Just bought my Honda Rebel yesterday! Thank you so much for posting your journey. As a 5'0" women riding her first motorcycle its nice to have a role model.
SO FREAKING PROUD OF YOU BABE!!! Not just for your improvements in riding and the courage to keep going…but also for this video, cause the quality of it is giving my channel a run for its money!! 😂🤘🏻🧡🧡🧡
Ahaha thank you love!!😂🤘🏻🤍
Mike you’re not kidding. She’ll have more subs in no time ;)
Thats awesome!!!!!!
Definitely underrated videos! RUclips algorithm misses out on gems sometimes!
@misterjizmester7103everyone's a rookie at some point, big shot😒
Girl I literally cried happy tears for you! Hoping one day I'll learn the ride a motorcycle. It's been my dream and at 53 I'm not getting any younger. Thanks for the videos. You're an inspiration.
Go take classes.
Go buy u a good starter bike.
You can do it!
You can do it to
You can absolutely do it
Picture this! 😂 The year was 1985, yep, I’m old! 😂 Anywho, stopped at a MC dealer in Manassas, Va saw a Honda Nighthawk 450 and it callled my name so I bought it. Now mind you, I had no endorsement to ride this nor ANY experience riding oneat all. But the next day I went back and got it. I lived in Falls Church at the time so I put my big girl panties on and rode it home ! Did I mention that it was 45 degrees outside!! No gloves and just pants and sweat pants on for 39 minutes! Dang, I was stupid back then! Lol!
Oh man I see so much of my wife in this. I taught her to ride a bunch of years ago and her progress and thought process and worries and excitement were all so similar to yours. Burch is a great teacher, imo. Patient and calm and encouraging. Together you've got this, easy peasy!
Does she still ride?! And he’s the best honestly, I couldn’t ask for better. Thank you!!🤘🏻
@@KomotoVlogs She (we) still ride! She loves it almost more than I do at this point, lol.
Telling yourself what you’re doing or planning to do while riding is a good way to ride and focus. Keep it up!!!!
I’ve been doing it since day one! I stay talking to myself in my helmet😂😂🤘🏻
I’ve been riding for over 40 years and I still do the same thing, on every ride! Even with music playing quietly on the Cardo, I’m still talking to myself (focusing on what I’m doing) It’s a great strategy and a great way to stay focused like you said
Literally just watched part 1 earlier today and this pops up in my recommended. So proud of you. When you get comfortable with the clutch and those gears riding becomes second nature and so so so much fun. Real proud of you.
Thank you so much!!😊🤘🏻
I only got my learner's in February this year and you are describing exactly how l have been thinking and feeling. Did my first huge ride today 300kms and feeling so proud right now.
Well done! You should be so proud!!
Love your videos Nina! The way you put yourself out there is so admirable! We're all rooting for you!
Thank you so much!!🤘🏻
Caught the first part right before watching this one, Glad for you. And this being May, I figure you did well in the safety course the second time around. Big congrats and I wish you great rides, all safe!
Good job, just remember to use your back brake first then apply your front brake. Do not use your front brake first at slow speeds or suddendly or your front end will turn and you will [hopefully not of course} drop your bike. Way to go young lady!!
So good to see your progress. Your confidence will build the more you ride. Burch is a great support for you, I can see how he helps you to have trust in your riding abilities. Go get ‘em girl!!!
Thank you!! Burch is literally the best support I could ask for!🤘🏻😊
I'm a 32 year old dude living in Japan who had to go through Japanese motorcycle school. I'm a kindred spirit with this one, only I'm learning on a 2002 Suzuki Tu250 Volty carburator!
I totally understand that apprehension you felt, I got a honda shadow phantom for my first bike and it was (and at times still is) intimidating at first but man once i get going for a bit that all melted away, glad to see you enjoying learning your time!
You freaking go girl. Number one I’ve never seen your videos before and I subscribed after the first 20 seconds because you said and did all the right things. The fact that you feel intimidated, you should! The fact that you pulled out from the initial class, OK it is what it is but you got back out there. Oh yeah and most importantly, you’re probably on the best motorcycle that you could be on as a new rider. So many times people buy the wrong bike.
Dude you're doing awesome!! Also knowing when to stop and knowing when you're too tired to make progress in practice is a huge step and will help you improve so much faster
Thank you so much! And yes that is a lesson that look a while to learn because when I’m out there I have a great time but pushing myself isn’t always best because I end up scaring myself🤘🏻😂
Watching you go!! Good job! I’m saving up for a bike myself and seeing your real videos makes me feel like anything is possible! Keep up the great work! You got this! ☺️
You can do this! It’s amazing what we’re capable of and don’t even know it yet!😊🤘🏻
Love how you validated and affirmed you were tired. Not being hard on yourself 🥰
Good to see the progress you made. This will help a lot of new riders. Great stuff Nina and Burch!
Thank you!! That is the goal!!🤘🏻
Yes! We’re rooting for you! 🥳 Keep it up. The more you ride, that better you’ll get!
Thank you!!😊🤘🏻
So proud of you! The look on your face though when he told you to ride home was priceless! 😃 Way to go!
Right?!😂 pure terror lol! Thank you!
It's sooo cool to see your confidence grow!! Keep it up Nina!
Thank you so much!!🤘🏻
Thank you for keeping us updated! I am going to be getting on a bike as the rider for the first time pretty soon here and it has been helping me watch new riders of all ages learn and do their first ride home. Listening to your commentary and getting a first hand look at what new riders are thinking and feeling has made me more confident that I can do it too. When you got home and told yourself this is what bike life is and it's for you is so awesome and I am can't wait to get their myself :D Congratulations on your first ride home!
Thank you so much!! I highly recommend the course I just took, check it out on the channel!
@@KomotoVlogs where I live you are required to do the written test first so you can take the safety course. And if you pass the course you get you beginner stage license. Then after 9 months you can qualify todo your road test. Our safety course was so much fun. One day in class and two full days in a closed lot on some 200 cc bikes
So awesome seeing your progress from part one till now! Counting down the days for riding weather where I’m at
Thank you!! And we technically still are too. Cold mornings but we weirdly have a lot of wind too! Just a few more weeks fingers crossed!!🤘🏻🤞🏻
The self awareness, applying other applicable training, talking through what you’re doing, sooooooo awesome!!!! Way to go!!!!
Thank you so much!🤘🏻
I love when you upload. It's a unique perspective that I have a massive amount of respect for.😊
Thank you so much!! Hopefully I’ll be posting a lil more as the weather gets nicer!🤘🏻
You did a great job. I found Burch’s channel about a year ago when I decided I wanted a Rebel 300, and watching you learn and his teaching was immensely helpful in giving me the courage to pull the trigger on it. I rode the hell out of it last year for a few thousand miles until there was snow on the ground, and this year I upgraded from the 300 to the 1100. I love riding, I love my bike, and I’m so glad I decided to do it, and you and Burch are a huge reason why I did it in the first place. All that to say, I thank you and I thank Burch and you guys are the best! Keep on riding because you’re an inspiration to people.
Thank you so much!! And congratulations on your 1100! Talk about an upgrade! Ride safe out there🤘🏻
I’m in love with you two! Hope nothing for the best for you two. Long story short, I’m getting back into riding after gaining a ton of weight stopped me, but these really helped calm my nerves!
That was awesome! I love seeing how confident you're getting, can't wait to see more of this x well done 🎉
Thank you!!😊🤘🏻
I have a mini moto 150cc I learned on last fall and recently purchased a rebel 300. I watch your videos and it’s funny because as a newbie following my bf, I totally get what your feeling at different points. Have been waiting to see this video!! Proud of you!
Congrats on your rebel! And it’s totally wild right?! Thinking about everything all at once and also nothing!😂 thank you and ride safe!!🤘🏻
Oh man did you take me down memory lane. Literally got memories of my first ride after getting my license. "There's a guy behind me, don't stall it in traffic, how I merge, is the engine running rough? Why did the transmission make that clunk? Is that normal? I'm not sure I can lean that far. What gear am I in?!" My first ride, I got to my apartment white knuckled and with an elevated heart rate but I knew I was in love. You'll look back at this video in 2-3 years and realize "Wow, it's amazing how much I take for granted these days!" You've got this! It just takes time to master everything going on all at once but once you get there, it'll be second nature!
Plus you've got a great teacher!
This is actually so real. Genuinely exactly every single thought I had. All I want to do is share it, so that everyone else also understands this is exactly how it goes and not everyone riding on the internet portrays the real shit, I appreciate this comment more than you know!! Ride safe!!🤘🏻
Your attitude has always been infectious from the moment you started interacting in Birchs videos and I was so happy when he announced you'd be starting your own channel and riding with him. It's incredible to me how similar our experiences are because I am also on a rebel 300 (2018) and I just recently BARELY passed my permit exam I took for my birthday. The written was easy but the riding one, I struggled really bad with letting my clutch out smoothly and also never made a single proper U-turn during the class. Now that I have my permit, I'm just waiting on some sunny weather here in Washington to get out and practice, because as scary as it is not having the safe environment back from the class I took, I know that as long as I'm careful and know my limits, I can safely practice anywhere and get better each time. I feel like I'm riding with you guys whenever I see your videos and I hope to meet you both some day. Hugely inspirational, and super awesome job. Congrats on your improvements!
-Brandon
Dude I had no idea how similar our situation was! Keep crushing it!!🤘🏻
I bet that FIRST small ride feels awesome
I know this video is a couple of months old but I'm right at this point now learning to ride with gears. This is great to watch, love your videos guys. I'm a much much older lady lol, my shoulders hurt for exactly the same reason hahaha and I rode my bike back home for the first time tonight. The excitement in your voice is priceless and I get it 😊
That was great to watch. Anxiety and worrying can really get you down. I do the same thing about lots of stuff. But when you do get something done or figured out it's the best feeling!
It’s super rewarding!!🤘🏻
Great job! I remember when I started riding 10 years ago those feelings of uncertainty. You both are right, it's all in your head. Just look where you want to turn and trust your tires to get you there.
Thank you! And Ikr? Just gotta slow, look, press and roll🫡😤
I’ve watched several of your videos. You have progressed wonderfully. Have fun. Ride safe.
Yay Nina!!!! I’m so excited for you! I’m working on the 883 as well. We got this 🎉❤
Thank you!! And heck yes we do!!🤘🏻 keep crushing it!!🤍
@@KomotoVlogs 100%
LOVE this video. Thanks for showing the reality of learning to ride. Coming from someone who knows ;) GOOD JOB NINA! You're rocking it :)
Awesome riding Nina! You're getting it down now. I love your excitement. That's what it's all about!
Heck yeah! Thank you!!😊🤘🏻
Duuuude i just had this same feeling today! I picked up my first ever bike from the showroom. I had the same moment of laughing to myself when I was on the road and navigating myself back home. Never driven a car or anything before so it was a big moment. Congrats on yours!
Wow that’s wild!! Congratulations to you!! It’s such a crazy feeling😅😂🤘🏻 Ride safe out there!
Been riding so many years I forgot the joy of the first ride. Thanks for reminding me✌️
Thank you!! Ride safe!🤘🏻
Awesome job Nina! Things get a lot easier the more you do it! I had to take breaks a week or two at a time because of how overwhelmed I felt when learning. I just started last year (though thanks to your boyfriend I went straight to the big 1100). Stop signs and traffic made me sick to my stomach. The first time on the highway, I almost had to pull over from how terrified I was. I was only on it for about 4 minutes and it was only 55. My biggest tip for going anything over 30, don't look down! It feels like you're going 100mph! In a car, you don't see the road beneath you so it makes it easier. On a bike you don't have a dash and hood covering it for you. Just trust yourself, push when you need to, and rest when you need to. You've got this!
This is super relatable!! Amazing to hear Burch was part of your learning to ride journey also!! Keep crushing it and ride safe🤘🏻
I had to retake riding course after not riding for 10yrs. Then when I got my Ninja 650 it was like my first time riding again. Eggsactly like you I had to remember to relax. Good job riding home
Just gotta breathe through it yknow?🤘🏻
Omh yay!!!!! You did I was cheering for you lol. Watching gives me lots of hope to get back to learning to riding. I had an injury with knee and foot which stopped me. But I’m excited to get back into riding again . And all the quotes helped too lol. But great job I was cheering you on. 🎉
You two should make a training video from all your vids for “Learning to ride a motorcycle”
I honestly enjoy them. I think most people will like how you blog on learning. Your great and funny.
I love it!
I been following your channel here and I must say you are doing great! The both of you are very cool! Stay positive and stay safe! Cheer! 🙌
Thank you so much!!🤘🏻
omg. Thank you for this. I take my course class in june and super excited. I cant wait til drive home in mine. Im also looking into getting the rebel as well. :)
You guys are so cute!! I love watching your confidence grow 😁 as a fellow woman rider, this makes me so happy to see 😭💙
Thank you!! And omg glad to see it, hopefully we can build a community of other lady riders around here!!🤍🤘🏻
Way to go! Solid support from Burch as well.
Thank you! And right? He’s the best
I just love her commentary while riding.
Currently saving from my first bike. These videos are helping me stay motivated so thank you
Im in the process of learning to rode myself i have a honda rebel 500 and watching your journey helps so much an gives me more courage to push myself to get out an practice more an more.
You can do this!! Keep practicing and take it day by day!

I love you two so much!! I was so hyped for this video and I promise it did not disappoint. Not going to lie, had me in the first half with the dead battery bit but was pretty stoked to see you crush that turn!! So excited for more content this summer!! KomotoVlogs x LifeofBurch west coast ride coming soon??
Thank you!! I’m super excited to film some more! And oh gosh we’ve got a lot of stuff planned already this year so I don’t know if we’ll get out that way but the LOB meet up is the last weekend in April if you can make it this way!🤘🏻
You are a PRO. You did it like a champ!
Burch was great with you with his encouragement and he pushed you just enough.
You can be proud.
I watch your progress and your videos with interest, because at the beginning of May I will have my Honda Rebel 1100. My first motorcycle.
And I can't wait. Your videos keep me waiting.
THANKS.

And congrats on your 1100!!!
Y’all have some great content and looks like your killing it I’m getting my first motorcycle this week it’s also Honda rebel 300 can’t wait. Keep up the great work

@@KomotoVlogs I'm good! Proud of you, you are doing well! You're gonna ace the course next time as long as you don't have to ride a big ol Harley. I have a hard time riding them myself. Couldn't even get my friends started XD
This was soooo cool to watch
welcome back Nina!😁😁
Thank you!! Can’t wait to start uploading more🤘🏻
I taught my wife about 5 years ago on a 250 Suzuki Marauder. She has it down now. She has had a 250 Marauder aS40 Suzuki a Benelli TNT 135 and a Yamaha MT03. I myself learnt how to ride on mini bikes as an elementary age kid. I recommend light weight smaller cc dirt bikes to learn on. Off road. Something like a tw200 or Dr 200. Or even a lawn mower type engine mini bike.
That’s amazing! I do have a Honda Navi that I adore for that exact reason! Makes it so easy to understand the principles of riding without the worry of weight or a clutch! That’s what’s been giving me the confidence to get out on my 300. Plus the great thing about the 300 it’s that there is almost no weight to it! The perfect beginner bike IMO.
aww you guys are so cute and in love it actually makes me tear up with happiness! my girlfriend and i will continue to watch and support both of you and your riding adventures
This is so sweet! Thank you so much for your support!!🤘🏻
It's so nice to hear pure joy from people learning and conquering their objectives.
Hopefully with spring coming, we could see more videos.
Greetings from Europe.
Hi! Thank you!! Where in Europe? I was born and raised in Scotland. And yes with warmer weather I’ll able to post a lot more!🤘🏻
@@KomotoVlogs from central Europe, i live in Slovakia. Ordered a new Rebel 500 in February, hopefully the date given by the dealership will not change. Will be cruising in the middle of May. 🛵
Fantastic job Nina. You got this 🤘🤘🤘🏍🏍
Thank you!!🤘🏻
I just watched part 1 and didn't knew you guys before. It was such a fun and real feeling video, I was soooo disappointed that I couldn't find part 2 on the channel while it played. Then came the end, that made me look into the description and I'm so glad I did.
It's such a great experience seeing your progress and confidence going up.
Getting a few kms done on 125 beforehand in general is a great way to learn. I drove a 125 for a year and wanted to step it up. Took an 850 ADV bike for a test ride and it was soooo terrifying (at first)
It’s been long awaited by everyone I think!! Glad to finally share some more progress. I have a Navi that I love! Helps build my confidence!👌🏻🤘🏻
@@KomotoVlogs Yeah, I saw other commentors looking but not finding. I'm eager to see more!
The Navi is a really good start for the 2 wheeled experience and I'm sure you'll find roles for it to fill, even after you're zipping around on liter bikes
Hell yeah! Keep up the good work Nina!
Thank you!!😊🤘🏻
Love your channel, all I think about is safety. Cars sometimes do not acknowledge us, so we have to be extremely cautious. It doesn't matter how much tech you think you have, one careless driver can easily ruin everything. Wishing the best for you guys👍
Thank you! And absolutely I think about it even when I’m the one driving the car. 🤘🏻
Sweet!!!!!
Best of luck at your BRC class in April! I take mine in May.
Thank you and good luck to you!!🤘🏻
Love seeing the progress!!!!
Congrats on riding home has to be a confidence booster for sure!!!
Dom! Sup dude?!🤘🏻
@@KomotoVlogs what it doo!!!!?
Well done your riding looks ok on the main. Practice is key, it took me 4 attempts to pass in the uk we have mod 1 which is around cones and swerve and an emergency stop, I did that first time then mod 2 is like a proper on road test. I’m someone that over thinks things and gets quite stressed in a test situation but I passed my car test first time. I’m 61 now and finally passed just a few years ago I think it was because I did something that I thought would fail me so thought ah screw it just enjoy the rest of the ride that relaxed me and I passed so never give up all you have to do is show confidence on the road and remember to cancel your turn signals(that got me twice lol) I ve watched birches videos and he comes across as a really nice guy. Just enjoy the freedom that riding a bike gives you but be safe buy the best protection that you can afford and practice slow manovers like u turns and look at cage vehicles closely like he said are the front wheels turning always give your self an out. When coming to a stop behind a car move over to the side so if the car behind dosent stop hopefully
They will hit the car and not you. I’m sure you know all this. Good luck and I’m sure you will soon be a fully licensed biker.x.
Good job, girl! 💪🏼😎
I remember my first ride in city, it was Fffff scary 😂 and I screamed in my helmet when I hit 5 gear first time (so excited, back then) 😅
Don’t give up, you can do it!!!
Thank you!! 🤘🏻 And it is so crazy! On my Instagram there is a photo of me the exact moment I came to a stop and realized I had hit 5th gear!! Such an insane feeling!!
So proud! He’s such a sweet and calm teacher

Just ran into your video today. You’re doing AWESOME! I understand The nerves of first time learning. I took a break for months after i freaked myself out learning before i decided to finally go and learn and finallt ride too. Just do it for 20-30mins a day if you can just to really get used to it and build your confidence. You can do it!!!!!

Growing up I drove my friends dirt bikes during the summers so I have some experience riding. I'm 34 now, but when we were 26 he unfortunately lost his life in a motorcycle crash. He was driving an extremely powerful crotch rocket and going around a bend in the road at over 100mph, and that was it. It scared me away from any kind of motorized bike, but I know if he wasn't driving that way he'd still be with us here today.
My urge to get a bike never really went away. Then the other week I learned of the Honda Ct125, which is technically a scooter, but I fell in love with that little bike. They're hard to find but I talked to a dealer about an hour away and they said they would hold onto the one they have until I make up my mind. It's something I really want to do, but that fear has never really gone away.
This is really inspiring me to go and get that CT125, as stated I really love the way that little bike looks and it would make a lot more sense for me to drive that around town Spring-Autumn. I know it's not the most powerful bike, and safety while driving would be my number 1 priority, but my anxiety always gets the best of me.
I would still need to get my permit to drive it on the roads with a friend (until I get my license) but with the CT I could take it to a field somewhere and just get comfortable riding it that way too. I figure worst comes to worst they hold their value and I could just resell it, probably just be out the tax money...
