Avenging #9 is a book I will always hold fondly. I sold it when my daughter was born to make ends meet, as my wife was injured in labor and I needed to take a month off. I sold it for 375 5 years ago and was able to purchase it again recently for a much lower price.
@RegieCollects for Christmas this year they got me the first Rouge. My daughter says I need to get the 1st Mz. Marvel (her fave) now too. I'll have to wait a bit on that one! Monica Rambeau is up next
Regie, thanks so Much! I'm 64 and have had World's Finest #153 since I was a kid and never realized it held the "Batman slap!" I probably last read it when I was eight or nine, so please forgive me for not knowing. Wow, I learned something new today. Thanks again. Now I have to dig it out, ease it out of the sleeve, and find that famous frame.
Not a huge grader but I do have a dozen or so books and have found prescreen is the way to go if you really want to hit a certain grade. Gotta throw a couple of books at you Regie. Not sue if you’ve done these ones before but I’m on the fence about my ASM #316 and ASM #361 (Newsstand). Not huge books and both highish grades, but I’d wager probably 9.4’s at best. Thanks for all the great content!
Hey Regie, I was going through my long boxes with my daughter and she pointed out n older one we haven't gone through...anyway short version came across Star Wars:Heir to the Empire 1 News Stand with 2 non colour breaking spin ticks and S.W. Boba Fett: Bounty on Bar-Kooda News Stand as well and same or better condition as Heir #1
Watching this video I had to check eBay for World's Finest #153. There's someone selling "the slap page", not the whole book, just that page for $315 graded. LOL. I admit I'd love to have a copy of that book. But I'd want to be able to display that page. This is a true special case. Can you image what the original artwork for the slap page would go for right now.
Here’s an interesting perspective on the first cameo of Gunslinger Spawn in Spawn 119 Gunslinger is in a single panel that’s full of all the hell spawns, there’s no detail it’s like a shadow picture. Gunslinger spawn is about the size of (or smaller) a dime. I really view Spawn 162 as Gunslinger’s cameo (because you can see him). I own both in graded copies of 9.8, and think 162 has much more upside.
When was the last time you looked at that issue? I ask because Gunslinger is in full color and detail in 119. Also, are you sure GS was in 162? I do not recall seeing him in that issue. Maybe I missed it.
Great vid, just what I was looking for. I have a Harbinger #0 coupon Mail-in Pink Variant with two sigs on it. Was thinking of sending in to CBCS for sig verifications and grading. I would say raw grade is 9.4 - 9.6. Do you think that would be a good investment? Thank you for all your insight.
I do not. The data around the signed version is limited because there have been very few copies graded or sold across CGC and CBCS. The most recent copy of a 9.6 CBCS sold for $89 in 2022. A CGC 9.6 sold for $140 in 2021. A CBCS 9.4 sold for $57 in 2018 and a CGC 9.4 went for $135 in 2021. I personally would put the comic in a Mylar and enjoy it.

🙏🏾 Aww man. That’s fantastic.

Pretty cool piece of history for sure.
Great selection of books, I need to check out G.S. 119.
Love that Spawn book. Low print counts help that series.

That page is a friggin classic. The original became way cooler and more expensive due to the internet meme game. 😂🤣
