South of France (in a Truck) Part 2 of 2

- Part 2 of our recent trip to the South of France sees us get our drop off then head to a park up that turns out to be the wrong choice !
After some quick thinking we have a lucky escape & set off for our last drop just before we get blocked in for the night !
Alls well in the end & after tipping the last drop in the morning we get the trailer washed out & reload for the UK ending up with one of my colleagues for the night & our journey home.

Done rungis once in 1976 , load of hanging from duggins abatoir, never went there again thankfully, it looks alot tidier now tho, did south of france regular mainly mazamet between beziers and toulose, came back up through poitiers N10 or autoroute via lyon if i had the cash, i think it was around 80 french francs back then, and "one hit" 15/16 hours to calais, log books were great but not good for sleeping, i was in mazamet one, thrs tipped and sat all day waiting for reload only to be told it was in lille friday morning, i left mazamet at 7pm and drove all night getting to lille at 7 am, loaded there and back to calais, cleared dover friday night/saturday morning and got back home to yard saturday afternoon, volvo f88,.290 16 speed,.32 gvw,.retired now at nearly 70 y/o and wouldn't want to do it now, even with the modern motors,.cheers breeze.

Grenoble brings back happy (but panic) memories. Its the place we lost the car. I was ready to call the police to say that the car had been stolen so that they could find it instead. Anyway, I visited the Tourist Office to get a town map, and voila, found the place as it was parked under the underpass. Whew!!!!🤣🤣🤣

I have been up the Tio Pepe tower at Jerez. I have also had the privelage of doing motorcycle track days on the circuit. And of course, many times been to the MotoGP. The atmosphere on race day is amazing. Interesting choice for your ashes....
Hi Neale, having worked in MotoGP, F1, BSB & many others I spent a good deal of time in Jerez. Like you say race day there is one of the best along with the final in Valencia however my favourites were the tests especially after Valencia when riders would move up classes or switch Teams. I was there when VR moved to Ducati 😃. Thanks for watching mate & keep a look out as I think I’ve a motorsport trip coming up very soon 😜
