    I use the d800 and d610 for photography, mostly weddings.
    I can say that I like the d610 more.
    It has a bit more precise focus and smaller files to work with.
    I have tried many canon dslr in that range and none have raw image quality like d610.
    For that price, that camera is probably the best thing you can buy on a budget for photography.

      Absolutely agree. People dislike the fewer focus points, but for how many you get I did find it to be a tiiiiight focus.

    I still rock with my 2 Nikon D610 's for videos primarily and occasionally photos (bought them from a wedding photographer for an excellent deal) ... Despite I can easily afford to get a D780 there's no point, it's the law of diminishing returns... I probably won't get floored with the D780 quality wise

      My man. Dual weilding the 610s. I imagine you'd have to hump up to the 800 or mirrorless range to notice anything. Speed and pointless (my opinion) features add $$ from 610 to 700 series.

    Hi there. I started my photography 10 years ago, I first bought and used Nikon D3000 then after 1 year, I bought Nikon D90. I used both cameras for my paid photography services and personal use. I really pushed the capabilities and limits of those cameras.. So fast forward to 10 years later, which is this year.. I bought Nikon D610, of course I have or need to upgrade to full frame dslr. My lenses are of course Nikkor 18-55mm kit lens, Nikkor 50mm f1.8D, Nikkor 24-120mm f3.5-5.6, Tokina 28-70mm f2.8 AT-X Pro, and Tamron 70-300mm f4-5.6 with macro. Maybe someday I will buy Nikon D850.. Wide lens and 70-200mm f2.8

    I was into photography for awhile, had the d7000, d3100, and d3000. Sold everything about 5 yrs ago and they same thing happened to me, I got that feeling of missing it, started driving me crazy sometimes, ended up having more free time with nothing really to do, so I ended up with the Nikon D600 which is basically the same as the D610 and I love it.

    I’ve just ordered a Nikon D610 because many reviews say that for its price it is an awesome camera. Now this is eight years after the camera was first brought to market by Nikon so you’d think that it would have been sold out by now. But no!! This thing is still available NEW. Am I interested in 4k video...no. Using it for portrait, am .i going to worry about its centre clustered auto focus and metering whilst using my Sekonic meter, no. For me, this camera has the highest spec sensor and best color science for about $900 USD. That’s a Full Frame camera for a song. Twin SD cards for twenty bucks instead of $200 XQD, for me is the way to go. Do I want to shoot ten frames a second, never. Getting a reputation as a “beginner FF camera” has had many avoid it because of snob value, what is really an excellent camera. The Alabamie Kid

    I got into photography via my young brother he was changing his system to Fuji xt3 and he offered me the Nikon D7200 and a 17- 55 f2.8 DX lens a 12-24mm f4 wide angle-a 18-140 3.5/5.6 a Sigma 105 f28 macro and a nikon 70-300mm f4.5/5.6 VR. 2 Flash guns and triggers.All it cost me is a weeks worth of work decorating a 3 bed flat above his shop which his old tenant trashed. Had to gut everything. but I did not mind as I did it through lockdown here in the UK. I have only used a few of the lenses. Not sorted out which subject to go down as yet so will get used to the kit I have and if I like it,after learning what to do then will think about FX at a later time. Thanks for your video. I totally hear you! I REALLY wanted the D850, but it was just too expensive. I eventually saved up 3K and it was time to chose a camera. I knew I wanted a full frame, but the D610 was sold out on Nikon's website and all the other online deals weren't as good. Eventually, I settled on the D500 with the kit lens, and had money left over to get two more new lenses to go with it. I gradually got a few used lenses, a battery grip, changed out the optical viewfinder for a magnified version and got the better rubber eye piece. I love the D500 with it's speed and amazing low-light performance......but I am still hungering for full frame :(. There is a store near me that has a used D610 for $600 (tax included.) I am not sure what the condition is....but I am itching to get it.....

    The D610 and the Df are my favorite Nikon DSLR's. What many people miss when looking for a new camera, is the difference between using one, and shopping for one. There's a huge disparity between internet shopping and using a camera in real life. The D610 appears middle of the road and bland when shopping online, let's face it, but when you use one it's a completely different story. From the feel of the grip, the big viewfinder, the solidity, the surprisingly quick and accurate autofocus, to the gorgeous files, it just starts to really impress you. It's just the right size, heft, price, and sweet spot in performance. I've used it for action, landscape, low light work, and it always comes through. Spec hunting leads you to a cliff every time, using a camera is the only way to know if you'll like it or not, price has nothing to do with it.

Now I’ve shot with the D810 & D850; granted they are amazing camera bodies but I haven’t needed to upgrade even to the mirrorless nikons yet. But as long as I can still use my lenses, I’m good. I have 95% Nikon lenses with the one exception, I have the Tamron 24-70mm f2.8 first version lens and it’s glass still kicks butt! But I love my Nikon 24& 85 f1.4’s. And I have had my 70-200 forever. Wishing you the very best of luck with your photography .

    I got a d610 for the low entry price into full-frame, and I find it lacks nothing in functionality when paired with the right lenses. I'm glad Nikon is keeping the F-mount relevant with the d780, that will be my next upgrade. I agree that Nikon’s images are second to none. I had the D90 which was awesome for a DX camera. I switched up to a D7100 and finally I settled full frame with the D780. Pricey, but it fit my needs perfectly. As far as mirrorless, there really don’t have any earth shaking advantages over a DSLR. They are battery hogs, if anything. The D780 battery lasts over 2k exposures vs. mirrorless at a few hundred exposures per battery. With a great lens, Nikon is hard to beat.

      I disagree with the color comment personally, which is fine because it’s all subjective, but One thing I do appreciate about canon is how well they listen to feed back and innovate accordingly. Nikon on the other hand, it’s what THEY believe. Haha super traditionalist. Thanks for commenting.

    Am currently using the d610 but am struggling using it.. especially with the full frame. What lens are you using with yours. Am using a 35mm prime lens with mine because is what I could afford to get for now...

    • @ZWadePhoto
      @ZWadePhoto  Год назад +1

      I look and see if you actually have the 35mm Dx. Which is a crop sensor lens.
      If so, you’ll have a dark circle around every image. What you want is the D series
      www.keh.com/shop/nikon-nikkor-35mm-f-2d-af-wide-angle-lens.html
      It’s a full frame lens. Super cheap and a real damn good lens

    Do you shoot any astro with it? I too don't care or need nor will use anything the d750 has for features over the D610 but I'm trying to figure out if they'd both shoot the Milky Way at the same quality level or not.

    Many portrait and boudoir photographers don't use ultra-sharp mirrorless cameras and lenses. Instead, they use DSLRs or, in extreme cases, film. This saves time during post-production when smoothing the skin among other things.
    Here's the bottom line: Many photographers who used to do their own retouching can't do it anymore because they don't have the skills to deal with today's mirrorless cameras' ultra-sharpness and high megapixel resolution sensors. This means that photographers have to pay for an editor, which cuts into their profits. This is why so many people are going back to DSLR cameras. At the end of the day, it's all about making money, and no one wants to give that up, especially given the economic hardships photographers had to go through during the lockdown.

    I found one with over 1 million shutter actuations. Should i get it? And im not joking. Apparently it was used in a factory, so thats why its so high. Normally, they would use the camera to shoot several images of each products, amounting to thousands of images per day.

    So don't give up your photography, but please DO give up the rude language. It is entirely unprofessional and I make decisions on who I work with based on whether I can stand to be around them. Bad language is like a loud huge stinky gas cloud coming from someone. Best to not just repress the language, but use nicer words to convey your meaning. It may also make you look more intelligent.

    • @ZWadePhoto
      @ZWadePhoto  2 года назад +2

      I only use such language when shop talking which is what much of my old content was, not while at work in the field. None the less I invite you to check out my newer content, which meets your desires. this is old content, that I keep up because most people don’t mind the language. I cleaned up on my own desire.
