    I used to visit FN’s factory when they were still in Fredericksburg Virginia which was 30 miles away from my house , been impressed with the quality and reliability. Very well made and handsome but too pricey .

    My FN 509 was optic ready. I upgraded the trigger to Apex tactical and upgraded the barrel to a threaded barrel and I upgraded the striker which was Apex tactical also. Of all the guns I have this is my favorite.

    • @deltaactual8286

    Well, the interior design looks exactly the same as the older FNS9 I had. The gun functioned perfectly and lockup was was very nice and tight. The reason I don’t have it anymore was that I couldn’t effectively reach the trigger. It was designed for Graham, not me, so it had to go. It wasn’t until the military trials in the mid 10’s someone decided that smaller hands (womxn?) were important, too. The only new pistol from that era that continued to give me any trouble was the P10c, which shouldn’t have surprised me since I had trouble with the P07, too. I’m sure it will feed and shoot anything just fine. Since I was pulling the trigger a little from the side I could not make it very accurate but I’m sure that, in reality, it shot fine. Let’s see how this one does!

    • @CaveWyatt

      Btw, the “womxn” thing was a joke. Don’t get on me, please.

    after buying an arex zero1s & grand power p1, i have come to really appreciate fully ambidextrious guns. i have got used to dropping the mag on the right side of the gun with my middle finger. when i switch to carry a non ambi gun, i struggle dropping the mag.

    Read the manual guys. Do not dry fire these or the fns models. The firing pin will break, ask me how I know. I replace both firing pins in my fns9 and 509 with apex firing pins and use a dummy rd to practice.

    • @MrSmith-zy2bp
      @MrSmith-zy2bp 2 года назад +3

      Sigh 😕 I was afraid the firing breaking was still a thing. Guess I'll stick with Glocks and SIG P320's.

      I am a frequent dry firer, and haven't had any breakages in mine, but I do use snap caps.

    • @looseballs1966
      @looseballs1966 2 года назад

      My FNS9 has a documented 12,837 rounds through it along with enough dry firing time that even a Glock (which I own a few of) is thinking of taking a "break" and has NEVER even hickuped out of line let alone break anything, and my 509 tactical is catching up and no issues what so ever,,,,like anything else it seems guys will repete parrot the one or 2 bad over and over but fail to remember the multiple thousands of perfect ones that offset it,,,but that more than ever seems to be the way of the internet,,,,and no it's been years since I've picked up and read the manual for either of mine since they were new out of box, and those boxes packed away in deep storage so to speak, but I may just dig them out to see what the manufacturers opinion is LOL.

    • @looseballs1966
      @looseballs1966 2 года назад +2

      @@MrSmith-zy2bp look at it this way,,,, firing pins are dirt cheap and plenty available even the "improved heavy duty" ones from Apex tactical so why not just get one or 2 as a spare and keep around just in case(Glocks and Sig's break too don't fool yourself) ( however I did just that and as of yet not needed), they also take less than 5 minutes to change because it is rather simple to change, beauty of the FN is there is pretty much 90% parts interchange and compatibility amongst all model new and old pretty much as good as Glock but in a dare I say it much better out of box gun than you get when buying a Glock,,,but to each their own as they say.

    My first thought when Graham pulled the gun out of the box was: "Damn that looks vanilla..." 😁 On the other hand, it does seem to check all the important boxes in terms of construction and functionalities. That spring really looks like it's a bit stiffer, you can see it when he pressed the slide release. In the end, what I'm wondering was - how much dinero you need for it? FN in general tends to demand more dough.

    • @GBGuns
      @GBGuns  2 года назад +2

      My thoughts too. It's not a "hey look I'm sexy" gun, but you'll see performance in the second video
