GOOD BURGER Defined The 90’s

- Good Burger is one of the best pieces of media to come from the 90’s. Having both Kenan and Kel who together were already making waves on their shows ‘All That’ and ‘Kenan and Kel’, it was a no brainer that the pair coming together could make such an iconic and ridiculously quotable film, thus Good Burger is what it is today.

Thanks so much for watching! Let me know some of your favorite moments from Good Burger or what other film was a major part of your childhood!
I know this movie from The Nostalgia Critic review back in 2009
My favorite moment was when Dexter was telling the story about how he lost the yo-yo that his dad gave him and then Ed gave him a yo-yo. It was so cute and showed how much he cared about him.
Also when Roxanne kept falling trying to seduce Ed😂
Loved this movie way back in the day. It was weird, but that was all part of its charm.
This was a big part of my childhood but the biggest movie had to be the Rugrats movie. It was my first time in theaters and Rugrats was my favorite show growing up.
But has anyone ever done a video on the sequel Good Burger 2 Go?
"Welcome to Good Burger, home of the Good Burger. Can I take your order?" That line, and the Connie Muldoon monologue, will forever live in my head, rent free.
I literally Métis saying this in my head throught this video
Saying that while working restaurant well make your boss day if he or she gets the reference.
I hear it in my head every time I see orange soda. It's fascinating how much more effective of a marketing gimmick a fake fast food place has over real businesses.
Same
Same here
Thanks for having me! I had such a blast revisiting Good Burger 🍔💜
Loved having you on, appreciate ya so much! 😄
The collab I didn’t know I needed!!!
You guys can't do this too often, I can't take this much awesome in one vid. Y'all are my go to's for nostalgia and media dissection. Now boys, talk nerdy to me...
Oh my god! You know each other!🤩
They're going to do a sequel on Paramount+
This is one movie that I can watch over & over again, and still laugh out loud each time!
Yeah.
"I'm a dude, he's a dude, she's a dude, we're all dudes! Ya!"
Kel will forever be the most progressive comedian without even trying. A genuine dude
That's rather regressive and mentally-ill, the way you are spinning it.
@@user-fe8gx3ie5v sure thing dumb kid
Sadly Ed predicted the future about she’s a dude. 😂
There are so many funny quotes from this movie! Some of my favorites are…
Dexter: I don't even remember what my dad looks like.
Ed: I don't remember what my dad looks like either, but at least I get to see him everyday.
Heather: [very fast] Have small space aliens ever landed in your brain and told you to break into the zoo and free the kangaroos?
Ed: ...Not that I recall.
Ed: And that's Otis, he's 77 years old and worked here longer than anyone.
Otis: I should've died years ago.
Dexter: Tough break.
Dexter:Haven't I seen you somewhere before?
Ed:Ever been to Australia?
Dexter: No.
Ed: Me neither.
I literally laughed out loud when I read that last one. That is my kind of humor all over, and I think it came from Good Burger.
Ed: This is DeeDee, she's a veterinarian, which means she doesn't eat fur.
@@michaelbarrasso6089 🤣
@@michaelbarrasso6089 that is technically correct
Curt: How does twenty dollars sound?
Ed: (crumbling a $20 bill in his hand next to his ear) I don’t know. Sounds like crumbling paper.
I really loved this movie growing up, and still have a soft spot for it today. It was goofy in ALL of the best ways, and Abe Vigoda really did well, even though he felt like an odd choice to be in a kids' movie.
"Can you take me to the hospital; I think I broke my arse." lmfao
I remember renting this movie as a kid and watching it every day for 5 days straight. I also remember going to the Viacom store in Chicago and getting a Good Burger poster signed by Kenan & Kel in person. I really wish I'd had the discipline to take care of that poster instead of letting it get crushed in my messy closet over the years.
I still watch this movie TO THIS DAY! And still get the same laughs everytime. This movie is forever a timeless classic, always will have it in my collection
Luckily it's something that has remained on Netflix since day 1! 💚
"I'm a chicken; Moo!" What's best about this line is that I've grown up... to rescue roosters. People who recognize the line light up with nostalgia, and people who don't still get a chuckle more often than not.
Good burger is, and always will be, my favorite movie growing up as a kid! Still holds up amazing too. I still watch Kenan and Kel all the time too 🤣
I still remember the day my oldest brother came home from Block Buster and set down a stack of movies, one of which being Good Burger. Immediately after watching it we went to In n out and kept quoting the movie until he was sick of it lol good times
Its good to hear from someone else who thinks Kenan and Kel were huge parts of their childhoods. Honestly, those two were my idols growing up and I loved almost everything they were apart of as a kid. It hit me hard when I found out they went their separate ways and all the things and lows Kel went through as Kenan ignored him for many years but knowing they patched up their relationship, even if a little does make me happy all the same.
I always laughed so hard at the scene where Abe Vigoda is sleeping in the restaurant, I dunno why but the idea that he lives there is so funny to me.
Rather depressing, LOL.
I used to watch Kenan and Kel all the time as a child, and everytime I caught a rerun in my country, I watched it completely. But I know I wouldn't be able to revisit the show without crying so much of nostalgia.
"Welcome to the good burger home of the good burger can I take your order!"
Good Burger is my favorite 90s Nickelodeon movie.
“Im Kurt”
“Im ed”
“Im aware”
“I thought you said you were Kurt”
Is something I still quote to this day. God I love this movie.
As a high school teacher, I would show my freshmen students (born 2006/2007) movies from my childhood. Most of them they would be bored or question the quality. But when I played Goodburger, they loved it and became super invested. Shocked me.
Good Burger was the movie I rented sooo often whenever I was upset. Always cheered me up.
I recently rewatched this with my two daughters (their first time) even though they are not part of the generation they thought it was hilarious. They did say they thought alot of the scenes were silly and they absolutely thought the villian was really weird and that he was just soooooooo(sarcasm) evil (their words lol). I did enjoy explaining alot of 90s stuff to them. Thanks for the video! And yes that soundtrack.
Being a child of the nineties I absolutely adore this film so much of my humor came from a mix of those two between their three collaborations. Awesome video wasn’t expecting Johnny but great surprise
my grandma and i used to watch good burger ALL THE TIME! it was our favorite movie to watch together and we still quote it constantly. even for more of a late 90’s/early 2000’s kid like me good burger was just such a purely fun movie, it’s not trying to be anything other than a fun movie, and because of that the genuineness of it really shines through.
The first time I watched this film was when I was in middle school during the early 2010's, I think it was in PE class on a rainy day
And then last year, my boyfriend and I were looking for something to watch, and we saw that Good Burger was on a streaming service. I recalled the film just being charming and funny, and I was happy to see that the film still held up and was entertaining to watch, even for adults. Also I loved the moment at the end where Ed just had a moment of genius where he called out some kind of corporates or social disparity BS, it was so out of left field XD
My favorite part? sheesh son, all of it! we owned the VHS and my brother and I watched this movie to the point my parents were heavily annoyed but I consider Good Burger giving me some of the fondest memories of hanging with my brother and having a good laugh, no matter how many times we watched it. this movie will forever hold an irreplaceable spot in my heart and I say it still holds up today. ❤ Great video as always, keep it up!
my favorite quote,
"can you bring me to the hospital? I think I broke my ASS!"
a masterpiece will never be made like this again.
also don't mess with Kurt, or go into the GRINDER!
This movie was a big part of my childhood! My cousin and I used to watch this together quite a bit and always quoted it. I remember quite a time ago Nostalgia Critic shat on this movie, and I couldn’t get down with his opinion. Although it is absurd and whacky, that’s what made it great! Good times.
Saw it on the orange VHS in ‘97 and it changed my life. Still a heartfelt favorite to this day. ❤️🍔❤️ Countless classic Ed quotes. The disgusted “What for?” when Roxanne suggests they skip mini golf….🤣
it's what not to do on a date lol
My mom really enjoyed this movie throughout the years even tho she was way past the target demographic. Any time it came on TV she was hype. She was so happy when I finally got her a DVD of the movie so she could watch it whenever she wanted. I think she felt nostalgic for the 90s and the time when I was young.
Despite being born a decade after this movie released, I still consider it an incredible movie after watching it a year ago. Even watching this video makes me want to watch it again
I was 9 when i saw it in theaters! such a great film! glad you enjoyed it!
What a fun video! I didn't realize until I was much older that the credits song was a collab between Ed and LessThanJake! What a fun trip down memory lane.
I still can watch this movie over and over again and instantly get nostalgic goosebumps. Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchel impacted the 90s and early 2000s so much!! Mann those were the good ole days!!💕✨
A movie whose quotes live rent free in my head
"Who's Kurt?"
"I'm Kurt!"
"I'm Ed!"
"I'm aware!"
"You said you were Kurt..."
I was hoping you would bring up the sequel book! I read it a bunch of times as a kid but never really understood at the time why there wasn’t a movie to go along with it. At least we have the original to look back fondly on.
@torch bearer Someone wrote a book that served as a sequel. It was never adapted into a movie.
Fun little story the first time I ever saw this movie was about 3 years ago me and the love of my life we're waiting at the hospital for my daughter to be born we had been there for about a month and watching TV one night good burger came on I never seen it my girl swears to me it was a great movie so we watched it now every time I hear about it or see it I think back to that month or so we were in the hospital and waiting for my daughter to be brought into the world and you know just it's amazing what little things can trigger the best memories
Always had this playing in my room. I loved the orange VHS. The silliness of this movie just hits me perfectly.
They're going to do a sequel on Paramount+
Okay, so I was going back and forth between commenting, but since I've been implored...This is probably my favorite movie ever. Yes, nostalgia has a lot to do with that, but it was such a comfort throughout my life. To this day, I order my burger with "nothing on it, but the cheese and the meat". I find myself laughing out loud in a quiet room about "You make your sauce for Kurt." "Who's Kurt?" "I'm Kurt!" "I'm Ed!" "I'm aware!" "You said you were Kurt." Like Jordan and Johnny said, Ed is 100% genuine. Oh my goodness, I have so many thoughts and memories for this movie I'm having trouble processing them. Let me leave y'all with this: "It's okay, people! Her butt is fine!"
FINALLY!!! The Good Burger video! Thanks for a great video as usual ☺️
Thanks so much!
I work in a burger shop and I wear an Ed pin on my hat. I get so excited when people recognize him even 2 decades later
I HAVE WATCHED THIS MOVIE LIKE 7 TIMES IT IS LITERALLY AS GOOD AS THE ELF AND PULP FICTION. IT DESERVES TO BE WATCHED EVERY CHRISTMAS.
This is one of my favorite "guilty pleasure" films. So fun and silly! You can really apreciate the comedy especially if you have ever worked in fast food!
I watched the Good Burger movie so much as a child that I wore out that orange VHS. I have since passed this movie on to my kids, and it solidly ranks in their favorite movies to watch. Feels good man. Great video.
I grew up in the 90s so you doing all these videos is pure nostalgia. I remember watching All That, The Simpsons, and Mad TV every week.
This movie is my biggest guilty pleasure, from 40% of the jokes cracking me up to introducing me to my favorite band of all time: Less Than Jake
_"WELCOME TO GOOD BURGER. HOME OF THE GOOD BURGER. CAN I TAKE YOUR ORDER?"_
0:30 Throw in the collective network presence of all live action productions getting to be panelists on Figure It Out. I don’t know how many episodes they did combined, but it definitely expands the footprint
Use to watch this movie on a crappy little portable DVD player. Watched it probably over 100 times to escape a crappy childhood, this movie will always bring me some
Peace.
"Welcome to Good Burger, home of the Good Burger! May I take your order?" Lives rent free in my memory
As a 32 year old who for some reason still has an internet banking password based on a play on a particularly memorable line in this film I can say it still lives with my every day 🤣
I've seen this movie exactly ONCE. Once as a kid, way back when, and that's it. I'm not American, so I had no idea about All That, Keenan & Kel, Nickelodeon, anything. To me it was just another 90s comedy movie. That I watched in like, 2004 or something.
And I STILL remember some of the moments vividly. I remember the premise. There movie really is something else, frfr. I gotta rewatch it, man.
To this day i still have that entire dance scene routine memorized. Good Burger and both Kenan & Kel truly had a huge impact on my childhood
Kel came to my high school back 2012 my senior year and everybody starting singing the All That theme song and we said "Welcome to Good Burger, home of the the Good Burger; Can I take your order?" and many other quotable for the movie and both All That and Kenan and Kel show. the was best day for me that year.
I love the part after Kel tells Shaw that he’s been tomatoed.. Shaw looks at him seriously and asks: Ur not like other people are u?” LOL clearly Shaquille is not like other people either 😂 too funny!!
I loved this movie when I was a kid! The jokes, the characters. It was so good for me when I was a kid, I rewatched it recently as an adult and it still made me laugh out loud
I loved the physical comedy and the sets. The particular scene where they are sneaking into mondo burger via the roof and the giant straw was by far my favorite part.
I grew up in the 90's and early 2000's and watched Kenan and Kel and enjoyed it but never remembered watching, or at least retaining, Good Burger. My cousins were watching it a few years ago and it felt like the first time I saw it and I didn't like it much. But I can see why people love it and still enjoy it.
I knew I liked your channel for a reason. This movie is probably my favorite from my childhood, just ahead of George of the Jungle and the Power Ranger Movie.
I watched good burger in theaters and loved it I also had the soundtrack on cd playing track 6 a lot trying to learn the words to We're All Dudes kenan and kel was the the Walter Matthau and jack lemon of my generation cause their chemistry and comedic timing between the 2 of them was that good and if snl had accepted them both cause kel did audition for snl but they passed on him they would have had another john belushi and Dan Aykroyd situation on there hands that’s just how well they worked well together good burger was so good from Ed just being Ed and dexter taking advantage of that while also trying to get a date with a co-worker he found attractive
I love this movie! I'm looking forward to the sequel.
I work at a fast food place. Everytime I take an order, I took inspiration from Ed. Being like "welcome to bk, home of whopper. Can I take ur order?". I loved the reactions because almost everyone knew where it came from. Not to mention during donation times, we was racking up from the love. (Hope I don't get in trouble for that). My fondest memory in my childhood was when all of my cousins and I would have sleepovers. We would watch All That and Kenan and Kel. When Good Burger came out, we all watched it together. The duo was a big part of my childhood. Like they say, laughter bring the world together.
Nov.22.2023 is the day good buger 2 comes out and i cant wait to stream it
I love this video. You couldn’t have been more spot on about the dynamic between Dexter and Ed.
Customer: “I’ll see you in Hell!”
Ed: “Okay, see you there!”
Best scene in the movie 😂
“Welcome to good burger, home of the good birder, may I take your order?”
I still quote that to this day
Good Burger was the only good movie available for rent on the VHS kiosk at the gas station in my one-traffic-light hometown. Truly a lifeline.
I didn't really grow up watching much TV, so I didn't know about All That or Keenan and Kel until years later, but I saw Good Burger as a kid and it was one of my favorite movies.
dude, seriously, it's so iconic & still the goat after all these years; i think we all wanted our first car to be the burger mobile when we were growing up
@@pleaseshutup7053 well, maybe that's just me
I was born in Cleveland in 1987 and was a hardcore nickelodeon 90s kid. In August 1997 my dad got a new job and my family moved to NJ. My mom took me to see Good Burger right before we moved. I'll always remember that as the ending to the first chapter of my childhood. The nostalgia hits hard.
Some of my favorite moments from the movie!
• The introduction to Ed where he's shown skating to work and ends up arriving at Good 🍔 with a flip over the counter right as the angry customer was about to call for the manager!
• Dexter and Ed pretending to be ladies looking for the ladies' room and Dexter faking dying of dehydration and slaps the Mondo 🍔 employee repeatedly telling him to hurry up with the water!
• Mr. Wheat waking up one morning and going to check his mail only to witness Ed running the 🍔- mobile into into his 📫 and him yelling "HEY! GET BACK HERE!" while Ed is still driving off acting like it never happened 🤣
I’m 38 years old and can honestly say I like this movie just as much, if not more than the very first time I saw it when it released on VHS. It’s the definition of nostalgia for me. And unlike a lot of movies aimed towards kids at the time it has a lot of humor that I find even more funny as an adult. It’s written well and has some great cinematography. To top it all off, my own kids love this movie and they usually laugh off anything from my childhood as “old.”
Weird bit here, BUT, the past 3 to 4 weeks I've had a random cadence from my childhood stuck in my head that I couldn't place. I knew it just ended with "IM AWARE" and I couldn't place it. Figured I'd never remember where that's from or the context in general would be lost on me. So, after missing a few uploads, I just binged your past few videos and when I heard just now "I'm Ed, I'm Kurt, I'm Ed, IM AWARE!" my mind was just blown cause that's the bit my brains been trying to remember lmao. Thanks Jordan
lol anytime
I just watched this movie yesterday and now I see Jordan uploaded this my favorite moves as an 90s kid
I never watched All That but I was a huge Kenan and Kel fan growing up and when this movie came out it became my favourite movie for the longest time
I loved this movie and I miss the Kenan and Kel combo. Also great collab
Thanks so much for watching and for the support!
ive litterally been watching this movie before bed every night for the last month. so comforting.
Good burger lives rent free in my head I constantly bring up welcome to good burger refferences
Just finished rewatching it. Still funny!
I can watch that movie over & over. It’ll always have a spot in my heart.
I still drop a random "Ed! What are you doing in the milkshake machine??? I'm fixing it! WoOoOoOoOah!" every now and then when I'm playin with the boys. A classic
The music in this movie was so so good and a lot of what I love today is because of this movie
"Remember, when you mess with Good Burger...YOU GO INTO THE GRINDER!!!"
*looks at paper*
"I know some of these words."
That line kills me everytime.
When I was little my mom, apparently, *rushed* home from work to make sure she could record this movie onto VHS when it premiered on nickelodeon. I was too young to really hold onto any detail, so to this day I only have a vague sense of what it actually was, but my mother *remembers* this movie. Like, a few years back I cut my hair at a funny length and wound up with a really weird bob, and she immediately, without missing a beat, opened that conversation with "Welcome to Good Burger."
*"YIPPEE SKIPPEE!"* - My favorite line by Ed. 😄👍
i was waiting for this one! for the longest time i believed this was a continuation of kenan & kel show
Good Burger, All That, and Kenan and Kell were big parts of my childhood too. I also still like the soundtrack for Good Burger as well.
I loved this growing up and when it was on VHS the tape was a Nickelodeon orange and I loved it because it was so different. My favorite scene will always will be the car chase with Ed throwing ice cream.
Awesome Video Jordan!!!!! Thank you for putting out this amazing video on my birthday haha. Keep being you and sharing your passions with us. I am sure I am not alone When I say I love your work. I've been following you since the Spyro days and I hope I can finally meet you at too many games tomorrow. Thank you again Jordan for always showing us it is fun and awesome to be true to yourself and your passions and do what you want to do.
Thanks so much for the kind words and long time support! Happy birthday!
This is one of my ABSOLUTE favorite movies ever, I show it to my 9 year old niece and she LOVED it (and she usually gets bored easily with movies) it was magical
I love your videos so much my Jordan Fringe keep up the good work man
I was born in 97 and never watched either show but my dad watched this movie with us and despite not seeing the shows this movie really stood out to me and was really enjoyable to watch as a kid. I want to watch the shows now and I'd love to see a sequel. Great video!
I was born in 97, didn't watch this movie or Kenan & Kel until way later but I did see All That and The Amanda Show as a kid.
Good Burger will always, ALWAYS be a 90's classic 🔥
I remember it so well because I watch it every single year.
I adore Good Burger and I haven't even seen the shows! Ive only really seen a few clips when i was trying to fall asleep at night when i was younger! My dad actually introduced me to the movie and I'm very glad he did
Now this is one of my top 10 movies Kenan & Kel together always hilarious
The movie 100% stands on it's own. I'll be honest: didn't grow up in the 90's, didn't even know about Kenan & Kel before watching this video, but a couple years back a friend told me about Good Burger and I just loved it.
They should make a sequel to this movie, with the actors reprising their old roles, if they are still around. And you could make the premise that a big chicken sandwhich restaurant was encroaching on the Good burger place, and its up to kel and Kenan to save the day.
They are
The 90s-ness is a crucial part of the movie, and I'm worried that the sequel might not take that into account. If I were on the creative team for GB2, I'd have it still take place in the 90s, and just make a running joke of all the characters looking much older than they should, like in Wet Hot American Summer.
As someone who did not hav cable back in the 90s,i did not grow up watching all that or Kenan & Kel. It wasn't until nearly 20 years later when i was able to see these shows thru "the splat". When i saw the good burger movie for the first time, i finally understood why it was iconic
I watched this show on Nick a couple years ago and now that you talked about it, you really got me to realize how Dexter and Ed are a connected duo who respect eachother especially when Ed gave Dexter that yo-yo. I also remember that the giant burger fell on top of a car and as Dexter and Ed walk out from the scene, Dexter finally realizes how helpful it is to have Ed by his side. Thank you for another video of something from our past.
