I work at an indoor play place, and we've been looking for something to replace the big walk-around character to perform during birthday parties and such. Something like this would definitely catch the kids' attention I bet! Very informative! Thanks! ^^
Thank you so much for this!! I've been looking for a better tutorial or something to help make a puppet myself, but couldn't find very much, and didn't really know how I was gonna tackle the neck- fortunately you're over here saving my life with this incredibly in depth video :D
I got a TON of inspiration from this, and I’m currently making a puppet of my own! Hopefully when finished I can post about it and possibly share it with you!
If you want to do a lighter set of horns in the future: Do the shape you want in paper machet, having a layer of tape on top to draw out your pattern, then use the pattern you cut out from the paper machet, and draw it on some craft foam. You then tape the edges of the pattern together while you stuff the horns with paper towel, or a thick stuffing material(to recreate the fullness of the shape you want). Once it's put together, you cover the horns with hot glue, which also gives you the chance to texture the horns the way you want! Once the hot glue has dried and hardened, get the stuffing out, and it will leave you with really nice, lightweight horns! Then you just paint them how you want, and if you want to seal the paint, I used Mr. Super Clear. Hope that helps with future projects!!!💙🐲💙
Thank you so much for this video! I recently messed up on the puppet I was making (and was feeling really discouraged) but seeing how you kept going even when you had struggles really encouraged me!
Love you dragon! Absolutely gorgeous❤❤ (For anyone using contact cement it is ridiculously dangerous for your lungs. Always work in a open ventilated area and if possible with a respirator mask. Be safe 😁)
How does the mechanism work? Do the rubber bands keep the eyes open or cause the closing?🤔 Is it possible to get a diagram of how the mechanism works as I'm making a double eyed dragon and want to use this mechanism 😊
@@HigimuraStudios the rubber bands provide the tension that you pull against to close the eyes, making them snap back into position. I'm afraid its a super complicated system and I can't get back into the puppet without cutting it open now. I'd recommend making a simpler mechanism like this one: ruclips.net/video/4e-Y5e2ttWY/видео.html
