I used a zephyrs g15 for years, good pc but really poor heat management, after 2 years I changed thermal paste and the gpu was black as if it were burned in fact the performance had dropped a lot. I bought a few months ago a g16 with i9 and 4070, it was always at 90 degrees, the body was burning. Without taking into account that the display had stains due to assembly defects. In a nutshell, poor quality control for what the product costs.
What I don't like about this laptop is that One trade-off of the small form factor is it has a max 125W TGP for the RTX4090 GPU. Other gaming laptops have a full 175W TGP for the 4090, which makes a huge difference, but those invariably result in much bulkier laptops. So it's a trade-off of performance for size.
Zephyrus laptops have been there for years as well and have been highly rated consistently. Razer Blade were the “first” of this kind sure, but they were also infamous for having poor cooling and overheating issues.
Love this laptop. I just wish it was less scratch sensitive. I had a long nail and opened it, now theres a permanent scratch on the back. Otherwise 10/10
It’s impressive but for £4K I just feel like there isn’t adequate cooling in such a small form factor. For the same price I could spec a gaming PC with a Ryzen 7800X3D and a RTX 4090 with 64 GB DDR5 RAM, 4TB SSD and plenty of cooling…
I'm not against paid ads that at least have these 2 things: 1. Proper disclosure 2. Doesn't feed the viewer straight-up lies like "best performing laptop on the market" or "faster than a desktop" (what kind of desktop remains to be seen, I take it as a desktop of the same price This is unfortunate because the G16 is an amazing laptop in its own right. Misleading the viewers won't make it a better laptop
Ram is soldered on, not a top end CPU and, GPU is underpowered at 115, should be at 140w and it has proprietary power charger. This is a high end laptop folks.
this or scar 18? main purpose is gaming but the idea of g16 being very light kinda attracts me, though i heard it won't run games as good as scar 18 even if they're both 4090, is that true? why is g16's performance less than scar 18's? is it cause of its compact size means smaller components or?
@@nicolaspaglione You can buy a desktop and then remote in using a cheap laptop with intel integrated graphics for a much better value. Gaming laptops are a scam for the most part.

It's a nice laptop but the way that Asus allows you to spec it is weird... The smaller version comes with a higher resolution display and the 4090 version only comes with a U7 compared to the 4060 version, which comes with a U9.
The fact that this is thin and has a 4090 means youve basically bought a cooker. I speak from experience, Ive got a razer blade 15 ..... Also a pc will mostly be faster than a laptop cause of the wattage
In countless tests it shows RTX4090 in a laptop consistently performing slightly worse than RTX4070Ti in a desktop never mind 4080, 4080 super or 4090 desktop GPUs. I switched from a desktop to a laptop as currently my job began to require me to travel often within multiple countries a few months at a time, so it pushed my hand. But trust me when I tell you the performance dip is way larger than I anticipated. Plus, the laptop cost me much more than the desktop I sold. I'd say go for a desktop setup and perhaps a handheld PC if you really need the extra portability on top of it.
Cooling system sucks I just got one… loud and overheats the computer throttling the hell out of it, blows air downward so if you put it on a stand hot air gets vented back in. OLED is fire tho
For casual gaming it's ok but for long time grinding game desktop is the only option, but ya laptops are really the replacement for desktop it's the future
Not true, it doesn't come with the highest performance available on a laptop. the part that you were surprised with the cooling is because the GPU wattage is massively reduced to get the laptop that thin.
It runs way too hot (read the reviews) and the screen is extremely wobbly, if they fix those issues and it’s actually a 3K resolution it definitely is the best gaming laptop
@@ImaEternal interesting!!! Slimmer body with 2 less air vents from the sides compared to last year and has better temps. Amazing! So its around 70s for both the gpu and cpu?
The 4090 in it isn't as powerful as a full size 4090 because they undervolte it wich means they give it less power because they can't cool it inside a small area like a laptop and also the laptop version has way less vram
