My wife and I relocated to Morelia, from Reno, Nevada a year and a half ago. She is Mexican, from Mexico City. We've established a wonderful life here with many friends and family.
We've been to a number of your shown locations. An absolutely gorgeous city!

Welcome to Morelia! We retired and moved here over 8 years ago. After traveling Mexico and doing the research, plus as a Mexican, I knew I wanted to grow old there. We selected Morelia because it offers a high quality of life and delightful people. If you notice, Morelia has a sense of tranquility and civility even though the municipality includes about a million souls. We have not one regret and now it is being discovered. Most everyone who makes the move is happy after the adjustment period. Viva Morelia y Michoacan!
@@marylh914 we didn't much of an adjustment period, as my wife has some amazing family here. My wife is Mexican, and from Mexico City.
We spent a month in Mexico City before relocating to Morelia. Only 2 days after arriving, I suffered a stroke. The medical care is fabulous here, and I have recovered miraculously!
We've been moving around the City Center, and enjoying the culture and fabulous food it offers.
We have encountered a few expats since are arrival, and we are always inspired by their stories. Thanks for responding !

We don't like trash. The government Pays berrenderos to clean the streets.
Morelia is very unique. A walk at night downtown is unforgettable and this city will grow in your soul. I fell in love with it my first time there and I did not want to leave. I ended up staying, got a job, and lived some of my happiest days there. I'm back in the states, but I will never stop visiting Morelia

@@Sky-pt6lc, municipal mercados in Mexico are often open every day. In smaller towns the markets may be just once a week. Google maps usually tells you.

There is SO much to do in Morelia. I wish you could have taken a bit more time with some of the spots you showed us. Perhaps a two week jaunt? Loved it, as always! Am hoping you will be exploring Patzcuaro and Uruápan; perhaps a butterfly sanctuary(think they begin to arrive around Day of the Dead); We stayed in Macheros with not any tourists and rode horses up to the reserve; great B&B there). Day of the Dead is coming up and Pátzcuaro is a great place to be for it! So many amazing places to explore around Lago de Pátzcuaro; Zinzanzun with a beautiful arqueológica site close by is one of them and Quiroga for their infamous street carnitas! Can’t wait to see what is next…Thanks you two!!!!
Hey Cathy! Thanks for your input. As you can imagine next week’s video is going to be Pátzcuaro, so wing be there for Día de los Muertos! How was it when you were there?
It was PACKED with people. Our B&B hired us a driver to take us out all night which I HIGHLY recommend. It is best to go to the small towns- Tzinzanzun being one of the BEST, as well as Santa Fe de la Laguna. The island of Janitzio is classic but SO crowded. On your trip to this area, don’t miss Santa Clara del Cobre, the copper making town. It is wonderful and vale la pena to show to your subscribers. Pátzcuaro is absolutely charming, one of my favorite Mexican towns. Lots of indigenous groups all around the lake and each famous for a particular handicraft. Capula is where Catrinas are made and Paracho is famous for guitar making. I encourage you to take two weeks and perhaps focus one video on Day of the Dead and the other on the amazing towns that are in this area. I think your subscribers would LOVE it!!! So look forward to seeing where you end up…

Thanks for showing us this beautiful city .I was there in 1982,when I was a 22 yr old student .I don't remember much. I do know we went to the small town of Patsuaro ,on a lake, with a large inhabited island on it. It was during Los Dios de Muertos. Enjoy the rest of your trip and food!
