UPDATE: This amulet drop has been nerfed as of 6 months later. IMHO, still a fun quest to do and interesting to see what the amulet rolls.
UPDATE: One year later, life can now spawn on amulets. Side Quest is still fun, but obviously not as substantial as it once was.
lame. I remembered this video. Came here to refresh where it was for my S3 pvp build. meh

I love how the title literally says do this quest now and then you watch it and he almost immediately tells you to wait until you're lvl 100 😂
I guess you can always do it again at the appropriate level on a seasonal character.
But not before spoiling act IV

I waited til 100 and it’s not any better than yours. No real use for a Sacred amulet post-100 unless you really need the life, but there are way better amulet affixes like movespeed, resource efficiency and a bunch more.
The other quest thats in that area is "by three they come" you get to trace the footsteos of the cinematic where they summon Lilith.
Indeed! A secret quest with a rather... forgettable reward :-/
@@Coooley you get to see the camera zoom out as you cross the bridge though! Lol Personally I didn't like the camera that zoomed out there.
@@olesideburns on the flipside I was like THIS IS WHERE THE ZOOM SHOULD ALWAYS BE lolol
I found the quest and the cinematic to be conflicting.
The cinematic implies there is just a band of grave robbers dragging a monk or priest along (i.e. Symon) to help them break into some vault. Then Elias speaks out of nowhere and completely surprises all of them. Even Symon is taken aback by the appearance of this strange figure.
The in-game quest tells a different story, where Symon willingly follows Elias across western Hawezar and that the thieves were accompanying them and aware of Elias (as indicated by Sev who ditched them to save herself). They were all following his lead and direction on where to dig.
Either way, I really liked the quest line and how it tied back to that original trailer.
@@Vashna He recruited all of them as the one eye swordsman...it's explained in the quest.
He doesn't surprise them in the cinematic either....the guy that dies with the eye patch...that was Elias...as they knew him all their journey. (The surprise is the part where he is immortal and looks different than they all thought.)
Even Symon knew him like that one-eyes mercenary (but followed willingly because he was speaking like a scholar and talking about the knowledge with Symon) but he was telling the others to do it by focusing on the gold rewards they would find (and Symon knew this).
The only problem with that quest is that the woman that doesn't go with them (friend of 2 mercenaries) says one is a barbarian and one is a female theif from Hawezar (or some area)....except it was only males in the cinematic. (They probably mixed dialogue and she was the woman but didn't go with them...and somehow she's the one that says the line ingame ...unless I mixed up who said it).
Amulet slot is way too important with stats like Movement speed, cooldown reduction ect. to waste on a life roll and to waste with only 3 stats.

@@spindoggytheexplorer2915 it’s an old reference to D2 where she always drops like it’s the first time u kill her…. She had higher drop chances. It’s a totally underrated comment for sure with the OG Cooley community.
@@spindoggytheexplorer2915 Basically in Diablo 2 when you do Act 1, you can "Bug Andariel" to make it so that she will always have the much higher drop rate of items that bosses have the first time you kill them.
To do this you need to kill Andariel, portal out of the dungeon, don't talk to anyone else/perform other actions, and go straight to the guy that ports you to Act 2.
Now she will be bugged for that difficulty mode (you need to do this for every difficulty mode you're interested in) and every time you kill her she'll have a much better chance at more loot.
A quick way to check if you did this right is to see if she drops gold or not on your next kills.
"Do this now!"

@@mustang_hryeah 2k hp is nice, but their is definitely better stats I'd want for my build such as spirit cost reduction and cool down reduction.
2k health plus overpower is pretty op
Of course you need to be high level to get the most from it. Likely before I reach 80+ good ol' blizzard will have likely nerfed it, just like most fun or op items in the game.
@@alegl5141 I'd rather take an amulet with 25% damage reduction along with cdr and resource reduction with some %willpower over that. 2k hp on its own with two other stats that are not good for my build is not worth it unless you don't have anything by the time you do that quest line. I doubt blizzard will nerf that neck it's definitely mid tier and their is way better options out there and the 2k extra hp will make no difference in high nightmare dungeons compared to other stat possibilities on amulets.

Cool check. Probably I sharded it about one hour ago not even looking at its stats.
Just finished this quest line as level 100 rogue. Got an item power 818 amulet with 8.5% healing received (7 - 14%), 1314 life (732 - 1359), 17.0% movement speed (10.5% - 17.5%).

Dang bro…. Thank you for taking one for the team man. Ironically, unlike your title I won’t do it now because I should be above level 83 😂
It's jebait... at least for Barbs cd and res are way more important on an amulet
Not to mention this only has 3 stats. Max rolled life on this still wouldn't be worth losing a whole addtl. stat roll, even as HC.
Nice find, but as awesome as a 2k hp roll is, cos it really is, unfortunately that's probably not gonna cut it beyond lvl 70 nightmares. Definitely a great placeholder until you get a proper 4 stat legendary/rare with a Armor % + DR % combo or any other variety of rolls. 2k hp just doesn't make up for having 1 less attribute, amulets can roll not only all the dr related attributes, they can also roll passives in multiple attribute slots, which in many cases can be hugely more valuable than +X to skills because passives tend to be multiplicative. There are just far better slots to get hp from than the amulet slot.
It depends on the class but 2k HP is 4K total when factoring in fortify. If you're reaching the 50% DR softcap from other sources, the only way to get tankier is armor and HP; this is why people clearing T100 sigils are prioritizing those stats and running disobedience on the necklace.
Same thought, but still a good charm for "fortify builds" since fortify gives you 10% DR and there are attributes that give high DR for being fortified, while also increasing overwhelming damage quite a bit.
@@Mekose there is no damage reduction cap bro what are you talking about. And fortify is not a shield that mitigate damage, so 2k life is just 2k life not 4k.
@@ChubbyPOE If you have Fortify you get a 10% damage reduction, which you can increase with Gems, but still... 50% Damage reduction means 2000+1000 = 3000 HP, not 4000. xD
@@ChubbyPOE You can read the tooltip "as this stat increases, addition bonus become less effective" It's the same thing as elemental resistances. Any bonus past 50% becomes significantly less effective.
Also your max fortify is equal to your max HP, so if you have 10k HP you can have 10k fortify. While fortified you have a passive base 10% damage reduction that can be increased through gems or affix rolls.
I see my misunderstanding though. Fortify doesn't act as a shield or 2nd HP bar like I thought. It does give you damage reduction and scales overpower damage, but it doesn't act like barrier.
It’s a dogshit useless item. I threw it away as soon as I got it. It has 3 stats. all the other neckless in game got 4. 1000 Hp is good. But you could get like a flat 15 % damage reduction and 15% damage or like 20 % damage reduction while fortified or 25 % less damage from close etc. Those are way more effective Hp. Also healing received is another dogshit stat ,don’t know which build even takes that. Even if this one could be 1000 item level I wouldn’t use it. It’s just a blue item disguised as yellow. Trap item. Avoid it at all cost.
Also good to know that unique items from unique elites in the open worlds, may drop past the 820 item power cap and rand up to 840 item power. If you're lucky enough this can step up your build by a lot due the high base damage that comes with it
Dmg stats on the weapons scale exponentially the higher the item lvl goes btw 😅😊
i completed it at level 90 - total trash amulet.
I also did a quest, I can't remember where, i think the desert region and the reward was a recipe for a potion that makes you unstoppable. not as badass as this but def useful as you can use the potion when you are CC'd
Iron Wolf quest chain for recipe called Curative Elixir. 1 second of unstoppable and 50% poison resist/5% xp for 30mins.
All these rares are garbage, they always have 1 less stats, for example this amulet instead of 4 it only has 3.
Not to mention that it can't roll cooldown reduction by default you have to reroll it.
Any amulet without CDR is worthless (some niece builds are probably out there that scales with resource cost reduction instead)
hit level 80 and cooled down for a couple days now. this video made me start my game up right away lol
Did this at level 100. Got it at item power 671. :) Just do this whenever possible since you'll possibly get the worst rolls ever
Thanks for this, Coooley. I will look into it NOW. 😏
Thanks for the info, I'll save the quest for World Tier 4 when I'm a much higher level. That's a LOT of max health for a Sorcerer like me, probably "best in slot" at least for me anyway.
No it isn't. You want +3 ranks to defensive and either core/mastery depending on build. And then cdr + a 4th stat of your choice or whatever u can get
As you mentioned there are unique spawns you can target farm for gear. IMO it is a currently under-explored place for character progression and along with unique drops like this could help players transition into new world tiers more efficiently. The unique spawn I'm camping atm is a demon on the northwest coast that always drops a 2h sword and given the implicit stats and increased item level is going to be a big boost to my build any time I can kill him in a new World Tier.
would you happen to remember the name of the side quest?
@@incHsos the unique monster I am camping is a rare spawn. his name is Almunn/Jebtaa and he spawns on the middle west of scarred coast in the dark area. You can look his location up on any of the interactive maps.

I love items like this, and Grim Dawn started it (AFAIK) with Monster Infrequents, which were also retrofitted into Titan Quest. These are rare magic items that only drop from certain monsters and have really cool build defining abilities that are often better than the "best" items in the game, if you're making that specific build.
Diablo 3 already did that for few legendary items in specific worlds, but also if you play the game on normal, you can find blue items with unique effects, or just unique lore items. And that was 4 years before Grim Dawn came out. Hamburger daggers, rainbow sword, Rakanishu blade chance to turn fallen into allies.
Good thing I did that quest a few hours ago and most likely scrapped the item 😂

If we have learned anything from Diablo, Diablo 2, and Diablo 3, your hit points don't mean shit at end game.
2k life look nice but let's be honest here, barrier/fortify generation is the way to go ATM in this game for survivability
Yes, but you can do that in other slots (and possibly even with this item). 2k more life to fortify is insane especially when you consider that it can't spawn naturally in this item slot.
its pretty good on sorc thou, cus hot damn do we have alot of shield that base off % hp
@@scorpdelord883 Pretty sure all barriers that go off max life don't take added life from items into account.
That honestly isn't true for every class. On my lvl 80 hybrid rogue (no imbues or traps), I leech so much, max hp matters more than other classes, because I only need to refrain from being one shot. There's also no solid way to make barriers. Trying to do so with my build would be entirely fruitless.
@@Coooley you are misunderstanding how fortify works my friend. The fortified life does not help mitigate damage in any way.

THAT IS THE AMULET I NEED BUT WITH IMBUE SKILLS OMG LOOKING FOREVER
