiple demographics. This might be a likely scenario because AS will never break off and get its own channel slot (despite being more successful) as television providers are still apprehensive about having a channel with "adult" in its title.

I really don’t know what to do If I am still hoping for a PPG reboot. CMC has made the water somewhat murky the last week saying his project wasn’t technically a revival, but a new one off… I am getting REALLY suspicious and worried that something is happening or is going to happen and the result, in terms of a PPG revival, is not going to be good, possibly a cancellation.
If that’s the word that comes out of CMC’s mouth (or I find out though the WB media releases and PPG fans I see on Social Media),
Then we may have no choice but to “rally up the troops” and go for a “mass action rally (a la March on Washington) to protest the WB-Discovery company’s treatment of the animation division, And Coyote/Acme is just the tip of the icebergh. This is something I don’t want to go to, but it needs to at least be brought up in fandom communities. I’ll be writing a plea to urge all the fandoms to unite and consider strategies to make a stand against WBD.

The 1990s and the 2000s was the heyday of Cartoon Network. It's too bad that the CN of today is not like that anymore. A lot of kids channels are overtaken by corporations who just want money, they don't care about the heart and soul of the cartoons themselves. We just have to keep fighting them, that's what we should do, for the sake of creative freedom and artistic integrity.

I fell out of love with CN over a few reasons: 1. Toonami stopped being a weekday block, 2. The whole live action era, 3. The rise of the “CalArts” styled shows (aside from Flapjack, and Regular Show, I was just not a big fan of that aesthetic), 4. Teen Titans Go! being the only thing that airs now.

The closest thing to CN closing anything down was their building in Burbank in July 2023 following their merger with Warner Bros. Animation. They still continue and plan to operate as a separate division. The whole #ripcartoonnetwork was meant to highlight the current struggles in the animation industry, such as layoffs, project cancellations, and questionable business practices. Misleading? Yes, but it managed to get our attention over the issues that CN has been going through for years.

Cartoon Network is indeed dead especially since the Gen alpha kids born: *2011-2018* don’t have cable and just streaming services and RUclips to watch there favourite shows and not to mention Cartoon Network is just Damaging there selves by not running there channel right and just Spamming TTG all the time never letting new shows get the chance they deserve and not to mention Reusing ideas they did *Hint: PPG 2016 and Ben 10* never really making original Good shows like they did when they were actually good, And it’s not just Cartoon Network it’s also boomerang, Boomerang should be a Checkard past stand alone channel at this point the only Cartoon Network Channel that is doing well is Adult swim! With there amazing ideas for make nostalgia blocks ( Toonami reboot and checkard past ) and not to mention adult swim doesn’t spam the shows and still have some what of life left unlike boomerang and Cartoon Network that are just letting themselves fall apart one by one instead of listening to the viewers that want to help there channels out
    But here is my ideas
    *Cartoon Network*
-Find ways to make Shows broadcast more and think of amazing ideas for cartoons to make good tv shows and make people like you again
    -Stop spamming TTG
    *boomerang*
-Turn yourself into a checkered past stand alone channel
-Fix your Canadian and international channels by putting that country’s respective 1980s - 2000s show plus The normal Cartoon Network shows you guys air in the states
-Play more Cartoon Network shows from 93-11 and exclude bad shows ( like: Sidekick and scaredy squirrel ) and don’t make original shows
-become an OTA Channel And become a true Competitor to METV Toons
The only channel that can continue the way it is really adult swim
So honestly I think Cartoon Network and boomerang need to fixed up so they can become like there fourmer selves

It would be nice to at least get more episodes series of all of Cartoon Network’s cartoons continuing all the series they’ve had instead of brand new series also it would be great if Cartoon Network had more sequels, spinoffs, and backstories whether if it’s Cartoon Network doing it or another company taking ownership of Cartoon Network’s cartoons to produce new content based on Cartoon Network’s characters. If anyone agrees with me please pray in Jesus name Cartoon Network will continue new content based on their old characters or another company will continue cartoon Network’s cartoons.

Cartoon Network ended when they started focusing solely on Teen Titans Go. There's no way in hell that Cartoon Network will ever be good again. Cartoon Network made it very clear that they ONLY care about money when they started to focus only on TTG and the thing is that it's short term profit, you can only profit on those kinds of shows for a short amount of time since kids WILL get bored of it/grow out of it quickly so the best solution is to bring out actual quality shows instead of relying on brain numbing garbage like TTG.

CN was a lot different the nineties and two thousands to tenies. Now in the twenties it feels like a zombie shell of irs once past self. Toonami hasn’t been thst ibteresting. It’s only to Aeptember and Naruto Shippuden is over. No chances of Boruto? Running out of shows besides DBZ Kai and One Piece. Their rely heavily on their original series and reruns. CN/AS are playing a lot more reruns, old shows, filler to AS,and preschool shows . Most CN shows are ebding up on AS. The 7-17 demographic don’t watch TV like the older generations in 2024. Which is a total shame as nowadays new shows are either heading to AS or streamkng.
