This video was great and gave me a couple ideas I want to try. I think I'm going to try something with the corset boning idea as a replacement for foam or pillow padding in a digitigrade fursuit. If it works, it could really help with the heat!
Oh my goodness! You came to so many build solutions- I wish I had seen this video years ago when I built this guy: ruclips.net/video/CacxT1Ndn9w/видео.html One very important question!! I heard you say that the thicker delrin rod was not flexible enough for your needs- what thickness did you settle on? Thankyou so much for these videos, you are very generous to share your work ideas and process, you have inspired and informed a lot of changes for my future projects, I am grateful to have found your channel!!
I've been wanting to create an enormous demon costume for a while now, complete with drywall stilts and articulated arm extensions, and I've been so intimidated by the sheer size of the thing that I haven't even attempted to do any concept sketches. After watching this, attempting to build a gargantuan beasty feels so much more feasible. I do wish that Delrin rod wasn't so daggum expensive, though... Ah, well.
Kazplay Videos this is so much help! Ive wondered how to do these neck for a long time now. Yet, no one else seemed to want to share how they did it. Im totally going to try this and im definitely going to share it with other fursuit artist
hey just thought i toss in an idea for makers who want to save money. I found that if you use the $0.99 aluminum 36"rulers they sell at home depot they save you about 75% of the cost from buying aluminum strips. i used them all the time for my skeletons under the suit. ;:-) PS, you are wickedly talented. Thank you for sharing these videos. i learned so much from you. GREAT JOB!!
You are an absolutely huge inspiration to me. I've been in love with puppetry since I was little and love animal characters and Hollywood creatures. Your tutorials make it way more approachable and feasible for me to make something too! I'm also a huge theater nerd so your love for the performance is greatly appreciated.
You are amazing! There are tons of process videos for advanced costumes and puppetry on youtube but so few are generous enough to really talk about and dissect there work for others to see. Thank you for this valuable resource!
I'm glad that it's valuable! I like to put out there what I figure out because I know people can build off this idea and make it better. I want the hobby to be elevated as a whole!
This is amazing! The neck is the part I was most interested in, to see how it's build. The flexibility of the bone structure is incredible. Watched a few of your videos but hadn't seen the cardboard version before, I'm surprised how much effort must have gone into that already. On stage, I noticed that you didn't walk all the way to the other side, but stayed on the left. Did you plan it this way, due to your limited vision? Guess navigation can be really difficult when you can only look at your feet. Somehow it worked really well from a roleplay perspective, I felt :)
+Fungy thank you! So with the stage walk there was some things that went wrong with that whole thing, for details you can watch my Blizzcon recap video. But the short answer is that I did have very limited vision and got lost on stage,
Hi! I’m thinking about cosplaying Obstagoon from Pokémon Sword/Shield. Obstagoon has a longer neck than a human does, so I wanted to make something similar to this, but smaller. I wasn’t going to make it a puppet, just a slightly longer neck where I see out of the mouth. Before I made it, I have a few questions 1) how comfortable is it? 2)how easy was it to make? 3) How hot is it in there? 4) how good is the vision? 5) Any tips? Thanks!
1)This was fairly lightweight and the weight was distributed well on my body 2) difficult, you'll need special tools for cutting and forming aluminum, I had lots of help there. 3) it's hot, but good news is there is PLENTY of room for fans 4) terrible! I definitely didn't do well making the vision good for this project 5) try it on lots at every stage so you can find problems early!
Do you think this neck structure would work for the king of red lions (the boat) from wind waker? His neck and head is mounted to the boat but swivels to look back at link (mc) to talk
+icepick method that would help if you had a problem with the neck sliding forward and off your body. But what I did held it securely enough. But make it an elastic strap so you still have some flexibility
This neck was a tough one! Did the video help inspire you to try and build something?

oh neat! I didn't even think of that, thanks!
I'm really impressed with how lightweight the neck is!

Great! hope you get to build some awesome things!
I would so love to take up lessons with you in learning how to build such amazing costumes and cosplays; you're absolutely amazing!
what a smart way to do this. lots of cool ideas can come off this
Had no idea you’re on YT. Now I have some vids to watch!

I'm only 12 but I'm gathering as much knowledge as I can so I could try to do something like this when I'm old enough (to buy materials etc) °3°
+Online Potato awesome! Keep studying and be patient with yourself and you'll get there! Good luck :)

Thanks! Me and my friend are making fursuits to help us to get more experience ^-^
Excellent work, you're a true special-effects artist!
Aww thank you!
@@KazplayVideos, no need to thank, jus' stating the obvious. :^D
Oh my goodness, very cute!
Thanks!
@@KazplayVideos You're welcome!
Love your builds this is so interesting !!
Loving all of these videos on the full build of Hogger. And I have to say I'm most curious about how you did the hinge on the head for the jaw
that answer will come in my head breakdown video! the short answer is that I used this technique ruclips.net/video/_s0T3W61sio/видео.html

good job
Very Good ❤
Have you ever thought of doing a quad cosplay?
Wow!!!🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺
Hi my name is chad landis Jr and I was wondering how you make hogger

3) it's hot, but good news is there is PLENTY of room for fans
4) terrible! I definitely didn't do well making the vision good for this project
5) try it on lots at every stage so you can find problems early!
I have a question how do you see in it
Admittedly not very well. There was a hole in the bottom of the neck
You should be working in a property Dept!
Do you think this neck structure would work for the king of red lions (the boat) from wind waker? His neck and head is mounted to the boat but swivels to look back at link (mc) to talk
Hmmmm, the king of red lion's neck is pretty skinny so there is probably a better solution. But who knows until you try it out!
How did you bend the aluminum rods that well? Get them just right? What video did you use? I've never worked with it but need to for my next project.
I had help from a friend who has a machine shop, let me use their sheet metal roller. But at home you can make a custom jig to bend it around
@@KazplayVideos With as much metal as I need to bend I might go ahead and chip out the $300 for the bending tool on amazon I found.
Would a strap from the back of the neck to a belt on your waist help at all, or just mess with your back?
+icepick method that would help if you had a problem with the neck sliding forward and off your body. But what I did held it securely enough. But make it an elastic strap so you still have some flexibility
They should’ve used that in the Lion King broadway
That would have been fun :D
Is Holger a Hyena?
Imagine a little kid wearing that XD it wouldn’t fit and they wouldn’t be able to reach the head to make it move
Seeing costumes without the outside look so ridiculous. I always laugh at my projects when they look so strange without the form of it
#wantedHogger
Can you make me a hole hogger costume for age 8 in time for Halloween
