  • Kenmore Dryer Heating element stopped working. $20 repair in 30 minutes. This is an HE4 model but many electric dryers have a similar component. It was definitely worth fixing, but we eventually bought a new dryer which has safety features, such as detecting when the exhaust air flow is partially clogged or restricted (a common cause of house fires).

    Worked just as you described. Only issue was that the heating element did not want to come out or the new go in. That took more time than the rest combined. Excellent video

    Excellent video. My wife actually wanted to get rid of the dryer when all it needed was a $20 part.

    Thanks! Needed this to replace our heating element. Last time we replaced it was May, 2019. Looks like we may need to figure what's causing it to burn out so soon.

    • @works4me

      How often is it burning out? Ours lasted about 16 years. It should only burn out about once in it's life span.

    Great video, I haven’t been able to get the actual element out, it’s really stuck in there. Any tips on getting it loosed other than just using a vise-grip?

    • @works4me
      @works4me  Год назад

      If you have removed all the screws then a good quick tug will do. Only friction should be holding it in.

      @@works4me thanks for the quick reply! The little piece that holds the connections/leads on the front left, it was also seeming to be very stuck. I kind of was able to move it around a bit. In the video you just say to “pull it forward” or “pull it out” but then the video cuts and I’m not sure if I missed a step there

      Sometimes you need pliers to get the electrical connectors loose. There should only be one tension tab on the opposite side (right) of the connectors. Near the end of the video you can see the element out and see the tension tab.
