I can’t believe that the parents would leave their children alone in a known haunted house.
I find that part, is what makes me not believe this whole story. And why is every single haunted video always hard to watch, this girl was alone for 3 hours, yet she can't just for 1 minute of that time, hold the camera steady. Movie was a fun watch though.

They left their daughter at home alone at night. In a home that appeared to be ransacked (remember the giant footprint in the kitchen) because “they had no other choice”. That’s absolutely appalling

I think the spookiest thing about this story is that a door is the only thing that can stop a ghost from coming in
I think it follows the psyche of the human mind, knowing it well for so many millennia that it uses concepts that we adhere to, to toy with and mess with the head of the human victim. It's like it's laughing at the effort of the human who understands the constraints of a doorway, leaving her desperate to keep the door closed at all costs. She's burning and draining precious energy trying to win that sane concept, while it laughs maliciously at that, knowing it is not obstructed by a wall any more than a door.
I have direct experience from my childhood, that supports the theory that only blankets can protect you from ghosts, and that throwing a blanket over a manifested apparition will make it disappear! 🤍🫥🤍

Evil entities produce evil energy which often causes people the fight. As aggressive and powerful this poltergeist was it's no surprise the family was all constantly fighting.

That story caught me! Wow! I am a nurse and have experienced a few things. It really sent a shiver throughout me. Later, as I was reflecting on the story, I realized I, too, write off am dismissive. I am very hesitant to believe the story, besides the fact I am a skeptic, the families behavior does not seem like a logical response. Besides the fact the cops were never called, there is no way a parent would leave their child in a house that they believe is haunted.
From what I can tell, the thing didnt seem harmful until the end. Nothing it did would make me feel like I'm at to much of a risk to not stay home for an hour or two, when you know that's your home and you got no where else to go and you wanna stay home you'll convince yourself you're fine to do it. How I see it, they left right after it showed its willing to hurt them. I mean if that's your home and you cant leave without going bankrupt you're gonna sometimes be home alone, over the span of a month there's gonna be a moment where youre home alone plus if that was me I would be somewhat wanting to get a video of it. Seems like towards he end they wanted proof and until the end like I said it didnt seem malicious, just annoying lol so wanting to get a video if this thing doing something like dropping something would constantly be on my mind. And as for going to the cop, you go to the cops and tell them a ghost is trashing your home lol see how that goes for you

The homes were probably built on a graveyard. The only paranormal I've experienced was my daughter's school book disappearing and reappearing. She had it next to her on the couch when she went to bed and I saw it there too. Next morning for school, we both looked all over for it and so did her sister and it was nowhere to be found. After school/work, we came home and it was right there on the edge of the couch where she had been sitting. It was NOT there when we left or while we were looking for it and no one was there through the day until we got home.

Sounds like it was gaining energetic momentum to do the hallway like that. It was draining the girl completely. Sometimes telling these entities they cannot have your lifeforce will shut them down. Who knows? This is beyond anything I've heard of.

or.... it's just people not being able to accept that something paranormal is happening so they get angry at each other thinking one of them is responsible. I don't think this was "evil", I don't think "evil" is an actual thing that exists in reality - it's an entirely human concept that relies upon a subjective sense of right and wrong, which are never quite the same for all people. In truth nothing and no one is purely good or purely evil, things are a lot more complex than that. None of the activity was actually that malevolent or harmful before that point. It didn't try to harm anyone and it basically seemed to just be trying to annoy the shit out of them/scare them out of the house, probably because it viewed them as intruders. I think the peace offering would have worked, if Matt wasn't so insistent about being violently opposed to even acknowledging the shit happening in their house. Like why throw the peace offering, even if you don't think the paranormal entity is even real, why does their little peace offering ritual offend you so much and why do you feel the need to destroy it? lmao.

Because Matt rightfully recognized that what they were doing whether they knew it or not was witchcraft. That’s why the entity brought the cat figurine back in the house. The entity was encouraging them to set up more alters or idols in its honor. The thing wasn’t malevolent? It didn’t bring them warm cookies and milk, it tried to burn the house down with the daughter in it. Did you miss that part?
This is one of those stories that I never forget.
One thing I’ve learned about spirits in all my studies and interactions with them is that they don’t operate according to our time space and its constraints.
That will explain how the split second object manipulations occurred, the spirit’s ability to make sure what it is doing goes unheard if it chooses for it to be and the retrieval of the cat figurine after it is thrown away outside.
Amazing and very unsettling all at the same time.

Some people might but NOT the police. John is out of his damn mind saying they should have called the police. That's the last thing anybody should do if they think paranormal stuff is happening! They get really really mad about anything they think is a prank. You can get fined and if you call repeatedly you can also get black listed to where they won't send officers out to your house anymore unless you tell them you're in immediate danger of bodily harm from another person. That isn't supposed to be a thing but it is. A friend of mine was a cop and he told me about this messed up incident where a burglar beat an old lady almost to death and she wasn't found for a few days cause the officers on duty faked responding to the call. She was a little out there and had called twice insisting that people were tunneling under her house and trying to come up through the floor. Apparently the officers decided crazy people can't have real emergencies. That incident is one of the ones that made my friend quit being a cop.
I knew Mr Ballen for his tragic and well told stories but I didn't know he also covered ghost stories. This is perfect for my vacations because I was looking for some spine chilling ghost stories to listen to while I'm drawing. Thank you Mr Ballen

This story is reminding me of an incident that happened when I was a child.
My family and I woke to a weird scene one early morning. Much like the story, we found all the bottles from the bathtub, and bathroom cabinets, arranged in a big circle on the floor. Then in the kitchen, everything that was in the fridge, was now in rows on the floor.
Everyone believed that i did it, even though i was pleading otherwise.
Well a few nights later, i was woke by the sound of my bedrooms door being closed. Even though i was totally freaking out at this point because i was convinced that we had a ghost, I walked out of my room to investigate. I seen the bathroom light was on so i go peek inside. What I see is, my older sister sitting in middle of the floor gently placing bottles all around her. I then run to wake my parents so they can witness this, with their own eyes, in hopes to get myself off the hook. Everyone was so sure it was me. So, we all sneak in to the bathroom and then my mom says," what are you doing?" My sister just continues arranging the bottles like she didn't hear a thing. We soon realized that my sister sleepwalks, and does weird things.

@Eternal Cowboy I was born in the 60's and never saw it. We were never left alone, and our mum worked. Maybe different here in Australia, but for us it was not common at all.
My mother wouldn't have left me alone in those circumstances when I was 40.
Out of all the ghost shows, Paranormal Witness was the only one I watched, it definitely delivered unlike the other ones!
