Yep, that jerk is in a lot of trouble...
Taxiway is runway 28R, that's scary.
The ATIS NOTAM started with "Do not land on 28R".
The fact that this guy didn't even checked it is even scarier.
Flying to an airport without checking current ATIS and without making/checking RT is not a good way to preserve your life...
During Sun N Fun they actually do land on the taxiway as 28R or 10L. But not DAYS before Sun N Fun starts. Even worse, the “pilot” seems to have misinterpreted not repeating everything back (to reduce comms congestion) as meaning he didn’t have to talk to ATC at all, he could just fly the route. Add a cocky attitude to the mix, and you have a seriously dangerous situation.
Can’t wait to hear the tower call on this one. Love that he doesn’t even seem to know about possible pilot deviation processes.
That thumbnail is pure perfection
perfect video with the audio. Thank you very much for this adding
Harrison Ford did this a few years ago
He had a totally different attitude, though... Less schmuck than this guy.
@BlueSkyUp_EU Yeah, because if you are aware of your flaws and mistakes and not an arrogant duche, you take the consequences and ask for apologies, and neither should you complain about any consequences when doing a near fatal mistake, well ... especially then. Showed that Harrison Ford is at least a good person, maybe not the best pilot but the better one compared to this duche. A miracle not more people die every die thinking how many arrogant idiots are allowed to fly single engine aircrafts.
--hole pilot the his license
Harrison did nothing of the sort along the lines of this bonehead. Didn’t properly read or follow the NOTAM. Didn’t talk to tower, etc. And definitely didn’t have this “pilot”’s (I use the term loosely here) attitude.
Good thing he was paying attention…
At least he wasn't late for the fly-in!
Hello 👋 from Kyrgyzstan 🇰🇬
My guess is that having touched ground or not, will make the difference from a disciplinary pov. And no one actually saw him touching, so I think he will more or less get away with it
Touching ground had nothing to do with it. “Careless and reckless” is just that, pure and simple. Misinterpreted two different parts of the NOTAM.
28L… lol… only one runway
For some event that taxiway is used as 28R.
@@andyalder7910 once he began calling the runway with a left or right the controller should have said something.
@@thatguy7085 Aircraft on the ground referred to 28 Left, offending aircraft didn't even contact tower. Watch "LAKELAND FLORIDA LANDING" recorded 14 years ago and see what is written on the runway one minute into that video. Notice anything odd about the numbers?

WAY too many people on here clearly have no idea how Lakeland during Sun N Fun works, didn’t read the NOTAM, didn’t watch the FAA video, fly both routes in a flight sim, and didn’t bother watching or listening to any of the activities there last week. People expect to be spoon-fed nowadays, and do none of the actual work. 2 days LGE RC there WAS a 28R and 10L. Just not BEFORE the event started and the NOTAMs and TFR went live. And not talking to controllers AT ALL was NEVER a thing, before, during, or after the event. Let’s hope this “pilot” stays away from Oshkosh.
