Hehe Thank you so much for commissioning me, and for the opportunity to make this lovely tail and tutorial! I hope it brings you lots of happy memories!
I have no clue why this showed up on my recommended, I’m not a furry, but damn i respect the amount of work that going into fur suits and their accessories and stuff. It’s honestly impressive
Most sewing machines that can do a zigzag stitch will also have settings for doing buttonholes; those will also give you a satin stitch as it's basically just a zigzag, set to whatever width you want, with the length set *extremely* short, so that each stitch is basically right beside the one before it. You might find that you need to tweak your tension settings a bit, especially if your fabric is at all stretchy; keep an eye out for truly impressive snarls happening on the underside! If that happens, you'll want to experiment on some scrap to get it just right, but usually you'll want to start off by tightening your tension up just the wee-est hair.
When you’re working with a new material, it saves so much time to take a couple scraps and sew them together with your intended thread, stitch, and tension to check that they work.
Even though I’m probaly never gonna do this, I still watched the whole thing and the way you went through it all with all that patience is amazing. I would give up in 5 minutes

Very nice video and tail! You explain things so well! :D But I do have a tip for the voice over - using room tone too fill in the audio gaps. Basically using the audio of your silent room instead of having no sound in your pauses, it makes everything sound more natural.
Thank you for explaining the satin stitch!!! I had been trying to figure that out for months but could never word it properly to find what I was looking for.

Also, you seem to be tired in the voice over! Dont let anyone of us presure you to overwork yourself. Remember, self care is stil important so always keep that in mind. You are an amazing person so don't overwork yourself!
Gotta admit, this is a pretty awesome project! I might actually try this myself one of these days. Though word of advice, when cutting faux fur, don't cut through it like you did in this video. Instead, do a hard press and glide on the back of the fabric. This way, you'll not risk cutting the actual fur and make a bigger mess. That and you'll only have to worry about slightly loose fur on the edges, which should be easy to manage and pull to keep it from making a mess........ Um, sorry if I seemed a bit bossy with my advice. ^~^;
I know what you mean; I do it too, where you take the tip of the scissors on the fur side of the fabric, and run it right along the actual fabric, sort of like doing a part in your hair with the pointy tip of a comb handle, or something, so even if the fur isn't carefully parted along where you're going to cut (which is what I had, unnecessarily, heh, started out by doing), you still won't be cutting through the fur, just the anchoring fabric. You'll inevitably lose a little bit of fur anyways, just from it pulling out from right beside the cut edge of the fabric; but after the first time I just went and cut funfur without thinking about what was happening to the actual fur itself in relation to my scissors, I've always been extra careful, ha ha! Don't really need my work to unexpectedly have Dumb & Dumber bangs lol
@@Neffertity *blushes in embarrassment* Oh. Well, goes to show what I know........... Then again, while I have been sewing by hand since high school, I'm technically still a learner when it comes to making stuffed animals, dolls, and clothes. Soooooo, yeah. This tutorial and the feline tail tutorial was very helpful. Finishing up a canine tail for my daughter. Thank you💕🐺
Hi! Thank you sooo much for all these amazing tutorials! I'm going to soon enough make my first fursuit of my Dutch angel dragon. If possible, can you try making / selling a Dutchie tail mapping like how you had for the wolf tail? It would mean a lot! Thanks in advance and you're awesome! ♥️♥️
Possibly
@@Neffertity If you get the time to I would enjoy it! Also u amazing and so good at what you do and I really enjoy these tutorials!
onhh i love your icon i love yokai watch!!!
Thank you so much. This tutorial will really help me with my own little tail idea that went so wrong the first time and did not work out the way I hoped it would. Trying to build something along these same lines that has nice flowing wiggles, but can also articulate and bend in different ways
I HIGHLY recommend wearing a mask when you brush/cut your fur, mainly because fur just gets everywhere and it gets in your nose in your mouth sometimes😅
Yeah, I started doing that not too long ago
Yeah, I recommend wearing a mask or else you can get something called groomers lungs!
y'all i was the 1,000th like i feel so ~special~
Neffertity's tutorials are like the only things that have given me enough skill to make my halloween costume XD
Hi am a glad you are ok.
Making a character rn with a tail, and this came up at the perfect time. 🛐
Casually watching all your fursuit videos to trick the RUclips algorithm into recommending me furry videos.
Im not gonna mwke thie but its still so entertaining to see how som3one puts eo much work for it to come out gorgeous
I wish I could make this, but ofc my parents scream at me if they find out I want to make a tail. 😭
Relatable…
Incredible tutorial!!! Not personally a furry, but I love arts/crafts type stuff, and would love to eventually get into cosplay; this was really well explained and neat to see, hoping I eventually get an excuse to put these techniques to practice. TYSM!
I'm glad you found it informative!
You know I think RUclips is stalking me because I never searched anything up about furry items but….
HOW DID RUclips KNOW IM A FURRY!?
But anyways good job 👏🏼 this wad helpful and I made it! It looks incredible!!! Thank u ☺️

Hi! I followed this tutorial and I am SO IN LOVE with it already even tho I am not finished yet! Thank you so much for this tutorial!
THIS IS THE VID THAT MADE ME A FURRY-
This came out right on time as i'm starting to work on my feline tail using basically the same technique. Gave me the reasurance that it might actually come out the way i imagined it. Also nice tutorial :D
