- I had the most amazing day adventuring on my 300! I just happened to find out about this woman's car meet on facebook and within a few hours I was out the door on my Rebel about to undertake my longest ride yet!
It was everything I could imagine and more. I fall more in love with this bike with every ride! I guess this is also my first real motovlog? Pretty crazy to think about.
How's everyone's riding season going so far? Leave a comment about your favorite day!
Thanks to all of you as always for watching and following along in my journey!

Nina and Burch both posting in one day! What a blessing
Heck yeah!😊🤘🏻
"I love you!"
"HELLLLLL YEAH!"
We must protect this woman at all costs, this is too wholesome.
I'm a newbie who's about to start the whole process (licensing, training, buying a bike, etc). I find these videos helpful and reassuring, so thank you for posting!
Great to see you riding so comfortably and confidently. Well done girl!,
Thank you so much!😊🤘🏻
Can I just say it’s so nice see you learn and the raw emotions and everything especially being a girl, your videos helped me so
Much thank you!
Thank you so much!!🤘🏻
Well as a student to be driving instructor i can see you're doing a great job. Great improvement. Letting the clutch slip a bit, and taking turns a bit wide are my only viewable remarks but these are things that come with practise and many miles. Great self confidence and almost at the first service interval.
I have anxiety when I ride too. I found comfort in being able to relate to some of what you spoke on in your video. I usually find riding more around my neighborhood and doing longer rides helps me boost my confidence. Also I have a Grom with a very loud exhaust on it and I do feel better knowing its louder in hopes that traffic around me can hear/see me more easily. I ride a 2020 Grom and from Chicago Illinois
I feel like the more I ride the better it gets but the anxiety/fear keeps me humbled and aware that what I’m doing is dangerous and I need to stay focused! I love having a louder exhaust also🤘🏻
omg ...what a difference from, your prior intimidation being on a bike and look at you now smashing that highway... congratulations young lady. you're an inspiration for many you and Burch rock!!!
You are doing well. I might say however, that when you start out in first it is normal to slowly let the clutch out and slip the clutch while the engine revs a little but when you shift to 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc. you should not slowly let the clutch out and allow it to slip a long time while the engine revs because that will wear the clutch out. Just pull in the clutch, shift from the lower gear to the next higher gear and then quickly let the clutch out and then after that, give it the gas.
keep it up! i just started riding about a month ago and ive loved every minute of learning the ropes. getting out on your own is such a good feeling!
Thank you! Ride safe!🤘🏻
Super happy for you! Love watching your progress as l am a new rider and also have a rebel. Today was my 3rd road ride since getting my permit. It was scary and exciting at the same time.
Thank you! That’s great! Ride safe and keep things at your own pace!🤘🏻
I always come back to this video because it is awesome seeing you go from getting the bike, to learning, to the hiccup that was the Harley class, and FINALLY out on your own riding. So freaking cool to see and so damn happy for you Nina. Great job, have fun and of course stay safe.
ahhh so glad to see you having a great time riding!! I just finished my MSF course and look forward to having solo adventures like this one. Stay safe and happy riding!!
Nice to see you having fun on your bike - its magic !
Your enthusiasm comes across loud and clear! Enjoyable to hear.
Really nice watching your progression, you're doing great! Enjoy the ride!
I’m so proud of you. You are doing an amazing job and really bring me joy. I loved learning to ride and it’s great to see you getting to learn. Especially from the one of the best riders there is to teach you 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you!!🤘🏻
You guys are motivating me to start the process 💪🏾
I love watching these videos ngl. I’m looking to get a Honda rebel 300 as my first bike
Motovlogs are the best and you totally should, I love mine!
You are doing a great job don't be hard on yourself . Love hearing you laugh and giggle cool cars thanks for sharing . Night riding is scary .
That’s awesome! Your doin great🤙🏼 glad to see your finally riding with some confidence
Thank you!!🤘🏻
It was a lot of fun hearing your reactions and the joy in your voice on your first trip. The excitement at waving then seeing the empty seat on Burch's bike was so good.
Thank you! I was super excited for that exact moment too.
I'm so jealous! Been riding for like years now, I'll never experience that new rider feeling again!, The excitement of figuring out the bike, the feeling of being on the road alone for the first time 😁 my first ever ride on the road was in 6 inches of snow on a 50cc! Couldn't feel my fingers at the end of the ride, but loved every minute 😂 your doing great btw!👍
You done a great job on your first solo outing!! 🥳🙌
Thank you!!🤘🏻
Love watching your videos. Same bike and basically at same level as you. Now I’m behind because only been on a tiny strip of highway, and not by myself. Oh shit Nina is ahead of me, time to push myself! Congrats on your accomplishments!
Don’t push yourself out of your comfort zone but I’m glad I can give you a lil confidence boost! Haha way to crush it out there, ride safe!!😊🤘🏻
That was awesome Nina… so happy to see you enjoying the bike and see all your progress. Burch was a good teacher lol ride same guys!
Thank you so much! And he’s always teaching me more and more!🤘🏻🎉
Hi Nina. Great video. Been following Burch for a while and looking to get a rebel. I wanted to comment on what you said for maps in your cardo.
If you have Siri, you can say "Hey Siri, increase notification volume" (I believe it is that) and you can have your map directions when using apple maps come in much louder than your music volume. For myself, I have been about 75 mph on the high way and can hear the turn by turn with no problem.
I also suggest Apple Maps over Google or Waze for one huge advantage (and if anyone reading this knows how to set other Waze or Google to do this it would be awesome). Apple uses visual queues opposed to distance. So for example, Google will say "in 1.4 mile, turn left" where Apple will say "at the next light, turn left" or "Go passed this road and at the next, turn left" which I find really nice to not have to take the eyes off the road as much but like you, I find it helpful to see the map as well to know if there is a crazy turn or something coming up.
Lastly, I had a similar issue with Quadlock and decided to get the Ram Quick Grip holder. Pro is the thing is awesome and phone slides in and is secure in half a second. Con is, it is big and can make the bar look cluttered but from the 7-8 kinds I have tried over the past few years, the quick grip wins.
Hope these tricks help and you guys ride safe
That new riding anxiety goes away eventually. One day you'll hop on and it'll just be natural and you won't even think about it
I think the anxiety is good too though! Keeps me humble and aware of my surroundings. I’m glad it’s dissipating when I ride though🤘🏻
Happy for you , proud of you
Thank you!!🤘🏻
Awesome
🤘🏻
Shock to the system seeing my home town from a youtuber I just started watching, lol. Great videos, keep it up.
🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 let's goooooooo
Great ride !
Thanks Tim!
1. Weaving to other bikers is best thing ever!
2. Nice too see you ride together on different bikes, talk about couple GOALS 🙌🏼
3. Wary satisfying hearing you laugh and enjoying the ride!
Thank you!!😊🤘🏻
Can you tell me how to weave with other bikers? I only learned how to weave through cones during the msf course
Encore!!!!
Great video Nina !!! 🤙🏽
Thank you!!🤘🏻
WOW! What an adventure. Beautiful cars, a beautiful bike and a beautiful couple! When I get my license I will ride down for the wedding! Keep me posted...
This was fun and informative to watch. Having someone that could ride with you is a wonderful thing. Wish I had someone that I could share the road with. I have the Honda rebel 500 and while I’m not a newbie I don’t have a lot of time riding the bike. I don’t like going alone as I am older, 65 years young to be exact and get nervous about riding alone. Good job!
You should look on Facebook and see if there are any riding groups around you!! I found a few groups I love from Facebook. Ride safe!🤘🏻
Great video. New exhaust was a great choice. Safe riding !
Thank you!! And I agree, I love that thing!🤘🏻
your confidence was so much better as the ride progressed :)
You gone done good! Happy for you.
Thank you!!🤘🏻
You have the best Rebel channel. I'm a lot like you in the sense that just a short trip around my town makes buying the Rebel worth it to me. I got my Rebel specifically for riding the back roads at about 45 mph just for fun. I don't ride it to work and it's not my primary transportation. Unfortunately as soon as I get on the road I have somebody in a car riding my butt. I could be doing 65 mph in a 35 zone and the cars insist on riding my butt. I don't know why. They don't ride my butt when I'm on the same road in my truck doing the speed limit. Looks like you live in a much larger town then I do here in FL but the other drivers are more respectful in your area. I'm jealous of your 45 mph roads where you can actually relax and enjoy cruising around. I'm constantly dealing with automobiles that don't want to share the road even on the back country roads. You are so lucky!
Fantastic ride out Nina on Honda 300 done great girl safe riding both of you thanks class videos 👍😊🇬🇧
Thank you!!🤘🏻 (Dundee born and raised 🏴)
They are some cool rides. 😎
Right?!🤘🏻
Good ride Nina! Have fun and be safe! 👍
Thank you!!🤘🏻
Your exhaust sounds great!
Well done Nina! First longer ride is definitely nerve wracking.
Thank you! And it absolutely was, I’m so happy though! Can’t wait to start doing longer riders
Hate that I’m so late to seeing this but I definitely get the new rider butterflies. I started riding pretty much last year and the butterflies do fade away after a little bit once you build enough confidence in your own riding abilities and confidence in fully knowing how your bike rides and becoming one with it. At least that’s been my experience. Can’t wait to see what other adventures y’all two have 🤙🏽
Thank you!!🤘🏻 sometimes I feel like the new rider butterflies keep me safe
lets go !!!!
🤘🏻🎉
Super proud you are getting out and riding and doing your thing. Awesome that you and Burch are out riding together. Excited to do next years group ride with you
Thank you! And I hadn’t even thought about it yet, maybe I will have to ride in next years group ride!!🤘🏻
@@KomotoVlogs well you are doing great now. Just imagine in a year how far you will come. Keep it up
For hearing the Cardo better, you might consider motorcycle earplugs like Alpine or Earpeace, unless you already ride with some. They can be a bit of a pain to keep track of, and if you forget to put them on before you put your helmet on, but I've found they take the edge off the loud exhaust on my bike as well as totally eliminate wind noise which makes it easier to hear my music and GPS through my headset, and other things like car horns. Just my two cents though, good work getting out there and riding, keep it up!
You’re gonna be good for Burch. You’ve got a good head on your shoulders.
I know all the feelings. I get anxious and excited too about riding, and yeah waving to other riders is freaking awesome.
The biker wave just makes me feel so cool😂
Good to see a beginner riders thoughts and experience of riding on main roads..it helps me as a beginner.
Love to hear this!🤘🏻
You did great!
Thank you!!😊🤘🏻
You have come sooooooo far!! Awesome ride, cool car show and fun video!!
Thanks momma Burch!😊💚
@@KomotoVlogs love ya girl! 💚
@@marthaburcham3509 love you!!💚
@@KomotoVlogs 🥰
That is just awesome, great job! Cant wait till my wife and I are at this stage. Were still riding the navis together and honing the wifes skills.
I loved my Navi for exactly that reason! Good luck to you both and ride safe!🤘🏻
Sweet VehiCross!!!!
Awesome first solo adventure! You are doing great. Definitely get a clear visor and use it if you anticipate being out late. You could also go with Sunglasses with the clear visor that can be stored in that tank bag during night.
I'm not sure if I just don't notice them as much but for me at least it felt like I was pelted WAY more during my early days of riding compared to now. It's like the bugs know you're new and go after you haha.
Thanks Link!! I wouldn’t wanna run a clear visor all the time but I will get one for late nights just in case!
And that’s hilarious, one of those “new rider” things the bugs just know😂😂
@@KomotoVlogs transition visors are nice too if they make one for your helmet. I got one for my Shoei rf1400 and it’s nice not having to switch visors if your out past dark.
Bike sounds pretty SWEET
Thank you!!
Holy moly, look at you! You rock! Good for you!!! Please drive like you’re invisible, like nobody can see you at all!
Thank you! And always!🤘🏻
Had my first solo ride too today also past msf course finally last week :) also congrats
Congrats!! Ride safe!🤘🏻
Cool car show Nina! Found your channel from the live stream last night
Heck yeah! Thanks for the support!
As a old biker , I have to say, you doing great, enjoying the ride :) Good MoJo lady .. You rock! Greatings from Belgium.
My Mrs just passed her classes and got her license, she just started riding her Rebel 300 to work. GG keep up the content, y’all are great!
Amazing! I’ve taken mine to work once so far but my job often requires a car so im using my weekends to ride as much as I can! Thank you and Ride safe!🤘🏻
Congrats on graduating to the 300 as your primary ride, your appearance makes me think you'd make a good motorcycle cop :-)
Thanks! And haha I think I’ve got a long way to go before maneuvering any bike that size!😂🤘🏻
i got my motorcycle license 7 years ago but I finally bought my own bike, rebel 600 last month. I practiced a couple of times with my husband in the parking lot and just like you, I freak out and I'm an overthinker. I decided to take my bike to my pilates class which is 5 minutes away, 2 weeks ago. It was my first time on the REAL street, alone, and OMG. I got to the studio and I was shaking. I almost called my husband to pick me up from the studio after I was done but I decided that I could do it. I rode home (another 5 minutes) I was less nervous and got home safely. I felt so proud of myself (my hands were still shaking like crazy!) I haven't ride my bike since then because I can't handle my anxiety...
Omgg I know this EXACT same feeling!! It happens sometimes if I haven’t ridden in a few days/weeks. Just break it down into what portion makes you nervous and worth through it- you got this!
I’m so nervous to get back out on my bike after a long break in practicing (due to deployment then winter). This helps a lot! Makes me feel excited to go give it a shot again
I’m so glad to hear that!! You got this! Ride safe out there🤘🏻
I rode down that same long twisty rode from Crofton to annap yesterday. It’s a relaxing one.
It’s an amazing road, love it!🤘🏻 Ride safe!
🎉
🤘🏻
What do you mean?!
You got over that bridge pretty well! XD
As always, your energy is fantastic
In the beginning into the highway you needed to let clutch out faster, sounds like it were releasing it a bit slow.
Try to press the release in quadlock while installing, it's easier that way
Foot position issue could be a simple lever adjustment ( depending on what's actually happening)
A small windshield will greatly help with the bugs.
Short person problems while parking ( I feel you) wait till you gotta back into a slightly inclined parking spot
Thanks Fran!!🤘🏻
I just got a Ninja 400 a month ago. The long trips alone feel amazing! It's the best feeling. Also, the bugs seem to be worse right when it starts getting dark. They are everywhere around that time!
Love it! Ride safe out there and watch out for those bugs😂🤘🏻
There's lights that turn with the bike but they are expensive.👍
So happy for you great job! I hope by now you let off the throttle while shifting
Thanks! And yes I do😂🤘🏻
Great riding Nina! You're on your way to becoming a pro! As for the helmet visor, my advice is get a clear visor. Even if you're planning on getting home before dark, things happen and you may be delayed. You'll just have to carry sunglasses with you. I have an HJC modular helmet with the built in drop down shade. I love it! I won't go back to a regular full face helmet without the drop down shade. I just hit the button and it's like instant sunglasses. Push the lever and they go back up. It's great because clouds may be moving over the sun and if you're wearing sunglasses, it may be too dark, so you stop to take them off, next thing you kniw, you need them again. Drop down shade is awesome!
Thank you!! The only thing is I love my helmet too much to switch! Plus it’s so dang sunny here sometimes I think I’ll have to keep rockin the tinted visor but maybe get some safety glasses or something! I wish my helmet came with the transition visor!
@@KomotoVlogs Yep, I hear ya. There are certain things I love and won't give up too. You can love more than one helmet.😏
I love your riding shoes. What brand are they? I have TCX waterproof shoes which are ok, but they're hot in the summer. I was checking yours out in another video and they look pretty sweet!
@@danasymosky5609 that’s true!! And they’re linked in my description, BILT Dexters!
@@KomotoVlogs Thanks! I'm sorry I didn't notice the links. Much appreciated!
I may have missed it but what tank bag is that?
What tank bag do you have? I just bought my Honda rebel 300 and looking at tank bag options
Love the content 😊 I was wondering how you have a gear indicator on your 300 or do they come with them because my 500 doesn't
The newer 300's and 500's come with them, I think it started in like 2020 or 21
You did amazing job for riding alone
Thank you!🤘🏻
Nice little trip, keep making more videos though!
Sure will!🤘🏻
What tank bag is that?
7:47 instant laughter, sorry, probably just because of the caffeine. my immediate thought was "Ah, her first bug-in-the-face, and now probably the last"
It was awful😂😂😂
I run an LM clamshell helmet with Bluetooth BM speaker, and it has a sun visor controlled by the left hand. Takes muscle memory to flip it up and down. Worth getting, but only available in solid colors unfortunately. There might be some more colorful clamshell with duel visors out there somewhere.
That sounds cool. I love my helmet too much to switch it up! Think I’ll go with bringing a clear visor or bring some clear glasses!
I actually like heel-toe shifters more after working with them a while. Downshifting is the same, but you can just press down with your heel to upshift... its so much easier.
Interesting, I’ll look into them. my issue is my feet are above my shifter and brake at the moment… just gotta get my feet on my pegs not hovering above!
I've loved watching your progress over the course of your videos. It gives me great hope that my girlfriend can join me on rides some day
I hope she does!! Ride safe out there🤘🏻
Hey, do it have a fuel gauge?
Just passed the MSF! going to go to the DMV this week but Im not sure what bike to look for. I was thinking of the Rebel or the Meteor 350 from RE
Congratulations!!🎉🤘🏻 The Rebel is an amazing beginner bike!
If you want to ride with visor up y’all should be wearing eye protection. The sell clear motorcycle glasses that can be worn with your helmet. If something goes into your eye it could cause you to wreck which in turn can cause someone else to crash.
Yep! Agreed. I ride with safety glasses!
Congrats girl!!! YOURE DOING GREAT!!! 😃
Btw which phone mount did you get ?
Thank you!!🤘🏻And I use quad lock! That’s the one I’m struggling with actually getting my phone on but I do trust it the most out of the other options!
I wanna go out and ride and have fun too. :( I hope I get my license soon.
Looks like you’re getting the hang of it. Once you get better watch you’ll probably be wanting a bike with more power
Absolutely! Burch and I had already been talking about what would be best for me!
The more you ride the better you'll get!
Absolutely!🤘🏻
5:29 Does it help using left thumb to push the lever and right hand to put it on? (Seriously, no issue with needing two hands to clamp on the phone imo. If you want to be in the 1 hand only club, maybe rotate the lever around if it helps? Find a sweet spot if there is one.. I still haven't found one)
So far I just can’t get my phone to lie flat on the quadlock and that seems to be my issue! Not sure!
Have you tried adjusting the shift lever? I know sometimes the shifter position (too high or too low) can make it feel like your foot position is off but adjusting it may help accommodate your natural foot position!
This is a good idea, I do think the position is correct but I'll take a look! Thank you!!
Can you please recommend a good driver back rest for rebel 500 ? thank you !
I’m unfamiliar with the 500 or any mods for it but I would recommend joining a Facebook forum/group!
This is SO great Nina!! I just discovered Burch's video of him teaching you for the first time on the Rebel and so I'm so glad you started your own channel so we can see your progress and all you're learning. I'm also in the beginning of the process and so these videos help me a lot. Thank you so much and I hope you keep posting! You've come so far since the first video, its heartwarming to watch :)
where does one get that tank bagg? super cool
It’s SW motech! Here is the link sw-motech.us/products/luggage/Legend+Gear/tank+bag/4052572034378.htm
Hell ya Nina! I’ve had the 1st to N problem a few times, so on left turns Im always sure to get into 2nd early before leaning, worst feeling going into neutral in a lean!
How are the risers?!
I hear ya, and I LOVE them!! Such a game changer, I would say my fatigue has been cut in half, I can ride for a lot longer!
@@KomotoVlogs right on! May have to get a set, thanks!
I'm having that issue wid foot Position not shifting properly when wearing my boots
I have a amazing riding shoes that are sneaker like, look into it! They allow you to feel everything but still offer protection
