Since I'm seeing a lot of comments about this: I excluded glistering melons since you couldn't eat them, and they didn't restore hunger.
I'm surprised so many people are saying that I forgot about them when they were never even edible.

Bread should honestly make it to the top 10. Good starter food, breeds villagers when you need, and is easily renewable.

@@yuridc1780 yeah, it's a STARTER food. I was talking about it during that phase of minecraft gameplay. It's still viable during mid-endgame but in a different way(villagers)
@@chronic5577 only if there are villages, otherwise farming for bread yourself is absolutely inefficient, you need a 3 wheat crops for a single bread, while a single potato crop and cook it can give you more item and hunger. It's main use is for villages, which on that case I will agree as an early item, but breeding? No, 3 breads can trigger villager love mode, that's 9 wheat crops and a crafting table, and again the 3 other crops will give more than one, can be given directly, and doesn't require a crafting table, plus drops can be further increased with fortune, even if it cost 15 items of the 3 crops that can drop around 3 items(around 5 crops total) to trigger breeding, it's way easier.
This is obviously a meme joke video idk why you'd even care about it

It bothers me so much that glistering melons can't be eaten. They're crafted by surrounding a food item with gold nuggets (just like golden carrots), they were added as a potion ingredient (just like golden carrots), but they can't be eaten (not like golden carrots)! Golden apples also *used to be* crafted the same way with gold nuggets, although this was eventually changed to the modern recipe with ingots. Glistering melons ought to be edible!
Yeah, I found this out the hard way when I had a lot of Melons and no spare carrots as well as a lot of spare gold in my survival world
There’s also a rare chance you can find one breaking melons

I've unironically considered making a fully automatic rabbit farm on many many occasions. they're the only mob that can breed without player intervention, their babies are small enough to fit under a half slab, and the adults are able to burn themselves in lava afterwards. it's perfect
You can do the same with chicken
It's a farm of the future. If bundle ever make it into the game people will use rabbit hide. Plus jump potions now have a use with the mace.

Gotta say, I think a lot of people don't understand how great saturation suspicious stews are.
I think a big reason as to why people don't understand/know how great they are, has to do with the fact they're not stackable, so a lot of people don't bother to make the stews anyways.
They may also associate it with beetroot soup or mushroom stew, which are pretty awful foods and think that suspicious stews must be similar.

Cooked porkchop and beef are for me as they give me four hunger bar than mutton which is three by the way. Most farms give you 0-2 of hunger bar be it raw or soup variants. Rabbits are rare for me because I'm not a travel across the Minecraft wide world but rather stay at spawn and make a tiled deepslate/nether bricks/polished blackstone bricks/stone bricks house.

I've always wanted to talk about Minecraft and let people know more about the game, but I felt that if I like talked about it all history channel documentary style it wouldn't be fun to watch, so I add in jokes and memes to mix things up a bit.
I'm still experimenting to find that balance of informative and entertaining, and it's comments like these that give me a sense as to how close I am to perfecting it.

Fun fact, it's rather easy to make Suspicious Stew that has Saturation, you just need to add dandelions to the mushroom stew recipe, which takes all of the randomness away.
Mushroom stew is easily 7 for me. You can get them Aslong as you milk the mushroom. Like bruh you don’t have to worry ever about making the stew Aslong as you have a bowl and a mushroom. It’s great for usage when it’s early on and don’t exactly have the resources or time to get the fact stack of food
I put it lower because of it doesn't stack, and mushroom biomes are hard to come by. It also generally doesn't age well into mid and late game.
ALSO it’s stupid because if you take all the ingredients needed to craft mushroom stew and eat them separately, it gives MORE HUNGER POINTS THAN THE ACTUAL STEW ITSELF like WHAT

in my opinion, i think mushroom stew should have been placed a little higher since it’s one of the only food sources you can obtain in the nether if you’re out of food (the other being cooked pork chop from hogs) but it is a hassle since it takes up one space per item and it’s a very niche situation if you’re stuck in the nether without food
Good point, although I feel that mushroom spots are hard to come by from my experience
I literally survived in nether on 1 hp only with mushroom stews
Also you must be happy that the 2024 April fools was all about The Poisonous Potato
Basically the real winner of this ranking list is Golden Apple. Realistically, poisonous potato should go all the way back behind tropical fish.

14:06 actually, if you're playing on Java edition, you can tell whether the crop is fully grown by pressing F3 and looking for something like growth stage while looking at the crop
you can just buy bookshelves from librarians and then break them instead of spending 15 minutes finding cows every time
I'm part of the movement to give poisonous potatoes a craft recipe: putting nine of them in the crafting table gives you THE ULTIMATE POISONOUS POTATO which makes nothing but give you more poison
Honestly I think sweet berries is the best. They are not only the easiest to farm they are like a carrot with the no seeds thing they act like a watermelon meaning after the first grow the rest are faster you don't need water or farmland they don't need as much light and they are the easiest food to make into an auto farm. Plus if you surround a trapped snow golem you now have defenses you don't have to reload and if you have to replace one it's just snow. Something the golem makes more of and the pumpkin you can reuse by shearing it.
Sweet berries are pretty good yeah! They're like bamboo but instead of cheap sticks it gives you cheap food, emerald and the ability to tame foxes, I placed them high for a reason
@@XayXayYT Ya and im kinda glad not going to lie. Most people rank based on just it's food aspect. But that is only good if food had no other use and you could just materialize from nothing. It's use outside of food and how easy it is key. Witch is why I like your list. You actually go into that.

I gotta ask why didn't you put suspicious stew in? If you feed a brown mooshroom cow a dandelion and then milk it with a bowl you get suspicious stew except this time it only gives positive effects and has the best saturation in the game.

I agree with this list, early to mid game I'm all baked potatos, late game golden carrots. i save all the poisonus potatos i manage to farm and rename them "mews spicy taders" then give them out on multiplayer servers
also worthy mention, rabbit farms are the most slept on emerald/xp farm in the game

From my little research in 1.15.2 a few years ago iirc milking brown mooshroom after feeding it a dandelion gives the saturation effect, but, also taken from the wiki at that point of time, stew+saturation gives slightly more saturation than golden carrots so there's that unless the wiki was wrong
