    Thank you very much for great knowledge you provide and improve the gas industry standard.
    As you know some gas center are money grabbing organisations not teaching enough.
    It's fake centers , advertising no prior experience needed what... excuse me. You talking gas engineering.
    I'm doing my 3rd reassessment. I paid for 4days reassessment. The teacher was their in day one just the went through just basic stuff. I was expecting at least couple days of teachings but guess what next day exams. I book refresher course thinking will go over the basic tops again.
    I'm glad I done my prep before going in. I just paid extra almost £500 for what.

    Great explanations Derek. I have an Inset Fan Assisted Fire. (Verine Fanfare FPF16NV).
    The pilot is working and stays on but when you press Start Button for main burner, the Fan stratus up and pulses hight speed then low and keeps going for however you press the start button, at the same time the main gas to the burner does not flow so no moan burner ignition.
    I’ve checked the Airflow Sensor and both the Normally Closed and Normally Open contacts are working fine. it has two Solenoids below the burner (Assume for High and Low flame), the voltages to the solenoids are low - approx 150mV AC when start is pressed (no DC). I’m not sure what’s Normal voltage for a solenoid to operate ?
    Any ideas or suggestions ?

    Cracking video. Amazing. Absolute legend. I proper buzz over your videos man. Question time 😬. When testing the ASD on the radiant gas fire, is it a two part test you must to do on the safety device? Is it fine to do one or the other or must you do both checks? What I understood is first you blow out the flame on the thermocouple and count the number of seconds. Secondly, you block the hole where the air comes in for combustion and the flame lifts off the thermocouple and you would count the number of seconds again??? Hope my question makes sense. Thanks Derek 👍🏻

    Great video again.
    The hole in the solenoid valve at the end I’m guessing this helps keep the valve open properly along with the electric current from the solenoid itself?
    Without this hole would the valve possibly close if there was a drop in pressure elsewhere on the system for example another gas appliance being turned on?
    Sort of like how a regulator works.

    • @tomkatgastraining
      @tomkatgastraining  4 года назад

      1Monaghan did I not explain what the hole is for ? yes it allows the pressure to equalise so the diaphragm will push up thanks for watching cheers

    8:36 ilfe gas pipe from gas tap to the burner where it bends towards the burner why it forms a reservior?and not a pipe bend

      Sorry don’t know what you are asking

    • @mansourpourzad8893
      @mansourpourzad8893 3 года назад

      8:33 where you filpped over the burner i noticed instead of a 90 degree bend on the pipe (connecting tap to the burner), factory used an end bulgy cover which it let gas through like a 90 degree bend but since bending the pipe is easier i thought there might be a reason for the factory to use this method over just simply bending the pipe.
      I know it is not important may be just factory preferance thanks

    Would you just isolate the isolate valve or just cap the open end when moving fire out to service? Or would you not need to disconnect fire someyimes?

    • @tomkatgastraining
      @tomkatgastraining  3 года назад

      You are not leaving the gas pipe unattended when servicing so no need to cap the gas pipe but if you were to leave it for any length of time you would have to cap the gas pipe

    I have a pilot light that goes week when the fire is turned up to max. This is causing the thermocouple to shut the gas off. Iv cleaned out the pilot tube and assembly but hasn't fixed it. Fire works fine on medium just not on max.
