- Playing the first mission of the campaign in the Age of Mythology Retold Beta.
The Beta is running from the 12th till the 14th of July.
PS: I can't remove the text bumping around in the screen, that is done by the developers(i assume) for the beta.
One of the most popular mods will be adding back the old voice lines.

I just hope they’re placeholders. Some devs who recorded their voice to get a sense of the pace in the animations. Hopefully, the voice actors will be different in the final release.

@@atiqbirb8352 I don’t think so, they sound pretty human to me. But we’ll see. If this was the real deal, Microsoft still has a few weeks to rework the voice parts of the game. A lot of people are displeased with the casting and overall delivery of these actors. It’s like the most complained thing I’ve heard so far from Retold.
I honestly don't vibe with the new voice acting. It feels flat and borderline directionless.
Arkantos sounds almost too young. He doesn't exhibit the same level of confidence and authority as the original
And Athena just sounds worse. The accent, like with Arkantos, is totally fine, but the original's soft voice really let on that she knew more than what she was letting on and that she was something beyond mortal. It just sounded more fitting for a goddess of war and wisdom.

Aww im gonna miss Athena's soft and seductive voice. But thats accurate that she speaks with Greek accent.

@@aidieltaufik9954they didn’t pay some new voice actors so they could scrap their lines at the last minute
My theory is why the voice line replacement is due to potential new campaigns (dlc) including old characters, so the voice actor change was necessary
I’m with everyone about the voice lines but can we talk about how big that kraken is? 😅
Ive noticed in the few missions ive seen thay they've redesigned them a bit, like here they've taken out your town centre so that new players don't have to worry about economy much until the second mission, and old players can't over-macro their way to victory
Original had an amazing mission design and map layout, the voice acting on the original was spot on for the time and it holds up nicely even today.
Original Arkantos sounds a lot, more experienced and sounds better overall, I don't really care for an accent since the og sounded better.
I really hope they didn't ruin Ajax, his gruff voice was a good reason to stay on your toes when building a trojan horse back in the day.
They could've added sooo much stuff, like lip animations, or sailors rowing the ships instead of automated rows 😂😂.
If you're doing a remake, you've gotta do it right. The campaign was a big part of this game, and they should respect it.
One other thing I notice is that the soldiers are not cheering after Arkantos :(

I feel like voice actor’s could work since I like the idea of greek accents, but I can’t tell if they actually got Greek actors and the delivery is bad.
Nah man cutscenes look like mobile game. Why should I see them like cartoon. Previous cutscenes and normal subtitles were good
Might be only me but big character portraits look really out of places and i kinda miss the old blocky look of the game more.
Athena had a sexier voice in the original.
And the kraken left a tiny red puddle of blood in the water
why not revoice all voiceline? only certain characters have new va. seems like they wanna cut cost on background characters

Curious why they made atlantis an existign greek island on the map, instead of that fake island off spain in the og. Voice acting is fine, but man I will miss the old ones.
Why are they revoicing. Definitely going to be looking for a mod to fix that. The new voices are horrible
Is there a way to use legacy voice acting?
Someone did mention that a mod would bring back the old voices, i don't know more about it though!
@@RemVeeGaming Yes, well it would also make a lot of sense to have this option in the settings. They also announced legacy god portraits.

Holy crap those new voice are crunchy and flat. Idk why they didn’t just use old voices or bring back the old actors and have them re-record or something. Visually great tho so idk
Ajax's voice actor, Charles Rocket, sadly passed away in 2005 so they would have to recast him if they didn't use his old lines.

Remake rules 101 don't try to fix something that doesn't need fixing. Graphics and gameplay? Yes with the hardware and software now you can. The VAs try so hard and can't match the OG

Wait god powers in campaign limited use?
You could use some multiple times, but some had a limit of uses i believe or would cost a lot of favor to use again
