    Pronounced Linnerd Skinnerd
I got in a fistfight with the bass player of this band in the parking lot of Dr. Feelgoods in St. Pete, Florida in 1973 before their first big hit. They were just a good local bar band at the time. We were fighting over the results of the battle of Gettysburg...I don't drink tequila anymore...

Next (sitting) is Garry Rossington - Guitarist, Bob Burns (standing), Drummer, Alan Collins, Guitarist, and Eddie King - Guitarist.
R.I.P. to all of the FREEBIRDS from Skynyrd. The musical respect that Skynyrd fans, had, and still have for these guys, cannot be described. Heart and soul from them to us and right back to them again...

You struck gold today! Lynyrd Skynyrd had a LOT of great songs in a relatively short amount of time because a few of the members, including the singer, were killed in a plane crash. Their two biggest hits were probably Freebird and Sweet Home Alabama, but other great songs include: The Ballad of Curtis Loew, Tuesday's Gone, Gimme Three Steps, Call Me The Breeze, I Know A Little, What's Your Name, Gimme Back My Bullets, That Smell, Don't Ask Me No Questions, Saturday Night Special, and You Got That Right. All of the reactors do a certain live version of Freebird, but the audio isn't that great on that one. Unless there's a better live version, I'd rather you do the studio version, although some on here might disagree. They were an excellent live band, but that one particular video that everyone uses doesn't have good sound quality. Have fun hearing all of these great songs for the first time!

Depth. I feel like 70s music really had a depth, a questioning of life, an uncertainty about life that we all feel!!!! I’m so tired of the bravado and ‘certainty’ in contemporary music. ‘I’m this. I’m that. I know this. Take that’. They’ve taken the beauty and wonder out of life. I have questions and most people do too!!!!! ❤❤❤

The Ballad of Curtis Loew is fantastic. Gimme 3 steps, Mr. Saturday night Special, That smell, What's your name, Tuesdays gone. There is a good starters list. Sweet home Alabama as well. Great job here as usual.

Lynyrd Skynyrd was an awesome band, several members died in a plane crash in Mississippi, which kind of disrupted the band for a very long time. They pattern themselves after the Allman Brothers, which you should also check out probably the best southern rock/ blues band of all time. But Lynyrd Skynyrd has a good catalog lots of really great music.
