I used to be an iPhone lover for so many years, but since using the Samsung s21+ then upgrading to the Flip3, I honestly don't miss Apple products, which I thought I would never say. This phone is stunning, I got it in the green for a change and it's gorgeous! Battery hasn't been an issue for me, as I'm not reaching out to it as much as I would normally as the cover screen will show me any notifications that show plus its such a conversation starter too!
Finally someone who isn't biased, people will talk crap about Samsung without ever using it. But they make really amazing products and I'm sure if people gave them a chance they'd love it 🙂
@@simongutierrez4624 Samsung really do! I think for me it was iPhone felt more premium at one stage, so Samsung felt cheap and that really isn't the case anymore, there is so much you can do on an android phone than you can on IOS.
I've not even had the Flip3 for a week yet and already I love it. It's sleek design is is everything, it's quick and you can set a GIF as your cover screen, how cool is that!? I know people have their concerns which is natural, I mean come on, it's a folding phone! But technology is moving in this direction, and I'm down for it! :)

@@stacieway4465 Iphones do feel more premium at first, but once you start using a Samsung phone, you're shocked at what it can actually do, the 144hz display is game changing to me because it just feels soo smooth 😫
@@AhujaEnt that's right! I took my phone off charge today at 9am and its still on a healthy 73%. I've been working granted, but I've been checking out social media, texting and using it as I normally would like the s21+

@@intermarer9145 hands down best decision I've made. I felt like a slave to ios they literally make a new one every year! This feel of the heptic touch is refreshing. Contact photos are larger, you can customize the entire phone and not to mention you can customize the cover screen as well. Dowloabale themes are super cool but I avoid them simply bc I want to stay authentic with Samsung's look bc I've been an ios user for so long. Samsung pay is a thing! Just like Apple pay so you will not miss it. I've learned emojis will show up on an iPhone users screen just like ios emojis. As far as reacting to messages its kinda tricky I've heard there's a way to do it but I'm still figuring that part out. Face recognition is simple and easy same as finger print i.d, and you know how sometimes you miss notifications from ios? That doesn't happen with Samsung. OH and the notification sounds are cooler. Touch sense is smooth. And recorded videos can be saved as wallpapers if you don't care about your battery drainage. I go out alot and in the past day or so I've turned heads. (Introvert who likes to party here) And overall the flip part makes it that much more satisfying. I sometimes forget it's in my pocket. Still learning but I'll continue to update you. If you have questions I'll answer them
I've had many people ask about my phone as a worker in retail. This was while having the Z-Flip 5G, it seemed as if many folks knew nothing about the flip. Now I have the new one, went with the green and it looks stunning.

Great review - and totally true. I have had the Z Flip 3/Cream for a week and its been amazing. I went from iPhone 12 Pro Max which was huge and impossible to jog with it in my pocket. The Z Flip screen is just amazing. When you get one, then you get it because it does what my 12 Pro Max couldn't -- it folds in half.

Doing the same, iPhone 12 pro max , had the flip flyer only a days and it's much better than I expected in every way
I have one in lilac, on first launch day in the UK - 256gb, the lack of sd slot is annoying, but as I never used it on my old Note10+ 5G, doubt I'll miss it. The best feature; you can hang up 90s style on annoying people, I've missed 'slamming' the phone off :D
@bates417ify Average - pictures are nice, excellent in fact, but it lacks the time of flight sensor, auto focus seems to be AI driven and a lil slow, but the results are pretty decent - I always took my photos in pro mode on the note 10 anyway, so doing the same on this one produces similar results, but the MP range feels lower when digital zooming, way sooner than the note did. Low lights pretty good though
@bates417ify well its an excellent cam, but I would say the note 10 was better, more options, better zoom, so I hear ya

After using my Z Flip 3 for two weeks, my honest opinion is I frigging love my phone. I can never go back to owning nonfolding phones ever again.
How is daily battery life?
Marvellous phone (1 week usage since now). LDAC support, electronic payment even when close, Flex mode (very useful for videoconference!) and many more. I love it. No more bricks in my pocket.
And Apple still claims to be "Innovative" XD
give it time, a couple years to half a decade from now they'll make a folding screen and from their words it'll be "the first folding or flipping phone ever!"

Apple is just now introducing a 120htz display and only reserved for the pro models.
@@jayanimated7201 apple will for sure produce the best foldable. Samsung is needed only to feel out the consumer base, then apple annihilates by producing something perfect.
i have owned many generations of iphones & all were solid. This Zflip3 caught my eye and have owned mine for a few weeks no complaints only complement's from other people. Apple & Android phones are great these days & i do not see any reason to get caught up in the debate. The Zflip 3 is simple and compact and sleek and feels very durable. Awesome piece of tech & would recommend to anyone !

Turned my back on Sony and got my flip 3 today after years of waiting for another compact flagship that never happened I remember when phones used to be fun and had a lot of variation available this grabbed my attention immediately as it's different and fit's in your pocket currently loving it hopefully sony will take note for future phone releases

The visibility of the crease doesn't bother me. It's the feeling of it when running my thumbs across it. But I'm already in Day 4 with it and getting better at typing. Just some thing that takes time to get used to.

Same, seeing the crease does not bother me at all. Typing on this phone is taking time to getting used to. And I'm usually fast at texting.
Thats the first thing people say is the crease and how unsightly it is and takes a while to pursuade people that you really dont notice it. These people usually have creases in their foreheads so its just jealousy :D

Had mine on day of launch. I'm still obsessing over it. Love it so much. Had Note 9. I miss nothing and lack nothing
Literally everything you said is exactly what I have been telling people. I had a Note 20 Ultra, which was an upgrade from a Note 8.
While I absolutely loved the camera on that thing, it just felt like a slightly better version of my Note 8, which was already great.
I traded it in for Z Flip 3, knowing full well the technical sacrifices I was making. And I dont regret it AT ALL. This is legit one of the most fun phones I have had in a LONG time. I love it every single moment. Opening it and closing it is still fun and exciting even after having it since the 25th of August.
And btw, in the beginning, the battery was definitely one of my biggest adjustments to get used to and felt like the phone was dying so fast. But so many weeks later, and the battery lasts a lot longer. I think it is because of the fact that the first few days, the battery is trying to learn you usage habits and what not? idk the technicalities of it all but what I can say is that it is lasting me all day long, and it helps that I got the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, which also helps me use my phone a lot less.
Anyway, all in all, best phone I have had in a WHILE.
I've noticed that the battery is getting better for me over time as well.
I loooove the concept!!! but i'm still gonna wait a few more years until they bring us the BEST of the BEST in terms of "foldable smartphones"! I trust them!
They'll just keep improving things each year why not just wait forever?

Actually not a bad move. The dust is very annoying and the battery life will annoy you more. It has its advantages and disadvantages, but waiting for them to fix those 2 main things is definitely the way to go to bring your satisfaction way up even if the price is more.
@@hsp6798 when you put a good case on it the gap will be filled in and it won't get dust or lint trapped on the screen when it's folded and in your pocket or purse
My first phone was a Samsung then I got hooked onto apple. But this phone has pulled me back to Samsung, I had to have it! Can’t wait to experience it for myself.

It's noticeable in certain angles, but they've engineered the phone that it's hardly noticeable when looking at the phone at the right angle. I got the Z Fold 3 and hardly noticed the crease after a few days of using it. Not even the hidden LED hole punch camera. These are amazing phones.

@@charlesbannab2786 I'm located in USA, Texas. I'm not sure about 5G signal because I don't use it. I set up my network settings to LTE and it enougth for me.

Working in telecom my life is pretty much based around cellphones. I hated it at first because it was a downgrade on all points from my S20+, but it's starting to grow on me. I love that it looks like a Gameboy Advance SP haha
How is the battery life? I am also working in telecom and usage of a phone is high so I am a bit worried about the battery life of this phone.
@@yasiraltaf8757 it OK, standby is good, I turn off my mobile data when I'm not using the phone which helps alot especially indoors.

I have had my original Z flip for a year and half now . No scratches or any hiccups on my screen. Absolutely no issues at all. I will be trading it in for the flip 3 practically brand new.....

Are foldables practical or are we just bored with the same slab designs of the last 14 years that we are getting gung-ho for any thing that's different again? How much more productive are we really with it?
I don't understand the appeal of this one but the other one that folds into a bigger tablet seems a lot more practical. A phone that can replace your tablet would appeal to the masses. This one is definitely just a gimmick.
Yes for me. I use a smaller S10 because I don't want a large slab in my pocket when exercising. This solves the problem but to each their own.
As a female I find this foldable phone to be a much more desirable size than a non-folding phone.
That and I'm bored with the same slab designs of the last 14 years.
After 5 days with it.....
My biggest concern is the battery. I have had cronic battery anxiety since having, I have even charged twice in the same day. Although I put that down to new phone fun AND enabling the AOD (which I really miss). Turning AOD off does stop the battery from losing 1% every 10 minutes like it was.
Second is the camera. It CAN take a great picture and then other times it can take a really bad one and you can see it tried.
Whats good about the above is it can be addressed in software.
The hardware is a sight to behold, its beautiful.
I turn off the mobile data when I'm not at home, yea you don't need AOD really, and I set the outside display to the minimal one where the text is real small. If you have the carrier model you can enable mobile data in the quick toggles using ADB, I don't know why the carriers removed it. I'm OCD about my battery too but it's pretty manageable. I'm sure the flip successor will have a larger battery.
I also have a 15w wireless charger in my home and car so that helps when I put my phone down.
@@planetphatness I didnt want to go switching things off, especially mobile data. I have actually been impressed with the battery .I am ending days on 40% sometimes. I was only charging to 85% as the setting allows to save battery but that wasnt getting me through a day.
After turning the AOD off (from turning it on) I have noticed its mucch better. I also set a shit load of apps to deep sleep so maybe thats helped but so far I have not had to switch anything off that wasnt already on.

@@grantc8353 I'm usually around 45-50% after work after listening to podcasts all day and using airplane mode to keep the cellular amd wifi radio off, I charge it back to 85% after work, it usually takes about 20 minutes or so so no big deal. I'm usually around 60% at bedtime and that's with some youtube and gaming after dinner. As long as I top off around 4pm I'm good. If I don't charge it back to 85 after work I assume it would be around 10-15% at the end of the day. I'm OCD about having a charge, me seeing people using their phones at 1% triggers me 😄.

Had mine for a week now, besides the weak battery (which is manageable by turning off mobile data) I love it. It's a solid phone.
My battery usage got better over time. It optimizing to your usage.

There's nothing "stagnant" about phone designs at all. They're purposely providing you with micro improvements for the reiteration so that they could release a new phone every year.

I got a chance to hold and feel the phone. The size is perfect when folded and the LCd display when folded looks cool, but the center of screen has a crease that can not only be felt but is also visible. I do not like that. Moreover, you have to use both hands to open the phone and that is a big design drawback.
once you get used to it you can very easily open it with one hand! thats what i do all the time hehe
The moment you flip close an annoying call and hang on someone with a flip, believe me all your money is well paid off 😂

Hello nice review and I agree with you in fact I am going to buy it but I would like to associate it with a smartwatch and I liked the pairing z flip 3 and samsung galaxy watch 4 but the problem of the battery life of the watch 4 has slowed my decision . Could you give me some advice on what to do?
I'm contemplating purchasing this phone, I currently have a S10 and have had so many issues with screen protectors, I've purchased 6+ in the last 2.5 years I've had it. And I'm rather pedantic about my screen, so moving towards the Flip, my thinking is, less worry about the screen. HOWEVER, I don't wish to get a new phone and it be "less than" what I currently have.. Is it worthwhile me upgrading???
The only concern that I have is the battery life.. I was having at least 7hrs SOT with my S7Edge but it was broken a year back so I am using my mmom's old iPhone 5s for a year and charging it at least twice every day.. If it could go more than 5hrs per day (Not a very heavy user though) in further times, I'll definetely buy it.. Whan an amazing, trendy and awesome device it is..

I respectfully disagree with your premise that the Flip 3 is "completely unique in design." Case in point: less than a minute later, you say, "When it's fully open, it just looks like a normal phone. In fact, if I handed a Z Flip 3 to someone who has never seen the phone before, I don't think they'd think anything of it. It just looks like every other smartphone when it's completely open."
I might add that, when it's closed, it looks just any other smartphone would look folded in half. Linus over at Short Circuit makes a similar case in his review, "A Hater's Perpsective," even though he clearly likes the phone as a phone.
In the same category, closer to "completely unique in design" would more aptly describe the Motorola Razr 5G. Hear me out here. The Z Flip 3 is by almost every other measure the more versatile, more powerful, "better" smartphone. No questions there. But in terms of style and design, it is the Razr 5G that, even open, stands out as immediately recognizable in a sea of slabs. In today's market, it manages to be both unique and iconic simultaneously, which, one must admit, is a feat in itself.
Me personally? I wouldn't pay $1000 for either of them, much less $1400 or $1500. I'm a tech nut, but I'm seldom a first adopter. To all of you who relish taking that hit, you have my gratitude. It's not that I mind paying more to get more. I'm all about that. It's just that I don't want to pay a premium to be a beta tester.
And that's why I just picked up the Moto Razr 5G for $199 on T-Mobile. Yes, you read that right --- 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘩𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘵𝘺-𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘴. For a stylish --- and I believe, at this point, proven concept --- the Moto Razr 5G is a fun, dependable upper mid-tier smartphone, housing Motorola's legendary reception, lean Android build, and unique software features. At that price, it would be hard to disappoint me. But I don't think it will.
Enjoy your Z Flip 3! I've handled it. It's a nice phone, and if you're a fan of Samsung, and you want a smartphone that flips open, it's the way to go. But for completely unique design, you might have to keep looking.

The small battery and visible crease in the screen are unfortunately dealbreakers for me. It’s a shame because the way you talk about it in this video REALLY had me excited and engaged. Those are small things that really matter to me though.
Understandable! They don't bother me as much, but I can see why they could be deal breakers for some. Hopefully they find ways to improve them in the future!
Question. If you indent the screen with your fingernail but then take off the pre-installed screen protector, is the indentation still there?

i’m an iphone user for about 2 years now, and let me tell you it’s better than any android that i’ve had (due to the fact that my last phone was an oneplus 3 running android oreo, now i have iphone 11 pro max). Android at that time imo wasn’t pretty nor user friendly, and when i started using ios it was a whole different thing… i loved everything about it. and i swore in that day that i’d never buy an android again. But time went on and google released android 12 and oh my… i LOVE IT! it’s everything i was looking for when i switched to ios and so much more. I thought of switching to android again but since i had mine for less than 2 years, it did everything i wanted and androids didnt had anything to offer (for me) that would give me an urge to buy it… i didn’t buy it. but when i saw the flip 3… that urge went through the roof. Although i love it, i’ll stick around with my phone and wait a couple more years until samsung makes a foldable flagship (sort of a samsung s21 ultra foldable) thanks for reading my experience
I came from a iPhone 12, the only downgrade is battery life, no SIRI and the camera, besides those three things the ZFlip is better.

I’d like to see an update on battery. I’m hearing horror stories and don’t know if they’re just dramatically using their phone.

Honestly, I've had it for 5 days. Battery goes down pretty quickly, but I noticed that my chargers are always close (like my desk, car, bed, etc) so its really not a big deal. But if you're going out without access to it I'd definitely reduce the refresh rate and have an extra battery in hand. All in all, really not bad for me...
Battery learns about your usage and becomes better after learning. Plus I think some people are glued to there phones for extreme times which is more concerning then the size of this phones battery

The ZFlip 3 5G is sooo beautiful and classy if you prefer, but, imma wait for next year if they have better cameras and battery life about 4000-4500 mAh of battery juice.

I am intrigued, especially after seeing Verizon will give me $400 trade-in value for my iPhone 6s Plus. That’s almost twice what I paid for it. But I wonder how difficult it will be for me to move my account and files over and switch from iOS.
You sure you only got $400? I just traded in my S8 yesterday and they gave me $500 in credit. Today I checked the website and the home page is advertising $500 credit on ANY trade in. You either got $500 credit or you got screwed out of $100.

Not to say UDC tech won't get better - they definitely will- but for now, why not use a rear window display and use the amazing rear cameras that are guaranteed to be better than front cameras, while also allowing an uninterrupted front display?
Returning mine. Texting is not as easy as the s21 and battery is a huge thing. Then it gets way too dusty. The only 2 things I love about it is the folding in pocket feel and sign in placement but that's not enough for me to keep it and justify the price.
why don't they turn power saving mode instead of turning down to 60hz. Since sd888 is powerful enough, power saving mode wouldn't make the device slow
