- 12 Strange Signs Your Body Needs More Magnesium.
Magnesium is a very important electrolyte mineral used in over 350 enzyme reactions in the human body. It's heavily involved with the nervous system and in the contraction/relaxation of muscle cells throughout the body.
Only 1% of the magnesium in the body is stored in the blood, so blood tests wont usually tell you if you are deficient in magnesium or not, which is why doctors often overlook this problem.
For this reason, today we identify 12 common yet strange signs of magnesium deficiency to watch out for including twitching muscles, waking up in the night, irritation and nervousness, heart fluttering, high blood pressure, muscle cramps amongst others.
I also explain why magnesium deficiency happens, and some natural ways to boost your magnesium intake, and activate it inside the body.

What about magnesium malate?
@@richardpickersgill3434 Malate is better for pain and fibromyalgia. 💚
This video is so very informative I have sent it to myself so that I can absorb it better after a couple of views. I suffer with atrial fibrillation so I'm hoping that I will get some relief from the symptoms by taking magnesium... thank you so much for sharing your knowledge .
Thank you ❤❤❤❤❤
My husband mag didn't even show on blood tests. He was grey skinned lost all energy. We couldn't find the problem. Then a doc checked mag. Turns out his heart meds deplete his mag. He has to take 400 or 500 every night
̶1̶2̶ 13 signs of magnesium deficiency:
1) Twitching muscles or tetany especially upper or lower eyelid
2) Waking up between 2 to 3 a.m. due to high levels of cortisol which is combatted by magnesium
3) Irritability due to hypoglycemia, this can be counteracted with magnesium along with potassium and sodium
4) Heart flutters - if don't have enough magnesium, calcium enters cells and causes hyperexcitability, take magnesium glycinate
5) High blood pressure/headaches/migraines
6) Constipation - supports relaxation of smooth muscle of colon and supports peristalsis, magnesium citrate draws water into colon
7) Bone pain - stimulates PTH to drive calcium into bone
8) Stiff joints - could be due to low magnesium or to vitamin C or copper deficiency which are both involved in building collagen
9) Anxiety - need magnesium as well as potassium and vitamin B1
10) Cravings for chocolate (chocolate contains magnesium but also contains oxalates which can bind to magnesium causing an endless loop of cravings)
11) Clawed hands or feet (carpopedal spasm)
12) Muscle cramps
13) Asthma - take magnesium glycinate as well as vit D3 and vit K2
❤
Thank you
Thank you SO MUCH.❤
And like to see hot women in a short dress
Excellent suggestions. I take 400mg daily. I have several types of magnesium but I realize the glycinate is best absorbed by the body. Thank you!
buy a papaya ... peel it, cut it up into bite size chunks and eat the fruit .. then freeze the seeds .. there'll be 100+ in a single papaya ... once seeds are frozen, take about 15-20 and crush/mash them with the flat side of a cleaver ... put it all in a spoon, pop it in the mouth and quickly wash it down with water... do this once a week and you'll have all the correct magnesium needed for that week ... by correct I mean the magnesium that supports nerve function, mental acuity and muscle cramp blocking.
FairwayJack Many thanks for this suggestion. I can't believe how many beneficial nutrients I have discarded in the past!
Those seeds also kill internal parasites.
I heard this years ago from a Dr Prakash Kondekha. I doubt I've spelt his name correctly. Ayurvedic. Wonderful.
SO valuable to know. THANK YOU! Have copied this.
Thank you!!!!!
Thanks for the information, very helpful!
Best video I have seen on this topic

Great Video, THANK YOU 🙏
Excellent thank you!!❤
What an excellent video
Most beneficial video.I thank you a lot Sir.
Very informative video 🎉 thank you
According to a cardiologist “York Cardiology” said Magnesium Taurate or Citrate are good for hearts. I personally take the latter for constipation. Thank you.
This York Doctor and Ryan are two thoughtful persons , who cares for people.
It wasn’t long ago that all forms of magnesium were considered equal. Several years ago the Magnesium Taurate was considered the best but then came Glycinate, Bisglycinate and Threonate. I personally take a Tri-Magnesium supplement with Taurate, Glycinate and Threonate. It absorbs and works well for me and my family including 89 y/o mom. The citrate loosens my stool too much.
York Cardiologist Dr Sanjay Gupta very good advice.
CLARITY ....WELL EXPRESSED.!
Awsome! Thank you 🙏 😊
Extremely helpful. Thank you 👌💖
Thank you for sharing
Absolutely Awesome video. I just subscribed. Thank you so very much! ❤😊❤
This is simple to understand, great advice. I started on a magnesium supplement and I have less anxiety, leg cramps in the night, and I sleep better.

Thank you
I got better and clearer information from this post than I did when I actually went to my doctor to ask about this stuff. Thank you.
You are most welcome. 💚
Agreed and funny how that works!!!
Thank you for the video! 90%+ of the symptoms I was aware of; but then there were ones I had never considered, nor heard of. At 78, I take a goodly amount of magnesium glycinate. But something was still off. Now I know what was off, thanks to your video. Btw, I just ordered Mag Threonate, which will be delivered tomorrow. Thanks again!
Loved fr india watched midnights 2.20am compare to other yourubers i learnt lot from this. Thank u

My pleasure 💚
Thank you for the information. Going to fire my DO.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR VALUABLE INFORMATION. I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT MAGNESIUM THREATE...SP....BUT WILL FIND IT,
Ive never has seizures until 6 months ago. Each time had 2 things taking place in my body one a headacheless migraine and very low magnesium. Afte two bads of magnesium bt IV I started improving.
Awesome...spot on...
I agree 💯 percent!
Thank you 💚
Thanks so much for this! 🙏🏾 Started not too long ago with using Mega-Mag drops from Trace Minerals. Do you consider this a good absorbable source for magnesium as well or better to switch to the ones you’ve mentioned? Thanks again! 💜
I do believe that those are ionic minerals from that brand which are amazing. 💚
@@RyanTaylorNaturalRemediesYes indeed ionic. Good to know, then I’ll just keep using them! Thank you! 🙏🏾💜
I’d like to take the threonate, but I’ve taken the glycinate with good results and will be placing another order for the glycinate. Do I also need to order threonate and take in addition, or is it an either/or but not both situation?
What's the best time to take magnesium-slow release...
Very helpful video! And I was impressed that you mention chocolate being high in oxalates. However, you then recommend lots of leafy greens. Spinach and multiple other vegetables are ALSO very high in oxalates. I think its time to start saying eat LOW OXALATE greens of which there are MANY. The salad you described was low oxalate, as were the pumpkin seeds! Just wish you had reinforced that. This is coming from a victim of oxalate overload. Thank you for a very informative video!
I’ve had severe magnesium deficiency so I know even the mildest symptoms such as sudden ringing in one ear that lasts maybe up to 20 seconds, hiccups, itch on my heel that’s very difficult to relieve…I need magnesium stat.
Thank you Ryan for ur wealth of knowledge to keep our bodies healthy. I’ve have learned so much from you. I take many of the supplements you have recommended and doing my best to eat healthy. Organic greens, salmon and grass fed beef are getting harder for me to afford but I do my best👍👍😊🙏
Another excellent Mg supplement is Magnesium Chloride. It has great bio-availabilty and costs only a fraction of the price of Magnesium Glycinate.
Thank you! I get calf muscle cramps at nite.
Thank you I've been taking magnesium for the last 2 months and I feel a lot better
Glad to hear that 💚
Here is a summary of the key points from the video:
- Magnesium deficiency can cause various signs and symptoms like muscle twitches, restless sleep, irritability, heart palpitations, high blood pressure, constipation, bone and joint pain, anxiety, muscle cramps etc.
- Testing magnesium levels through blood tests is not very reliable as only 1% is stored in blood. Symptoms are a better indicator.
- Dietary sources of magnesium include greens, nuts, seeds, yogurt, salmon. Magnesium is found in chlorophyll of plants.
- Reasons for deficiency include eating refined grains, sugars, whole grains high in phytates, too much stress, antacid medications, diuretics, lack of vitamin D, magnesium depleted soils.
- To boost intake, eat more greens daily, take magnesium glycinate supplement, use electrolyte drinks while fasting, avoid depleting foods like junk/refined carbs. Vitamin D and whole food proteins also help.
- Magnesium luonate may be better absorbed in brain for mental benefits. Oxide, sulfate, carbonate, hydroxide types are poorly absorbed forms to avoid.
Ryan, I have a question about Mag Citrate. Can you take Mag Citrate for a long period of time? Thank you in advance ❤
Of course, I take a little citrate everyday for years. 💚
My eye does that not often but has .
how you rid ?
I have everything
Have more than half the symptoms of a deficiency recently. Jeezus. When will I learn?
Osteopenia isn't bone pain, but low bone density of a lesser degree than osteoporosis. See Merriam-Webster "-penia"- deficiency.
Merriam-Webster redefined the word vaccine because they were told to, among other words. See “you’re a communist and I don’t trust Merriam-Webster, FDA, or CDC. All very compromised for a long time.
Thanks so much for information...i know by the signs that i lack magnesium 😱
Would you please do a video on the best times to take VitD3, calcium, magnesium...i have no thyroid... doctors advice to take my thyroid meds in evening because taking in morning makes me tired ..its a mystery how it all works as the women's body changes as we mature..🤔😵💫
Stay safe & well..
Australia 🦘🤩
Me to. Take em at night
When I first went on keto, and intermittent fasting I had several of these side effects, especially the leg cramps omg it was the most painful thing I’ve experienced…. I didn’t know at the time that I needed to supplement with magnesium and other electrolytes… now I take them every day and leg cramps, along with waking up at 3am is gone
I have had every one of these symptoms for some time. Also ridges in my nails but I'm also aging. Started a supplement over a week ago and already my device I use to track sleep, stress, hrv ect has changed tremendously. No difference in bone pain though:( I've always ate tons of greens but guess it's not enough
Moringa Powder is good for bone pain, because it's densely packed with chlorophyll and minerals. 💚
Can to take that if you have osteoporosis??
Osteopenia is NOT bone pain, but low density in bones short of osteoporosis which causes the bones to be brittle and break.
Thank You for that bit of info, Ruth Coates!!! It all helps.
Can taking magnesium drop your blood pressure ? Can you take it with blood pressure medicine?
Any thoughts on Magnesium Malate and Magnesium Taurate? I find that even Mg Glycinate causes loose stool. Trying the find the form that has the least laxative effect.
Thank you Ryan, this is excellent! I've read numerous times that magnesium L-threonate might possibly cause headaches. Could you please share your thoughts on this & the reason why this may be true? I suffer with enough migraines as is, but always wanted to try magnesium L-threonate for cognitive function benefits 😊❤
Try having celery juice to help with migraines....make sure celery iz from a good source, thea4 not sprayed wid chemicals...best to grow your own in healthy soils....cassidy
Hi Allison, the brain sometimes has to adjust for the new higher levels of magnesium, and sometimes this causes a detox effect for a while. But it usually subsides. Start small with the dosage and slowly increase until the body gets used to it. 💚
is oils like olive oil and avocado ok?
Please turn the sound up
I think you need to turn your volume up. 💚
What is the difference between magnesium glycinate and magnesium citrate?
Glycinate is better absorbed and gentler on the stomach.
Thankyou what .t if you feel like you cannt digest it ?? .i am constipated .
My video on constipation should help you, but magnesium itself does usually help with constipation. ruclips.net/video/oHNisrgQwhc/видео.htmlsi=Vm7Nzih-Uxiu0AS4
It really does!!
Although I am not a doctor and cannot give medical advice, after trying different brands and types of magnesium, incl. magnesium glycinate, finally, I seem to be digesting magnesium taurate capsules. Best of luck on your health journey!
Is the 400-800mg per day referring to pure Magnesium or magnesium and carrier combined?
Thanks for your thorough instruction. Magnesium deficiency is the cause of so many of today's chronic conditions including mental health.
You are most welcome, it is a big problem. 💚
Can you advise how much you would expect to get Mg from leafy greens ? According to my search into related sites , lettuce for example should provide a mere 1% of RDA in about 130g of the plant ! In general , the highest concentration of minerals you should find are in nuts , Almonds in particular have very high Mg concentration .
Of course, the regular measurements that they give you are incorrect, because they don't account for the magnesium found at the core of chlorophyl. It's difficult to accurately tell you how much Mg you get from a vegetable, but the more green pigment, the more magnesium. You can also get it as magnesium bicarbonate in mineral water. I don't recommend to many nuts because the oxalates can bind to the minerals and inactivate them.
@@RyanTaylorNaturalRemedies then nuts need to be taken with what neutralizes oxalates in them , for example food rich in Ca , like milk or cheese or any dairy product . Dairy products themselves should be rich in Mg and K . Then nuts themselves have good amount of Ca as part of their nutrients , therefore , that should by itself neutralize oxalates effect . See , mother nature knows better , no offense .
@@anasnaghoj468Thank You very much for this info!!! It is appreciated. Have a good day!
where do ewe get it from ?
Vegetables 💚
I notic those symptom wildly and cardiology doctor give me bisppropol( betabloker) with normal esg and echo i don't see much different which magnesium is good for me??? and size of dosage
Please answer me
Magnesium Glycinate 💚
What for headache pain which magnesium
There are so many magnesium supplements out there, the job is finding the right one for you. I've given up buying them online because I am sure the more expensive brands are often just the cheaper ones masquerading as better-quality ones. They blend extra virgin oil in most cases, so what's stopping them from doing something similar with supplements?
It's difficult to determine the quality of supplements, but I usually choose brands that It rust and have a good long-standing reputation. Making sure that there are minimum bulking agents in the ingredients list, and the right type you are seeking i.e Magnesium Glycinate/Citrate etc.. 💚
Don't know where you're situated but in America there's an excellent mix called Cal- Mag C. It's a balance of Calcium Magnesium and vitamin C in the correct ratios. I'm 70 years now and have been drinking it at least once a day either morning or last thing at night. Sleep like a baby, have all my own teeth, strong bones and thick head of hair. Look it up
Great video. I think I'm magnesium deficient, because I get the occasional 'Charlie horse'.
Lyme spirochetes devour your Magnesium.
Osteopenia is NOT pain in the bones!
How about Magnesium Bisglycinate?
Bisglycinate and glycinate are the same chemically. 💚
Magnesium citrate does help you poop! Magnesium glycinate and magnesium threonate is for nerves and many other needs in the body. It has helped my RLS at does Rx by my neurologist. Dr. Bery eats large green salad daily for magnesium and other needed nutrients!
Doesn’t adding Glycine to NAC help with Glutathione production? That’s my understanding.
Yes, absolutely. 💚
My eyes are always twitching.
Can you take two or three types of magnesium at the same time?
Yes, just don't go over 400mg a day in total, or else you may get diarrhea 💚
400mg every day. Helps keep you regular too.
You can get all the nutrients from meat and fish too. You don’t need to eat foods high in toxins like pesticide’s and glyphosate’s.
Make sure that the animals were eating organic food or they will be consuming glyphosates and pesticides. And the fish should be wild caught or they will have been fed grains and other junk. I like your "name" Christ is King!
While I agree in part, your daily dose does not need to come from plants, there are still toxins to be wary of in fish (mercury, lead, micro plastics & others) & meats ( antibiotics, chemicals in their feed & water). Always be cognizant of everything within the life cycles. Our world is not what we wish it were, nor what we're told it is. Blessings
@@stacec3990Totally agreed!!!
Fish from our waters are not so good anymore. You are what you eat and what they eat?
How much magnesium glycinate in mg is safe? Can you also tell me what tablet I can take for not getting enough vitamin d from the sun. I hardly go in the sun I know my body is lack of vitamin d.
Why just 10 min a day in the sun sooo good for you. And natural government don't want us to know this
Magnesium Oxide is best
Magnesium oxide is quite toxic. I'd avoid it. 💚
Magnesium showed me what life with tolerable levels of anxiety was, where anxiolytics just made me a zombie. I take magnesium citrate but maybe other forms work better for you
Magnesium threonate is the best for anxiety because it penetrates the blood brain barrier, but glycinate is also very good. 💚
What if your leafy greens are grown in magnesium-depleted soil?
Then you really have no option but to supplement, or eat more seafoods.
