  • I enjoy getting grease to moving parts. This should be available from the factory in my opinion.

    Ok,,Harry. You and I can be best friends. I can see you know your S#$T......anyhow,,in my 58 years,,I have learned many tricks growing up in my dad's auto shop,,swinging engines at 13 years old with my dad. Always LOVED tinkering and building and trying to make things work better. Sometimes my ideas worked and sometimes we crapped out. Oh well. Love THIS idea,,especially how you cross drilled those bolts. I think we'd be GREAT NEIGHBORS. Awesome idea,,,sir. Keep them coming. I like to watch videos of guys who KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING!!!!!!!

      Frank Castronuovo thanks for appreciating my idea. The owner of super split wasn’t on board as you but I was always told you can’t wear out a machine that makes its own oil. Getting grease to bearings is a no brainer to me but strength and clearance are something to consider. I’ve been around almost as long as you but I’m terribly ignorant when it comes to engines but mechanics I understand. Thanks again for the vote of confidence in being neighbors. Mechanical minds usually get along well. Take care and buy one of these machines, they are fun.

      @@haroldanderson2781 I am considering the purchase of one. I'm on Long Island in NY. Decent size property 250x400. Get whole 12ft logs delivered local. Some tree services will gladly drop them off for free so as not to have to take them back to their yard,,unload them,,split,cut and season them and hope they can sell it all. It's a special breed that heat with wood. Let's face it,,,,,it's work!!. I have had 2 wood stoves for years and heat with wood ONLY. I have a furnace,,but it's NEVER on. We also have 38 solar panels,,,so I don't have an electric bill either. Just 60 dollars per month note on solar panels. 10k down,,fiance balance. Battery bank in my basement. My buddies and my kids friends call me mad mechanic. I fix things for all my neighbors. Anyway,,I have a 28 ton Troy-Bilt hydraulic splitter. Really powerful,,,but kinda slow cycle times. Been watching kinetic splitter videos and YOUR knowledge impressed me the most. I'm just worried they won't handle 14 inch diameter green wood. What are your thoughts

      Back In The Woods I found replacement bearings locally and replaced all of them and kept my stock ones for backups. I haven’t had any issues since getting grease in them and I store my splitter outside. If you want to know more you can call. 231-638-0832. Thanks: HaroldAnderson

    Buying the HD this week. Just getting a hold of Paul or Connor to make sure I know more about the Hitch. With that Motor so high I might want to move it lower.
    Would like any help you can give for the Cam's and side table. I'm a lefty so I need to run it first and see the side I like to stand on more.
    Thanks again for the videos!
    Phil

      Phil Muller the hitch and side table are not factory. I built the hitch and the table was built by a local sheet metal shop and I attached it.

    I came across this a few years ago, and am seeing that you are making these still, as of 5 months ago. Are you still making them?

    I just ordered a supersplit HD electric. I've never used one yet or even saw one. I like your idea on the lubrication of the bearings. What are you charging for the upgrade kit? In case I decide to upgrade mine after I get it.

    • @haroldanderson2781
      @haroldanderson2781  8 лет назад

      +Ozarkshunter If you send me the bars that hold the cam followers I will machine them and send them back with the proper bolts that take grease. I upgraded them to grade 8 bolts. Total cost for you would be $60.00 plus my shipping cost to get the parts back to you.

    • @Ozarkshunter
      @Ozarkshunter 8 лет назад

      +Harold Anderson Ok, thank you. Mine is on order, cant wait for it to get here so I can use it. I will keep this in mind, the only problem is having the machine shut down while these are made, maybe the spring after I get some use on it. Thanks.

    • @haroldanderson2781
      @haroldanderson2781  8 лет назад

      +Ozarkshunter You can also decide to have me ship you extra rails that are counter bored for the zert fitting and head of the bolt. Then you can keep your stock ones if you want. That cost would be $200.

    I want to buy a super split...my father in law has a hydraulic splitter and he spends entire days doing it...I'd like to get one to help him out mainly. Could you make those for me when I get it?

    • @haroldanderson2781
      @haroldanderson2781  8 лет назад

      You will find that the old mans hydraulic still will be a compliment to the SS. Especially if it goes vertical to get the huge pieces to a manageable size. I'm a small built guy and haven't been disappointed with this technology and I've had mine for 5 years. You will run circles around that other machine. It's hard to find help to keep wood coming and to get the wood away from the SS. I opted for the heavy duty model with the production table. I have rails made on the shelf or I can revamp yours.

      I got a set of rails and bolts for my SSHD about two years ago from Harold. Worth every penny and now I can grease the bearings (cam followers) under the ram. I was a little hesitant at first but Harold proved to be an honest guy. He helped me and I know he can help you, too. He also included an extra bolt with grease fitting for applying grease to the bearings on the top of the ram. You will have to disassemble the mechanism but that is a simple procedure.

      +Ashley Costa Send me your rails and I will machine them and send them back with grade 8 bolts that takes grease from the head of the bolt to the center of your bearing. Cost is $60.00 plus shipping back to you.
