I believe your father is younger than me. I don't like hearing him say he doesn't like getting old, because it makes me feel older. I lost my dad two months ago. Enjoy the time you have to spend with yours. There were no video cameras back in the 1970s when my dad was teaching me to spin wrenches. These are priceless memories you're making.
When I see one of your videos, I pretty much stop whatever I’m doing to watch it. The look of your pumps in the night is iconic of a gone bye era. I LOVE your channel so much. What gift you give us! Thank you!
I like the pumps that you have and are restoring. It is hard to work on cars during the summer, here in south Alabama it is hot, and the humidity is high making it difficult to work during the summer months until it starts cooling down in October. Enjoy working with your dad while you still can, my dad has been gone now for three years, I used to enjoy working with him on our projects as you and your dad are doing.
It's great seeing young guys interested in old cars and the pumps and the history of it all. Us old guys will leave this earth some day and we can't let true history die with us! Great seeing you and your Dad working together. I lost my Dad when I was 8 years old! Now I'm teaching my Grandkids how to maintain and repair cars and impart my knowledge to them when ever I can.
Hey Travis Hey Rick Great Video lots of good content and the variety was certainly worth the watch. Back in the early 80’s I helped restore a 59 El Camino. It was practically all there it just needed paint and the tailgate needed some metal work like a lot of them did. Thank You 🙏
Probably the most healthy, wholesome father/son relationship since Andy and Opie. I love seeing you two work together. Reminds me of visiting my Granddad to do oil changes at his farm.
I agree with your comments regarding aftermarket parts. They are garbage.. I was the original owner of a 2000 Monte Carlo. The oil pressure sending unit worked perfectly for 17 years, which was a General Motors original part from the factory. When it failed, all that is available is aftermarket parts, which, are conveniently labeled “genuine GM”. They are not. I believe these replacements are made in Mexico of inferior construction. Buyer beware. I went through five consecutive ( aftermarket) oil pressure sending units, each of which failed, with the result of almost frying my engine each time from massive oil leakage, and having to be towed in twice. I have since sold the car, warning the purchaser about this problem! Thanks, GM for outsourcing your parts and labeling them as “ genuine”.
Great video!!! Suggestion for you. If you plan to show content like the pumps (which was great), I would carve it off into its own video, even if shorter. That way you can name it accordingly and get new views to your channel for those seeking out that type of content and maybe they will stay for the car content too!
Even easier is mechanical parts, body parts and trim, for 65 thru 73 Mustangs. I bought my 68, 47 years ago and can easily get everything for it, and probably will be able to for a couple more decades.
The return spring for the clutch pedal is an over-center spring, mandatory on all 3-finger borg/beck style clutches. (diaphragm style with hydro. actuated fork clutches use a smaller/lighter spring iirc)
Interesting review of the pumps. My father in law has a shell station in Ohio started his station in 1919. Hi pumps were old style and everyone wanted him to change to new ones. He wouldn't change.
Nice work selling the Dodge! And of course I love to see the pumps, and on that note I love seeing the household appliances rebuilds too, like that washing machine. Definitely agree with keeping the guts in the pumps, that’s much cooler to me than the convenience of an empty one. Looking forward to part 2 of this El Camino!
Anything can be saved, looks to be a fun project for guys your capabilities and nice shop. Looks better already - it will make a fine Rat Camino, I like the '60 body style best on the El Camino. Just put a drivetrain, suspension and brakes, a windshield and the minimum for an interior and drive it as is body wise (well, new floors).
Awesome video, as always. That green & white TEXACO pump brought back a lot of unforgettable memories. My uncle had a TEXACO gas station in Cuba in the 1950s. Cheers from Florida.
Fantastic video !! You and your dad work so well together and you can tell in his eyes he is extremely proud of you and your skills. That is pure gold. On the other hand, that El Camino looks like it was cobbed together from a few other cars and painted with a roller. No matter for you and dad--you two will make it something anyone would be proud to own. Love the gas pump restorations. People pay serious dough for those. Go get 'em. Thanks for sharing the journey.
Thanks for showing the sale and pick up of your truck. So many You Tubers never show what happens to the vehicle after the initial content. It's nice to know what the rest of the story.
More than once I have had 'professional' tyre fitters insist it isn't necessary to line up the dot with the valve. Even when asking them to do it, they refused. So much easier to balance when it's done correctly.
I can vaguely remember those type of pumps. I was born in 56. By the time I started to drive they were more modern looking, mechanical though of coarse. Thanks guys.
Good to see you two working together as you restore these classic vehicles to being road worth as you build your relationship. Joe from Smyrna Delaware
On all my tire machines they had bottom air jets that would activate when you depressed the air pedal all the way (half way for just regular air thru the hose) . You would lift the tire to seat the top bead, mash the jets (simulates an ether blast) and then let the air hose finish inflating the tire. Like the content!
As a 26 year old who owns a 59 El Camino and four fifth generation El Caminos, I’m glad to see more and more of the first generation rigs out there being worked on and fixed up. They may always have rotted floors, but they look solid from the outside! 😂 My 59 has new floor pans but other than that and the eyebrows of the hood, no rust!
Enjoy your videos and you and your dad working together. The end clip of the gas pumps was very cool. Don’t take for granted the time you have with your dad!
I like you guys because you're doing things like I can do at home. You're not getting a new shop with lifts and working bays and fancy expensive stuff. Thanks for your hard work.
How lucky you are to have a car project with your dad. My dad died when I was 10 years old and he also liked old cars. I don't have children, but I hope one day I can have a project.
Love the gas pumps restoration’s. Thanks Travis. You and Richard have had a time with this El Camino. Can’t wait for the start and drive. Thanks for Sharing! 💯👊👍
Mr. B. Here ! 🍩☕️👀😎👍. I can agree with a running vehicle Mr. Rick parts vehicle for your El Camino is ok in my book ! I would guys if you make the black one running may not be a bad idea; many ideas come to mind but that’s for next video! Love when you guys work together! 🍩☕️👀😎👍
Was just thinking I haven't seen anything from you guys in a while and a new video pops up. My first car was a 60 Chevy Impala 2dr Hdtp but always wanted an El Camino. Hope that engine runs. ;-)
If you ever want to use some good silicone sealant that when it sets you have to pry it apart try ac delco grey our local abc auto parts sells it O’Reilly can get it for you or Amazon or eBay this is some great sealant
Respect from Florida for working in that desert heat! It gets pretty hot here but MAN does it get hot in AZ! Great channel loving the videos and the cool old cars
A cool thing to do on the gas.pumps is place an electruc drill inside to rotate the computer, put a push button in the pump handle so when you depress the nozzle handle the numbers spin in the computer.Hose clamp om the drill trigger to adjust the speed.Did this on a pump I used to have.Worked great.
An old trick that I learned many years ago about when the brake drums are rusted and will not release from the hub was to squirt some brake fluid on the joint and let it set for a short while, you will find that the brake fluid eats at the rust, and you will be able to remove the rear hubs much easier.
I love to see something extra in videos on your channel while you working on a car. Like the 50’s furniture or those washing machines or those pumps or other projects . It brings something extra and indeed on a car project there can always be a part 2. If the video becomes to long. Good job sir!
Your yard is very special, looks very good, well done, the effort is worth it. Thanks for the video, its always good to see what you will be fixing next.
Just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed the part of the video toward the end where you started talking about your gas pumps. I've got a restored Wayne 60 that I just inherited a few months ago. I have not had time to investigate what I need to get the light globe working on top, as well as the internal light around the center. You opened up your pumps and now I realize what I have to do to get this all lit up. Thanks a bunch - love all your videos. Good stuff!
You have a beautiful collection of fuel related memorabilia Travis. I hope you live somewhere that folks are honest. I'd hate to have something like you have and have to worry about it all the time.
You can thank Dalton from Pole Barn Garage for introducing you on his channel and getting me interested enough to watch your videos. I'm enjoying watching what you do
Love, when your videos come out, you’re one of my favorite channels of all time. Maybe it will probably be too much work, though you could have a smaller second channel that had other cool things like the pumps and some of your vintage things.❤
Walked nearly 10 miles one night when my spider gears broke. On a Vega. With a 350LT and Turbo 400. It was a long walk. Wrecking Yard gave me a 30 day warrantee on my new rearend. Broke that one too. Vega the lightest fastest and cheapest car I have owned. It would beat anybody. Roll easy off the light
I believe your father is younger than me. I don't like hearing him say he doesn't like getting old, because it makes me feel older. I lost my dad two months ago. age is a preditor, whom stalks us all our lives
Travis is in his late 20's and his Dad cannot be older than late 50's, which is my age and I'm not willing to be "old" yet!
I love the videos.
I just turned 64 and I know the feeling. Mentally I feel 30 years younger but my body reminds me every day that I'm getting older.
@@TheMentalblockrockYup, I’m 65, and I thank God everyday that I can still turn wrenches on my old Chevys.
I have tail light lenses from my 60 Impala if you need any. My first car 40 years ago.
Hey, your dad is giving out some Strong Fred Sanford Vibes crawlin along with the motor & stand in his pickup! 😂😂 😎👍
A ratchet strap around the center circumference of the tire really helps to spread the beads apart when setting the beads.
I was also going to make this suggestion
When I see one of your videos, I pretty much stop whatever I’m doing to watch it. The look of your pumps in the night is iconic of a gone bye era. I LOVE your channel so much. What gift you give us! Thank you!
That means a lot thank you. We work hard on these videos it’s great to see that you are excited to watch them.
Good to see you guys saving another cool car
You always put out great father and son videos🏁🏁
I like the pumps that you have and are restoring. Tell them all you can

Absolutely love the collection of memorabilia Travis. Please keep showing this when you can!
Ok will do.
Probably the most healthy, wholesome father/son relationship since Andy and Opie. I love seeing you two work together. Reminds me of visiting my Granddad to do oil changes at his farm.
Nice amsteur mechanic..shade tree builds..
Good golly your pumps are NICE..!
Father & son frolics...
CARRY ON
Don't take the time with your Dad for granted..your lucky to have such a good friend.
Yes I enjoy every day
I agree with your comments regarding aftermarket parts. They are garbage..

It's not the "brake fluid that turns into dust". It's the metal of the wheel cylinders that's broken down into dust same as the master cylinder.
Your pops is the best! Another awesome video. Can’t wait until the next one!
Always great to watch Travis and Rick working on projects together!
Travis, it’s nice to see you and your father working together on these projects. It was great to see you had this one started.
Your dad is so funny lol sitting there in his own little world. While you struggle with the motor on the cherry picker lol
Always good to see another early 60s Chevy saved. From an era when car manufacturers really let their designers off the leash!
Great video!!! Suggestion for you. If you plan to show content like the pumps (which was great), I would carve it off into its own video, even if shorter. That way you can name it accordingly and get new views to your channel for those seeking out that type of content and maybe they will stay for the car content too!
Your dad is so cool 😁👍🏻💪🏻 Like to see you working on your projects 😍👍🏻 Greetings from 🇸🇪
I think it's really awesome how y'all use old tools and old trucks to work with!
Very cool old gas pumps. Those are things you rarely if ever see anywhere !
The interchangeability of Chevy parts makes a project like yours Travis go much smoother and quicker for folks like you and your dad.
Yes saves a lot of money
Even easier is mechanical parts, body parts and trim, for 65 thru 73 Mustangs. I bought my 68, 47 years ago and can easily get everything for it, and probably will be able to for a couple more decades.

Interesting review of the pumps. My father in law has a shell station in Ohio started his station in 1919.
Hi pumps were old style and everyone wanted him to change to new ones. He wouldn't change.
I am 80 and agree it is terrible getting old. I hate mowing grass. But when you and Your Dad work on an old car or truck I watch.
The hose clamp conversation was the best!🤣🤣
Nice work selling the Dodge! And of course I love to see the pumps, and on that note I love seeing the household appliances rebuilds too, like that washing machine. Those Pumps are Beautiful ! 👊😎👍
Thank you
Fine job gentleman, greetings from Spain
Thanks for watching from Spain.
Thank you for your APPRECIATION to your subscribers Travis
Always !!
Love your pumps and signs! 😊
Thank you it’s like a hobby within a hobby.

Thanks for showing the sale and pick up of your truck. So many You Tubers never show what happens to the vehicle after the initial content. It's nice to know what the rest of the story.
Great progress on the 60 El Camino
Your restored pumps are beautiful.
I'm looking forward to more on the El Camino
More than once I have had 'professional' tyre fitters insist it isn't necessary to line up the dot with the valve. Even when asking them to do it, they refused. So much easier to balance when it's done correctly.
Yeah those El caminos used to be everywhere.. I don't know why everybody seems to like to abuse them... When they were new I mean
I bought my first Chevy when I was 15. I’m 65 years old now. I always look forward to the vids. Please keep on keeping on.
It's very nice for Dads and Sons to be able to work together. I'm starting to find this out !!

Yes sir that feature is pretty much standard on tire machines to set that bead.
Awesome! Another El Camino! I'm back working on my 59 El Camino now! Great video Travis! ✌🏻
Thanks brother ! Keep trucking
Great to see Rick more on your videos. Makes me grin when you two exchange comments.
Also. I like the gas pump features too. 👍
Great to see the El Camino work starting!
I enjoy watching your channel. The interaction between you and your Dad is great. He reminds me of my late dad in so many ways.
Keep the vids coming.

Love the signs and pumps
Hi guys, I hope you are having a wonderful day.
I love watching you work together on a project. Get er done, lol .
God bless you all .🙏
Thanks for tuning in man 👍🏻👍🏻
How lucky you are to have a car project with your dad.
My dad died when I was 10 years old and he also liked old cars. I don't have children, but I hope one day I can have a project.
Great choice! 60 chevy is such a great looking car. Having an early El Camino is so cool.
Good job boyz!.... Pumps look great!
Love the gas pumps restoration’s. Thanks Travis. You and Richard have had a time with this El Camino. Can’t wait for the start and drive. Thanks for Sharing! 💯👊👍

Love it all! Special times working with your Dad like that! Used to do the same with mine before he passed. Cherish it! Really enjoy your channel! 👍🏼😊
Your pops is a superstar. How do dads get better. Let him know how great we think he is. 🙏🏼💯 cheers from Ohio

If you ever want to use some good silicone sealant that when it sets you have to pry it apart try ac delco grey our local abc auto parts sells it O’Reilly can get it for you or Amazon or eBay this is some great sealant
Thanks, Travis. You and your Dad work good together. Those old 60s are cool. I have a 68, my grandpa bought new.
Great revival and teamwork, thanks for the pump tour , great work 👏, thanks for sharing 👍💨💨
You two are busy guys. Thanks for your good videos I really like them.
Glad you enjoy we dabble in a few different things
You guys do good work.👍
Your dad is the funniest!
Respect from Florida for working in that desert heat! It gets pretty hot here but MAN does it get hot in AZ!
Great channel loving the videos and the cool old cars
Thanks for watching. I’ve been in Florida where it was 92 degrees and 90% humidity and it’s about the same amount of miserable.

Just swap the spider gears from one into the other. It might be a bit noisy but it'll drive.
love your pump collection, car guys and gas pumps go together. cant wait to hear the el camino crank up
Oh yeah baby, Travis is back on the track ❤❤❤❤.
I’m going on 70 and I hear you that is does suck getting old and I love restoring old cars and motorcycles but it’s getting tough now.
Great build project…Thanks for sharing men.
Enjoyed your content and sharing your pump collection with us.
I couldn't handle that desert heat but love the dry old stuff you come across.
I really enjoy your adventures and automotive knowledge
You can thank Dalton from Pole Barn Garage for introducing you on his channel and getting me interested enough to watch your videos. I'm enjoying watching what you do
I like those gas pumps ...you did a good job on the gas pumps ....looks nice all lite up at night ...
You gonna be able to get a windshield for that ? 👊😎👍
Boy that forklift sure is handy! Wish I had one!!
Great video Travis, a lot of content and nice to see great team work with your dad. Enjoyed watching 👍🏼👍🏼
