Oh, man 🥺 Every single time he gets down, puts his hand on the soil and starts talking to his dog, I get senselessly emotional. The painful knot in your throat, the sore jaw, snuffy nose, blurry eyed kind of emotional. The kind that you can't fend off, no matter how hard you try. I just imagine how it must feel to go through the motions of reaching down to give your best girl/boy a belly rub (everyones favorite) and instead of finding their soft, warm, familiar fur- running your fingers through blades of damp, cold grass. Instead of finding a pot belly to pat while you tell them how good they are- your palm landing on motionless dirt while you tell them how much they're missed 😭 You picked the best place to bury your sweet girl. She's now one with the land and mountain that you love and appreciate so much.

Rain, after all, is the "Life Blood" of the Earth. No water, would mean zero Life!..It is so elemental. My mother tells me (and I remember), that as a child, living in Seattle, I would beg her to allow me to don rain gear, take an umbrella, and just sit outside in a small chair, enjoying the moderate rainfall that often happens in the Fall and Winter, in the Pacific NW. Rain is what makes our local environment so green, so beautiful to see. I still, at age 77, will grab a cop of coffee, and jump into my SUV and just vegetate for an hour, while Rain beats down on my car. It is a very "ZEN" experience for me, and for many folks, I am sure! Watching this video, I am with you, in spirit!
Most of my outdoor connection is through Boy Scouts with my oldest son. I wish I had shared this experience with my own father at his age. But, I agree 100% that connection with the outdoors is so important.

A good addition to the cabin would be a roll up awning in front. That way you could set out in the rain and enjoy the air. It would be a good time to visit the old shed again. I love old sheds when it rains with the tin roof. Remind me of working on the farm in the tobacco fields, when rain comes and everybody gets to relax and kick back on a old straight back chair or a 5-gallon bucket and just watch the rain come down. The smell of the damp earth and rain is incredible . Slipping and falling ain't no joke, had it happen many times, especially in icy conditions. Once walking my dog slipped in a sloped part of the driveway, early morning and everything was frozen solid as a bone. I had a sinus headache and my sinuses were completely stopped up. I hit so hard I did a complete brain reset, bounce my head off the frozen gravel. The dog comes over, like are you alright? I dunno, it took about two minutes to get operational again. When I did finally manage to stand up, I found out my sinus headache was gone and my sinuses were completely clear. I'm like Lord that was a pretty rough factory reset!
Great video Luke! I was watching your video as it was raining here in Michigan. I'm blessed to have deer, turkeys etc on my property too, I never get sick of watching them. Glad your back is doing better! ❤
Gladto hear that even though you got heavy rain, it was "only" 4 inches. I live in Live Oak, Florida, and we got almost 18". I have a friend who lost everything from flooding. Same thing happened with another Debbie 12 years ago. We hate that name for tropical storms! I hope the rest of NC was all right. Thank you for your great videos,!
Jeff from East Tennessee. The storm went by and zero rain. Here it’s been very dry and hot!! Hot and more hot! I spent a ton of money on watering my garden! My garden has done great but it has taken every extra second keeping it going! Your rain videos has been the only rain I get!! Rain videos are so relaxing! Thanks!!
I remember some years back I was out horse riding on a mountain top in the mountains of Wales, U.K. It was quite a windy day and a storm broke with torrential rain with thunder and lightening. The feeling was so exhilarating, for me and the horse I think, although I wasn’t sure how the horse was going to react. Bless his little cotton socks, he was brilliant, the only thing that bothered him was the high wind. Cantering through it at speed was an amazing feeling. When I got back down my body felt so alive and I had been so in touch with nature and the elements. We both enjoyed it I think, I just love being out in the rain and storms.
I always really enjoy finding you in my YT feed, its fantastic. Here's wishing you the best. Gonna enjoy this video as I prepare for my day! Thanks for bringing us your content. Cheers from Thunder Bay!

I love the rain (maybe not torrential storms) and I love watching it snow…not so much the shoveling though. lol. I hope people are managing ok with the storms from the hurricanes and Susie remained safe during your adventure. Safe travels! 💫⛈️🙏🏼
That's why I love Luke and Susie!!! The are real about it all like the rest of us average folks!! Hubby and I do a lot of silly stuff like them. Deff learning along the way ! And if you can't laugh at yourselves then by gosh why bother !!! It's all about just having fun and enjoying life!! Thanks guys your awesome!!!
I love the storms too. I get my best sleep on rainy stormy nights. It's so relaxing I wished it didn't stop too. I live in NYC and I live in an area surrounded with lots of trees and grass and it's beautiful when it rains.
The connection to the rain for me is the rain is feeding water to the Earth, filling the soil, the aquifers and the rivers and streams. Feeding water to the plants, the animals and the ecosystem. And the sound of rain on a roof or tarp is relaxing.
I love the rain when it's heavy and your all cosey inside. And you had my favourite meal for your tea...pasta and broccoli...now I am hungry ...enjoyed this video. Thankyou
I very much like your cabin. It sound wonderful in the rain or snow. I enjoy your sozy setup. I enjoy wherever you camp and your narratives, insights and descriptions of the surroundings and current events. I find you to be wise and generally upbeat! Nice how you visit your dog's awesome grave. It's not my idea of paradise but I enjoy your enjoyment of the place. Thank you!
Thank you for sharing lonewolf mountain with us. I really enjoy it. If you want, you could send rain to western NY, we really could us some. Thanks for the time you put into doing the videos ❤❤

I Really enjoy your channel ❤ you're nature's Translator thank you for being real.hi Susie
This channel and a few other RUclips channels inspired me to start my own channel. A few things to learn and work on and I'll be up and running. I love the outdoors. Love this channel
Storms are when it is easiest for me to let go, relax and watch TOGR!
I always appreciate when you say hello to your pup.. ❤ hope all is well with you and your fam
Luke buddy I've watched dozens of your videos - IMHO this one was the best. Keep 'em comin'.
You and Susie are Blessed to have such a beautiful place to go to.
Very relaxing. Great video!!! Enjoy just watching. Be safe
Watching this channel, listening to Luke is very peaceful! Nice way to end the day!! Cheers
What! A rain event like this and no tents for rain testing....:)
Id happily live in that cabin full time.
9:33 we lost our 9 year old Charlie to cancer this summer. Thanks for acknowledging these important ones in our lives ❤
And thanks again for this adventure👍👍👍👍👍
The end of a storm, is like end of the summer, its the end of the new and fresh, and the rebirth of life.
Thank you!
Thank you for what you do, watching your channel has rekindled my love for camping.
Thank you for sharing lonewolf mountain with us. I really enjoy it. If you want, you could send rain to western NY, we really could us some. Thanks for the time you put into doing the videos ❤❤
U definitely inspired me to get out do some camping with my son. As well as great insight into which gear is worth buying. Ty. Great content. Keep on going and I’ll keep on watching. 👍
