Never dared melody when I lived near Chicago ,glad I missed it by all reports. Good on you all for even taking the chance. Excellent to see Justine again. Nice Guinness jumper
It's very simple to make your own Besk/Malört if you want to try it. 1. Buy a bottle of vodka (nonflavoured) 2. Get hold of some wormwood 3. Let the wormwood dry for a few weeks. 4. Take a branch/piece of the dried wormwood and put it in the bottle of vodka. 5 Leave the wormwood in the vodka for an hour. 6. Congratulations! You have made your own besk.
I suspect the incarnation you got is the one that is the reformulation. It's actually more pleasant than the original. That one should have been labeled for external use only.

No one sent us alcohol as those packages get denied by customs. But we managed to get a bottle ourselves! 😁
Thank you for being so mean to them as to make them drink Malort. I needed a lot of laughs this evening.
Dermot described precisely what I did in 1991 with my first shot. "Stomach Bile".
In Chicago, we drink it all the time. Alot of us like it. If you have an Old Style beer and malort we call that a Chicago handshake .
Malört and Old Style beer. The Chicago handshake. It tastes like your mouth got kicked in the balls.
What, no it's Memories of Grampops
I’m from Chicago and I can say from an extensive personal study, it tastes like rubber bands and aspirin poured through a homeless man’s sock. And sadness.
And yet….
I have never seen anyone drink Malort so calmly o.O even the people who hated it here were way more chill than any fellow American I've seen try it and I'm including myself here 😅
Malört is the perfect palette cleanser for the middle of an alcoholic shoot. Anything will taste exquisite after a shot of that.
People of Chicago always know better, whether you've had it or not lol
I absolutely love Justine Stafford's accent, and Daragh also has that wonderful Irish accent. Always a plus when they're in the videos. I had never heart of Malort, and after this video I doubt I'll be looking for it in my favourite liquor store.
It looks like it got everyone buzzed so it's a win. 🏆😊
So happy that Justine has come back.
Why does it feel like Ciara and Dermot already had a few before this shoot started?
I've truly been waiting for this one. Cheers.
Malört= wormwood.
Thank you for finally trying this!
I've been waiting for a long time.
We need Darren for this.
Malort is part of the initiation of new members at many a deer hunting camp in the US Midwest, particularly in Wisconsin, Northern Illinois, and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
Nice is Justine on this video cool looking Guinness sweatshirt and glad she like some the Malört liquor.
Never dared melody when I lived near Chicago ,glad I missed it by all reports. Good on you all for even taking the chance. Excellent to see Justine again. Nice Guinness jumper
Here in Illinois some bars will give out free shots of this stuff. They figure anyone willing to drink it deserves what they get 🤣
It's very simple to make your own Besk/Malört if you want to try it.
1. Buy a bottle of vodka (nonflavoured)
2. Get hold of some wormwood
Oh man... now I'm curious what the original one tastes like.
I didn't like it, but was able to drink it. There was a Chinese liquor of some sort my brother in law ordered in japan.. that one beat me. I couldn't drink it, it tasted like burnt rotten soy sauce.
This is a Chicago "delicacy". It's basically an endurance test.
Malört tastes like someone took a half-full dumpster and used it to distill gin.
Justine S. was driving to work and she suddenly hit a malört.
Malort! My favorite! In chicago, Malort's homeland, they infuse it with all sorts of horrible things haha - I was hoping you would be trying the infusions too!
Welcome to Hell, welcome to Chicago.
SO GLAD to see Justine & Daraghan!!! Loving Ciara & Dermot!!! ❤❤❤ Blaithe & Paddy are a great pair as well!! ❤️❤️❤️ Please forgive the misspelling of names 😊
French: mal=bad. Swedish: ört=herb. Just sayin'....
It's quite nice if you pair it with soda (seltzer) with a twist of citrus- I prefer orange (very similar to a Campari and soda).
It's quite a lot like many Italian or Swiss bitter herbals available.
Chicago pride.
AY yes Irish pub drinks
When Colin was being secretive and then seeing Justine in the video, I thought this was going to be the durian whisky. BTW: not a joke, it actually exists.
I genuinely can’t believe there are so many people that have tasted perfume 😅
Chicagoan here. If you get offered malort always say yes. It's a rite of passage. The company knows it's bad, "Don't enjoy, responsibly"
