Resident Evil 4 VR just released a new arcade style mercenaries mode so here's my first impressions! This was a part of the original RE4 game back in the day, so it will of course be free to anyone who has already purchased Resident Evil 4 VR.

Resident Evil 4 VR is always a blast to play so I'm glad I was able to jump back into it. I'm still debating whether The Mercenaries Mode is easier or tougher in VR. When you guys have a chance to play this, let me know what you think.

I like the way he plays vr games he doesn't get motion sickness and he acts like he's actually in the game
So cool and fun
I feel like motion sickness is more common for the people that already experience it, or people that don't play video games that often (especially FPS).
it's very hard to get motion sickness in vr

People who are new to vr get motion sick easier, the more you do it the easier it gets.
@@KyleDevy I was obviously referring to people who don't suffer from it in general. if you do IRL that would obviously translate to VR

VR makes me so nauseous but I appreciate listening to your commentary since I can’t stomach watching the footage!
I find the bigger the screen, the more nauseous it makes me. You can try watching it on a phone screen to see if it gets any better. Either way, I appreciate you listening to the commentary!
If you play it in small amounts and use the comfort settings, eventually you'll stop getting sick in vr...probably with watching it too.
You can get a quest and drink ginger ale, ginger helps block the chemicals in the brain that cause motion sickness
It's the small FOV and no smooth head movement.
I hope this comes out soon cause I really wanted to play this when I bought re4vr and was disappointed it wasn’t there so I’m definitely gonna spend 5 hours straight playing this

I loved that they made the hand Cannon much easier to earn. Just get 5 stars on the stages...that's it. So hunk for village, ada for castle and island stage thanks to sniper being easy in VR, and Wesker for military base because of headshot insta kill stun plus killer 7 for jj. Boom hand Cannon unlocked and it's amazing in VR
i just did krauser on all of em he is so easy to 5 star
I'm not very happy about it considering that I've gotten the handcannon TWICE the old way.
@@periodicbeast9994 same here , getting 5 stars on all 4 maps with all 5 characters…that’s 100 stars very time consuming to say the least
@@ant66.6 say a average mercenaries round is 3 minutes 3x20 is 60 minutes but sometimes you die so it usually takes 60-80 minutes
What about for dockside?
Mercenaries is a fine balance of finding time and getting kills. The chains give you a lot of points and so do the special enemies. Also the bonus time clocks feed off chains for 30 secs after you pick them up. I've always been the one unlocking everything on the Mercenaries on RE games for myself and my brother.

mercenaries was one of the scariest thing i cant imagine playing with it like this
if it scares you, personally i think it's a little easier in VR since you can turn around much quicker to see the chainsaw people right behind you. plus its an absolute blast so far

Did u try it? I was always terrified when i played on my console, but in vr it actually makes u feel like a badass, u are constantly moving, picking up ammo and stuff, its amazing.

Could definitely showcase more of The Mercenaries. The Challenges section is a huge can of worms in itself, and the unlockable stuff are a joy.
Once you get a feel for the bow, I'd say that Krauser is just amazing. Same with HUNK for still having that neck snap spam still.

As a pro sweaty mercenary player this gameplay was v hard to watch. For someone who's so good at the story mode, dante's a bot when it comes to the mercenaries lol.
I'm torn on Mercenaries to this very day; I feel the same way about it as I did back then. On the one hand it's fast-paced pure action fun. On the other, score-based game modes always tend to rub me the wrong way because playing in ways that maximize your score tend to feel really counter-intuitive and unnatural compared to how you would normally play the game, and I hate that...
I got the mercenaries days ago and I have the handcannon
The weird part is he has the Handcannon unlocked in the normal game so he’s clearly pretty good at Mercenaries, maybe it’s just the VR version making him play like he’s never touched the game before.
Oh I'm definitely jumping in to this, time to 5 star all the maps with all the characters for the fourth time

Seeing dante completely flail when trying krauser was great. The bow is strong as hell but with it being immersive the way it is, it can be difficult to pick up lol.

I got the oculus because of watching you play RE4 and really wanted it. I've been waiting for Mercenaries since November when I finished RE4 and noticed it wasn't included and checked weekly for it. This gon be fun boi.

Kinda crazy that they remade the point system when they already had the 300 per kill + 5000 per miniboss kill + 1000 per bonus kill, 60K = 5 Stars
Now accumulating kill streak not only get you the bonus, but the price of kill scale and 125K is equal to 5 stars, kinda like this.

unlocked the golden guns yesterday, i gotta say it man the hardest was the last challenge and the krauser challenge where u only get 50 arrows lol if u run out of arrows, the mission ends instantly

Dante u can switch the character skin when u go select Leon or Ada press the infinite symbol icon and u can change the ski. U want
Alrighty then. Dante if you're going to beat all the challenges and levels perfectly, you should know some of the neat features I discovered while playing. Grenades can just be thrown without pulling the pin, you can duel wield(obvious in a challenge), knife slashing is significantly faster, reload speed is as fast as you can go, when reloading pistols you can just press the trigger to automatically cock the gun, and shotguns in particular can fire really fast compared to the other versions of the game. I wish you luck man.
