This song is about his mother who had a debilitating handicap.He had to take care of her and she was a very devout christian and he couldn't understand how she could be so steadfast while he says god watches her suffer.

The scream at 3:23 is one of best in Maynard’s career in my opinion. Seamlessly goes from harsh to melody and holds it for 17 seconds is incredible. Dude’s got one of the most powerful voices in music.
Despite loving both Tool and A Perfect Circle, there is a song that i love by the Foo Fighters that imo, doesn't often get as much air-play as it should. It is nothing complex but the feeling and accustic mastery of it... it just gets me everytime!😁 If you're ever interested it is Foo Fighters - Stranger Things Have Happened
This song is called Judith in remembrance of Maynard's mom. Not sure if you know the back story - but Judith was paralyzed for roughly 10,000 days before she died (Tool album named after her suffering). This song is his effort to come to grips with a benevolent God allowing that. Through all her suffering, she never wavered or strayed and was a huge role model for her son.
Try Wings for Marie 1&2 (together). This is the song for her death.
