    Hi Derek, another easily to understand video from your good self, just one little comment and that is at 14:25 you stated that the Co2 was 5.2 when in fact you meant O2. I’m not being picky but when you are producing educational videos which relate to the safety of the public, you must make sure that you are being 100% accurate with you descriptions as some students may remember this information and use it in the field. Apart from that keep up the good work, we need more people like you to educate the new coming engineers.

    Great video. Can you do this test with the boiler casing off? I’ve seen comments saying it affects the test and causes oxygen to be taken from the room or is this nonsense? Maybe they mean with the combustion chamber open rather than the case or are all boilers different?

    • @tomkatgastraining
      @tomkatgastraining  4 года назад +1

      1Monaghan the manufacturer’s tell you 2 readings a lot of the time one with and without the case . So yes it can make a difference but you couldn’t adjust a zero gas valve without the cover off . You definitely can’t do flue integrity with the cover off that would be effected. Hope that help and thanks for watching cheers

    An engineer told me if can't adjust just note as NCS

    • @tomkatgastraining
      @tomkatgastraining  Год назад

      If the co2 is high and it takes the ratio over tolerance that would be classed as AR not NCS. You can try and adjust the zero governor gas vale as long as it’s your last hope after a full strip down service.

    • @Luke-yy1fq
      @Luke-yy1fq Год назад

    • @tomkatgastraining
      @tomkatgastraining  Год назад

      @@Luke-yy1fq it’s the ratio that comes under unsafe situations not the co2. And yes most engineers won’t try and adjust if the ratio is ok because the heat exchanger will need cleaning if the co2 is incorrect.

    Small but important point. The analyser should never be placed on the boiler case when taking full combustion test. Flue gas temperature. Gross minus ambient = net. By placing the analyser on case distorts the ambient temperature due to analyser measuring the case temperature instead of room ambient temperature.
