When I hear halo I think of team respawn. You guys are really amazing and a prime of example of dedication and hard work. You make so many people laugh and inform us ( a community )on cool details. My condolences go to guys over the 4 years of watching.

It's a fantastic game, would love to see an experiment of Halo Wars 1 mixed with the feel of Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance.

I'm reading these comments, and my jaw just DROPPED. WYM, "there are players on Xbox"?!?? Where were you guys back in 2016? 😭 I joke, but I'm really happy there are players. And of course, channels like this, as well as other forums and communities contribute to old playerbases sticking around. That's just awesome.

Love this game it has the most special place in my heart and was my introductory game to Halo. For a Xbox 360 RTS it holds itself well and artistically sits high Among all the other halo games.

Absolutely loved Halo Wars. 100% it on the Xbox 360. I remember grinding with my friends to hit general and some matches lasting more than 3 hours due to stubborn turtle strats.
Halo Wars 1 definitely has it’s flaws (luckily a lot of them are small issues that could be scrubbed with bug fixes and rebalancing. There’s plenty of mods that do this and since they differ the player can figure out how they prefer the game to be), but when you take into consideration the game’s disastrous development with Bungie being openly hostile towards them and repeatedly trying to get them shut down it’s straight up a miracle it turned out the way it is. Sure, it’s pretty bare bones as far as rts games go, but it works beautifully as an introductory title and plays super well on console (the sequel has some improvements and downgraded. Both games do certain things better than the other does). I personally would’ve preferred the game to resemble the e3 demo (hopefully that leaks one day. Since the Duke Nukem Forever 2001 build and the Nintendo 64 version of Dinosaur Planet (morphed into Star Fox Adventures) both leaked I’d say anything’s possible). If someone is super hardcore into the more complex rts games it probably isn’t for them, but if you really like Halo and are more of a casual rts gamer you should absolutely play it. I had a blast in the campaign (aside from the first Arcadia mission) and skirmishes (two favorite leaders are Regret because of his flying chair and Cutter because you can just spam the ODST drop).
I really wish that we could’ve gotten more leaders and a dlc campaign. Luckily mods can do the first of these (sadly custom levels can’t really be made and you’d just have to reuse the already existing missions with the enemies swapped).
I really hope that one day they put the second game on Steam with added content, rebalancing/fixing bugs, and maybe even modding tools (same upgrades would be applied to 1). It doesn’t make much sense that Microsoft isn’t doing anything with this side franchise. There’s plenty of things they could do with the formula.

God I love yalls content and it's sad to see a game yall enjoy greatly fading away into the abyss without the love and respect it deserved. Through the Team Respawn group I've come to love the RTS games again and how to have fun in video games again!

Ranking up in halo wars 1 was long. While it did get me to play for alot longer, especially with achieving that top rank achievement, it was quite difficult.
Destroying buildings were one way of scoring high, but enemies usually would just quit as soon as they lose there army.
But other than that, halo wars 1 was a great game. Nice to be able to upgrade jackels which was lost in halo wars 2.

Things that are better in this one than 2. Are raining down of odst. Spartans get stars. Raining down of Mac blast. Scarib is cooler. Engineers are better. Scorpion tanks are better. Arbiter is alot of fun. And the prophet is fun.
If only we could get battle for middle earth on steam..

If we have halo wars 2 units and leaders with only the halo wars 1 map, Halo wars would be a masterpiece, I loved both halo wars but the first one the units were not balanced at all but the maps were amazing where halo wars 2 2/3 of the maps sucks but units, variation leaders are very good in general.
Even though I suck at this game, I have always loved this game. Sucks that none of my friends play RTS games
Such a great game! And if you have the Xbox app on your pc you can play with friends on Xbox but not on the steam version. Nonetheless this game is amazing definitely worth a try!
I probably have 200 days playing this game lol if the ranks went above 1 star general I would be five star. This is my favorite game by far. I still play it to this day

Remaster. It’s basically the same as the 360 aside from some graphical improvements and all the dlc/preorder content being available (like one or two skins and maybe an extra skull. Not sure).

Probably Xbox, but Steam is where I prefer to find games.

I think this game really has more life to live, this channels a little bias but its excusable to the excellence Ensemble Studios accomplished in one of the first RTS games of Halo but also the first successful Xbox console gaming. Its truly an amazing game, I also love the citing of the development thats really cool.
