    Make size templates with sign board. Place on fabric and cut around it. Will increase your efficiency ten folds.

    Hi Kayla.....Lynette here....and you did this all on your lil machine before you got the BIG DADDY!!! lol.....Good going....and you are using embrilliance fonts right? Love your channel....I still do not see you tape the water soluble onto the fabric....will it embroider on it if you don't??? thanks for the info

      Hi Lynette! Yes it will still embroider if you don't. Sometimes I don't use it on the minky dot because in my opinion it doesn't make much of a difference. Check out my video on using WSS vs. not.

    Do you have trouble with the flannel pilling? All my flannel from JoAnn’s does it. Is there a better quality that doesn’t??

      I haven't! I wash on delicate and hang to dry. No softener. That's also how I advise all my customers and I've never had any issues or complaints. Joanns definitely isn't the best. I also get flannel from Cali Quilt Co on Etsy 😊

    Question: do you every put like a piece of cotton in between the top and bottom layers, I’m think something to make the blanket a little warmer???

      Thank you Adassa! No i don't. I always wash in cold water and hang to dry and have had very minimal, if any, shrinking so I always advise my customers the same.

      I float the fabric on the hoop with adhesive spray instead of hopping it how you normally would 🙂

    Would a walking foot help with feeding the fabric evenly

      Minky fabric still likes to move though because it's so soft, so I still double up on pins lol

    They look adorable. Do you prewash the flannel? I’ve made the exact quilt, minky with flannel, and the flannel shrunk sooo much I had to take it apart.

      I don't! I wash in cold and hang to dry and I haven't had that problem. I keep hearing it more and more though and I have to admit it's making me nervous lol

    This might sound stupid. Is the measurements 27” wide by 35” length (height).

      Not stupid at all! Honestly, it depends on the pattern of the fabric. If the pattern can only go one way, like in my real time blanket video where the bears only go one way otherwise they're upside down, then I make the width the longest. If it's just a collage pattern and it doesn't particularly matter. I hope that makes sense.

    Question: are you using tender touch as stabilizer? If so, how do you like it? Does it hold up better than cut away?

      I only use tender touch on the backside of my garment when I make onesies. I use either cutaway or tear away stabilizer on my blankets. I don't really have a preference to which one is better. Honestly in this video all I had was cut away left so that's what I used LOL

      All of the patterns are super snuggle flannel and the backing is minky dot fabric, both from Joanns

    If you sew without pressing, you will never have the correct even measurements.

      I would LOVE to upgrade my sewing machine! My husband got me this machine our first Christmas together 7 years ago. It still works great for being a cheap Walmart one lol

      My table isn't big enough to cut in one shot with a rotary. This is just what works for me to be as accurate as possible 🙃

      Hi Linda! I use two rows of pins because minky fabric likes to slide and I don't want my fabrics to shift as I sew. Can never have too many pins 😉

    I love how you show the whole process, I just started sewing and I've made a ton of pillows lol but I want to make alot more other things , I'm just wondering, did you say you flannel for the character side of the blanket (the opposite of the minky fabric)?

    Thank you for showing how you do your mockups, I was wondering about that how I could do mine without wasting Minky Fabric but I do add a character above my name. Also do you prewash your Flannel or Cotton? I always wash my Minky with no problem but when I washed my flannel one time I didn't like the look of it after washing.

      Thank you! I learned it from Neita Fajita on her channel! She does appliqués on her blankets too so maybe her mock up video would be better for you ♥️ I don't prewash any of my fabric. I don't want to take the risk of anyone has allergies or sensitivities.

      @@KaylaKrische Thanks I watch her as well and I feel the same way about washing but then I work in a fabric store and see the bolts on the floor or at night the mice that run around so I'm worried about not washing or if I don't and the customer washes it the 1st time it'll pucker at the seams. I just try to get the cleanest bolts when I can :)

      Flannel shrinks a lot more than minky. Do they get misshapen after washing?

      @@Kate98755 I completely understand where you're coming from. One of my husband's cousins tragically died when she was little because a TV fell on her. I'm not perfect and I know accidents happen, so I do try to be very aware of what's going on in my studio, especially when my kids are around :) You also couldn't see that my husband was right outside of where my camera was filming playing with the kids. Just wanted to share that there was more going on than what was in the video.

    Thankful I came across this video by pure chance. I've had my embroidery machine for almost a year and have yet to use it. Scared for some odd reason. But, after seeing this I really need to try something simple like a name. Do you use a 1/4 in top stitch seam allowance for the finished blanket?
