Same! To be frank, I always disliked that one had to hide their godparents from even their inner circle. I don't think either of other well-known fairy godparent characters do that.
I like that Cosmo and Wanda are neighbors and have their own place that you can visit without being a fish… It was getting old Cosmo and Wanda hiding from Timmy’s parents that even the animators stopped caring and just had them blatantly as fairies in the same shot…
This is how a show keep going after you remove a major character from the story. (Some times it feels as if Timmy never left the show but do wish know what happen to Timmy)
I'm personally hoping that Dev didn't actually get his memory wiped since he was wearing his sunglasses, and that seems to be how Jorgan protects himself too. Dev was my favorite character in the show and it'd be a shame to have all of his development taken away like that.
This sequel show gives off major El Tigre meets the Ghost & Molly McGee vibes. It would be cool if the former got a sequel series with Manny & Frida as adults with three kids (one good, one evil, one in the middle).
A lot of people theorized that Dev didn't get his mind wiped as he was wearing his trademark shades and the look on his face was more surprised and dazed when compared to Dale's face after the memory erasing flash.
Why throw all that development away. We got to develop a love story between Dev and Hazel. I believe we will see them grow up, not stay 10 years old like Timmy
Do you think Dale's probably suffering from childhood trauma by Doug and Vicky when he was a kid? By the way Dale acts, it reminds me of Vicky for how she treats kids and pretends to be a nice caring babysitter in front of the adults. And for Dev, he seriously reminds me of Remy Buxaplenty in a way.
what i like about this reboot is that they took all the problems with the original and fixed them its still a silly show about a kid and their fairies but they actually expanded the lore and the actions of characters have consequences it isn't just resolved in one episode also the side characters aren't just punching bags for the main character they actually feel important

In spite of all odds, somehow it seems to have worked. I'm not one of those people who treat "reboot" as a dirty word, but this IP in particular being continued felt... entirely unnecessary and more like to fail than anything. Yet again, it goes to show that it comes down to specifics and execution.
It's genuinely impressive how this show manages to cast off so much of the seasonal rot that the original accumulated over the years all the while still being so insanely loyal to its predecessor and all the lore and characters from the early days of FOP.
I stopped caring about Reboots all the same after what they did to Power Puff Girls & Ben 10 now, they are all just the same to me... TTG was different though sorta so I won't mention that here, that was more like a reimagining than a reboot to me honestly as far as the OG series goes.
I don't mean to be a blind hater, but everything I have seen of TTG was bad. Like, even if it weren't related to Teen Titans it's bad. As for reboots in general, I'm sort of the same. But if I hear good things about it, like with A New Wish, I'd be interested and give it a try.

I really enjoyed this show. Honestly, I’d go as far to say that I like it more than the Og FOP. It’s very cute and hilarious and the characters aren’t obnoxious.
I truly enjoyed this new continuation of the Fairy Oddparents series. Great main Godkid for this new series and wonderful reintroduction to the FOP series as a whole.
The fact that they let the baby character who used to talk like a Pokemon grow up into an adult fairy with his own godkid and distinct personality Alone makes this show a stellar sequel series.
After watching the reivival into online months ago, I was special on how they would treat the series making a comeback 20 years later. It all sounds like it's all done by most of the same creative team which sounds all great to know from the in-depth synopsis ya bring Jordan. I have planned on giving this revival a try and I still plan onto eventually. Looks like a real fun ride as much as the og series.
It’s the best thing to come out of Fairly OddParents in years, so on that alone, I’d say it was a good idea. But if you want the full breakdown, get ready. It’s a cute and charming show that stands on its own while paying homage to the original. That said, it feels more like a standard kids’ show than the OG did, which had a bit more of an edge to it due to the more cynical nature of the humor. Timmy to me was also a much more interesting and relatable protagonist because of his flaws. His wishes were more creative and the ensuing chaos more absurd and entertaining. Hazel, by comparison, is more levelheaded and responsible, making her wishes feel kind of lackluster. Some of this might be due to budget constraints, but another part seems like the showrunners intentionally moving away from the OG’s absurd, slapstick style. For a show about a kid with nearly unlimited magical power, they grounded it a bit too much. The best part of the show is the dynamic between Dev Dimmadome and Peri. Their chemistry feels like classic Fairly OddParents and could’ve carried the series. Honestly, they should’ve been the main stars, with Cosmo and Wanda as recurring characters. Hazel could’ve just been Dev’s classmate without her own fairies. Speaking of Cosmo and Wanda, I appreciate them being equally goofy again. The “dumb husband, smart wife” dynamic from the later seasons wasn’t bad, but I get why people got tired of it. In this show, though, they took it too far and made Cosmo and Wanda straight-up incompetent. Hazel isn’t reckless like Timmy, so the chaos from her wishes feels forced, and this makes Cosmo and Wanda come off like bad fairies who can’t handle even basic tasks. Hazel’s wishes could have led to more natural consequences, but instead, we get random, goofy results like “pasta puberty.” Imagine if she wished to be friends with her teachers-she’d end up feeling isolated because she’s too young to relate to them. Or if she wished to be a teenager and had to deal with teenage responsibilities while missing out on her childhood. That would’ve been more interesting than what we got. I also wasn’t a fan of the finale and the status quo change. Letting multiple characters know about the fairies cheapens the magical world and Hazel’s relationship with Cosmo and Wanda. Turning it into more of an ensemble show would water down her character development, which reminds me of the OG series bloating the cast near the end. It feels like the writers struggled to come up with good wish ideas for Hazel. Timmy’s impulsiveness and laziness were perfect for a kid with unlimited power, but Hazel is too sensible to create the same kind of chaos. Her friends knowing about the fairies is most likely a way to give the writers more ideas for episodes and wishes. Plus, Hazel didn’t seem like she needed fairies in the first place. Her relationship with Cosmo and Wanda felt more like a bonus than a necessity. Adding her friends into the mix undermines the whole idea that fairies are supposed to help kids who truly need them. TL;DR: A New Wish is charming but falls short of the original. Hazel’s responsible nature makes her less interesting as a protagonist, Cosmo and Wanda’s incompetence feels overdone, and the wish outcomes lack creativity. The finale throws in too many characters in on the secret, making the magic less special. Dev and Peri shine as the best part of the show, but overall, it feels like the writers struggled to recreate the depth and humor of the OG series.
Do note, however, that Peri is not demanding a season two because he doesn’t want to the show to be cut short (that’s our reasoning). He was demanding it so that the show doesn’t have to end on a fart. Thus, he understands that toilet humor is the lowest form of comedy known to man. And this is the guy who once saved the universe with by farting; that is the definition of growing up right there 😂
I watched some of the show with my younger cousin (I’m in my 30s and he’s 16!) and we both really love what we watched despite laughing at different parts and liking different characters Honestly that was so refreshing, I’m happy there’s a show that adults and teens/kids can actually enjoy together even if for different aspects, they did a great job ❤

well they do still have sparky that was reveled in an ep so the dog does still exist sparky and poof i liked idc if people didn't like sparky i thought he was fun and funny. and i love the idea of a fairy dog

I was not expecting such optimistic news about Fairly Odd Parents after the last reviews I saw for it, but this actually looks really good! I'd be excited to watch this new series!

It was fun, it was cute, it was entertaining, I liked the callbacks, and I really REALLY wanna see how a Season 2 would go.
It was honestly good to see a fairly oddparents reboot that was actually good, but I do miss the old animation style.

I love the final scene was a fourth wall breaking joke about how the show ended on a fart joke and how they better get a season two
