Halo Wars in general is massively underutilized. With how scarce the RTS genre has been in recent years Microsoft has the literal golden egg to capitalize on the market. If we ever get a Halo Wars 3 I believe it has the potential to take the RTS crown from StarCraft 2 (especially since blizzard looks like they want it to end with Korean esports being shut down).
Halo Wars 2's campaign was perfectly serviceable. The game itself is wonderful for any RTS enjoyer and pretty easy to pick up. Multiplayer is pretty fun and varied too. Lack of maps is a little sad though
I've recently just got back into Halo Wars 2 (Since owning it from day 1) due to having it on the PC! It's just a shame every time I've wanted to play online it's constant "Server Issues" But Halo Wars 1 Online doesn't have them issues.
It warms my heart and makes my day when, on Steam Community, 343 does some pandering PSA post like "Happy Women's Month!"... which immediately gets flooded with responses from players like us such as "women would like Halo Wars 2 ported to Steam"
I still think Halo Wars 2 looks so purdy and fantastical. The weapons, the special powers you can call down and eviscerate all in your wake... they're just so , and it makes AoE4 look really dry by comparison.
I wish they added flood as a playable leader, the assets are there for the units. Also getting what halo 3 had as a “veto” system for lousy maps would have been a nice touch. And having a 2v2v2 or free for all would have been awesome and probably would’ve gotten us some new maps if those were added to the game
Been getting into halo wars 2 again, been having fun with it again. I missed using the strategic parts of my brain and trying better strategies. Always enjoyed playing with odst units. This would be a great time for halo wars 3
I love hw2, but the severs kill me. I hate when I DC or when the game doesn't even load because someone couldn't connect, and then there is the lack of game support, which sucks other wise its pretty fun
It needs more leaders or new special units you can make like in the first halo wars. For example when you use profesor Anders you could upgrade your hornet up to a hawk unit which was a feature they shouldn’t have removed. Also they need to buff captain carter or at least make it to were you can make odst’s from the barracks like the first halo wars.
For some reason i always have huge lag spikes in every game i play in halo wars 2. I absolutely love it so i power thru, but its actually unplayable, i don’t understand why i get it though. I’ve got a series X with amazing connection, anyone else w the same issue?

The only thing they mentioned by far is uploading the trailer song. I wish or hope they might consider a HW2 update in the future. Doubts are still there though.
Yeah I agree, I've modded Halo Wars 1 and 2 and biggest problem plaguing Halo Wars 2 modding is the fact the game isn't easily modable as HW1 because it's not on Steam and isn't a ModifiableWindowsApp unlike TMCC. So some tools made for HW1 have not been ported over to HW2 like the UGX importer so no custom models. Another thing is the Frontend UI system is confusing to work with. I couldn't get custom gamemodes to work, also Terminus and Blitz Firefight are unable to be modified due to a check built into the game to replace the modified files with their unmodified versions. So no custom Blitz Units like the Rally Grizzly, not sure about FF maps tho. Will have to see
I have been playing this game since 2016 it has been the ONLY gane I have played religiously since then and still play it nearly daily to this day. Just shows you how good it is and I can hop on easily at any time and always find players which tells me this games player base is strong still shame they nixxed Halo Wars 3 we NEED another game ASAP there is just way too much potential with the lore and amount of units, weapons, characters and etc the Halo universe has to offer

I’m optimistic about the state of Halo. It’s great that Bonnie Ross is gone. She was likely the cause of the bad decisions for Halo. I’m hoping that a lot of the 343i employees that were laid off recently are the people that “hate Halo” to quote 343i. Battlefield 2042 has been improved a lot with its change in management. I’m hopeful that same will happen with 343i.
After the disaster of Coh3 and knowing we will never get a Halo Wars 3 and 2 will never get any new content makes me sad af for the future of rts games

That would be really difficult, and wouldn't actually be that desirable. Its like a spork not as good as a spoon or fork in their respective roles but it may be able to do both. Of you want an epic fps where you are in a large battlefield, you'd be looking for a modern halo fps that plays like halo 3, we honestly front need higher fidelity graphics, halo 3 still looks really good despite being from 2007. With modern hardware and a more artistic take on graphics, making a large scale immerse fps halo title is easily doable, especially in the more mission campaign styled design. You can mod large ai battles in halo 3 already as it has a pretty forgiving ai cut off threshold.
We need Halo Wars 3.

We need the aesthetic design of Halo Wars: Alpha Footage. That was so much better graphically than what we got in retail.

They really need to come back and patch it. Certain co op campaign maps are unplayable if someone has a OG Xbox one and a Series X.

Halo Wars 2 doesn't run properly on the series s/x. CONSTANT CRASHES is just absolutely bogus. 343 was a terrible company to put in charge of halo.
Well there are rumors that Microsoft is taking away the rights of making mainstream halo games from 343 hopefully this is true
