My production line with family. HD model wood splitter. Kinetic log splitter.
Are you still making these roller upgrades available? I’m interested in a set if yes.
@@cutNdryfirewood yes I do. You can contact me at doghoyt@yahoo.com or 231-638-0832.
Looks great Harold! I’ve done this with straight used motor oil but I like how you mixed it with diesel!! Seems to work better
It really seeped in well. I was amazed. Thanks for commenting Jacob!!
THE Harold Anderson returns! I will need to do this or something similar when I get the new decking put on my 24’ equipment trailer. Tim in Oneida
If you use new treated lumber it’s best to let it dry for a couple of years before treating. Thanks for commenting Tim!
@@haroldanderson2781 fortunately I do have treated lumber that has been stacked for a couple of years. Tim
Awesome!! Very clever idea!!
Thanks dude.
@@haroldanderson2781 I can’t find your email. I even looked in my junk folder. You mind trying again, or I can email you. Thanks
Ouch! Word to the wise!! Stitches?
Yes. 9.
@@haroldanderson2781 thanks for the real situation warning.
Would like to see more details on the zerk fitting and its orientation with the bolt. Just can,t visualize exactly what you did. Need to see more. Great idea though.
Email me your phone number at Doghoyt@yahoo.com and I’ll send you some pictures.
Do you have an improvement to the return Springs? My SS is a year old (35 to 40) cord and is on third set of springs.
I’m sorry no. Have you tried calling Paul at Supersplit? Those guys have a lot of answers.
The table of this machine makes it
Thanks for the information.
Thanks for the info! Hope you had a full recovery.
Other than being a bit stiff I’m good. Thanks.
Sorry for your accident, hope you are okay. Great post
Thanks. Stretching it every day on my commute. Good lesson without loosing digits!
Wow glad you are ok relatively speaking
Thank you
Thanks
Nice add. #slackoutdooors
I like it & will impliment on my when I get it #slackoutdoors
New Sub here. Thanks for the warning and hopefully you heal fully #slackoutdoors
I did heal fully, thanks. Those machines are awesome!!
Yeah, you could do that for a lot of tools that need to have little tools kept nearby. Good thinking.
Thanks!
Mashallah so excellent
I came across this a few years ago, and am seeing that you are making these still, as of 5 months ago. Are you still making them?
Yes sir!!
Thanks for the tip! Been running super splits for about 10 years now never had that happen but wouldn't have guessed it would engage doing that.
Nice sharing
This should be the first video when you search Super splitter. Great insight & very helpful because that would be your first instinct to just lift up the stuck log👍
Thanks Ray. It’s hard to force yourself to shut it off because we are all in a hurry to get the job done. The very reason why we bought the Supersplit is because of its efficiency in getting the job done.
Ouch!
I agree. Still have to stretch it daily to keep it limber.
@@haroldanderson2781 I had no idea it could do that. I’m not gonna let it happen to me.
hey harold, thanks for your videos. I just acquired an older super split and cannot find where to replace the belt even on SS's website. Am I missing something?
I don’t know. I haven’t visited that site in quite a while. How about taking a rope and putting it in the place if the v-belt to get a measurement? Otherwise call Supersplit tomorrow and describe what machine you have to Paul or Connor. They know these things inside and out and should be able to help.
I have an issue with mine. When I engage the rack, the moment it hits a round it stops. Any clue of why this is? Thanks!
Does the engine quit or does it completely stall the flywheels?
@@haroldanderson2781 the engine doesn’t stall out and the fly wheels keep turning as well.
@@haroldanderson2781 and the rack is making full contact with the pinion gear as I lift the handle. The rollers are moving freely. Just for the heck of it, I put a 2x4 in the path and it too stopped the rack. The slightest pressure on an object stops the rack
@@lawnman1734 without seeing a video of it failing it’s hard to determine what is going on. Have you tried calling Supersplit? They are very helpful and know those machines inside and out.
@@haroldanderson2781 I’d like to send a video but not sure how to do it via RUclips. And yes, I will be calling Paul on Monday. This just happened today and trying to troubleshoot with some owners here on RUclips.
I didn't know it could do that.......... Excellent video thank you !
You’re welcome. Make sure you shut it off when in doubt. It’s not worth the risk of stitches and loosing out on splitting for a couple of weeks.
@@haroldanderson2781 Your'e extremely lucky to have your hand ! These splitters are great but I think they have an element of danger that the slower hydraulic splitters don't have. Thanks again for the great video !
Thanks for the warning…. Take care…
Im having nothing but troubles with my slide, do you sell these upgrades ? Id be interested if you do...Im finished trying to explain to the company the troubles im having.
I do sell the upgraded rails with matching bolts. Email me at doghoyt@yahoo or give me a call. 231-638-0832. Thanks.
I got a set of rails and bolts for my SSHD about two years ago from Harold. Worth every penny and now I can grease the bearings (cam followers) under the ram. I was a little hesitant at first but Harold proved to be an honest guy. He helped me and I know he can help you, too. He also included an extra bolt with grease fitting for applying grease to the bearings on the top of the ram. You will have to disassemble the mechanism but that is a simple procedure.
Excellent work, Harold! Thanks for the great tip.
Almost anything for you senior Jack.
Any chance you're making these still? I got my SS a few weeks ago and only able to use it a couple times but if you make these would like to get a set made.
Yes I still make these. Please call 231-638-0832 for discussing details. Thanks: Harold.
great video !
GREAT VIDEO ! THANKS FOR MAKING IT !
Thanks for the warning.
Double BOOM! Good idea, do the magnets have to be red to work right? HAAAA!
Only if you have a super split
0:56 Boom! Clean idea thanks.
That’s a great idea. I like to keep a 9/16” wrench or socket handy as well to loosen and tighten the carriage.
Glad your injury wasn’t too bad. They really are great machines.
That could have been horrible! Great advice. We follow Hometown Acres and found your channel from a comment you left over there. We'd really appreciate if you'd give our channel a look if you're not already following us. Thanks! We live in Northwest PA, not far from Hometown Acres.
It was pretty bad. 13 stitches but kept all my digits. Lessons learned. Thanks for watching and I just subscribed to your channel and will check it out when I get some time. Thanks
@@haroldanderson2781 Glad you ended up okay. Thanks for checking out our channel! We used to have a wood shop teacher with 9 fingers, he'd say "90% accuracy always sounds pretty good, until you put it into practice." and he'd hold up his 9 digits.
Getting a Super Split.. could you make me a set of these? Might as well upgrade when it comes! tjhanlon67@gmail.com if you could reach out to me
I sent you a reply. Hope I got your email address correct.
Hello Harold, love the idea. Would a larger hole in the bolt help with more grease or is the size shown the best? I would like you to email me at: wilensky2010@q.com. Please let me know cost, shipping cost to Colorado zip 80026, lead time before shipping, and how to complete the order. I am currently getting ready to order my machine and would like to install these right from the start. Thanks, Michael
How much did it cost to have the catch table modified? Thanks
I had all the support materials. I had a local sheet metal shop supply and bend the top piece for $75.
Nice!
That machine needs a way to disengage the the gears Think garage door opener track with that chain hanging down
Or just shut it off?
Are you still selling these?
Yes I am. Contact me at Doghoyt@yahoo.com or text me at 2316380832
this is why i got the splitsec one and not this superslit
What gives the split second more of an advantage to eliminate that chance?
The wood splitter has a 33 inch splitting table with a lift on the side for heavy logs and the whole wood splitter can be adjusted to your height unfortunately they discontinued this model
@@ramrod0304 So what does that have to do with Harold's question?
I have a buddy who has a Split Second and the same thing happened to him when he was operating his as Harold explained in his video. So yes, what is the relevancy in your comment?
The difference between this machine and a split second one is that this one doesn't have a safety handle so when this happens you don't have to shut it off with the split second because of the safety it will not allow it to engage it in which that is why I chose split second machine because of the safety options which it doesn't matter anyways because they discontinued that machine based on the fact that it was too high of a price
Howdy Harold. I'm so glad it wasn't worse. As we talked about, the machine was just doing what it was told to do. I learned this lesson, too, and from that point I shut down the engine to remove stuck pieces from the ram. I wish we had this conversation before the incident. Thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery.
I will remember that one Hope all is well
Thats awful Harold. How much end play is there with the bearings to allow the rack to move into the pinion? Hope u get thru this ok! Joe
I don’t remember, it happened very quickly. I didn’t expect the machine to engage without using the handle.
Never had that happen in 11 years. Try to sort wood so it is straight and knot free when using machine. Also turn down throttle when things get jammed up. Glad your ok Never used crow bars to peel wood away from the splitter. Guess I have clean logs. Lol
Well I had my first one freeze up. How did your fix work? Are you making these for people? Thanks for the videos I appreciate them.
Back In The Woods I found replacement bearings locally and replaced all of them and kept my stock ones for backups. I haven’t had any issues since getting grease in them and I store my splitter outside. If you want to know more you can call. 231-638-0832. Thanks: HaroldAnderson
At 1:35 you pushed that far piece right into the family jewels LOL
Did you hardface your ram or did it come that way. Because if you did it yourself,,it's obvious to me you've been around a while. Most people,,outside of heavy equipment mechanics or caterpillar mechanics-welders-technicians even understand the purpose of hardfacing. Again,,,as I commented in your other video,,,it's GREAT to see guys who KNOW wtf they're doing. Great video,,sir. Keep them coming
Frank Castronuovo the hard facing came from the factory. This is a great machine and is worth it weight in gold if you split much wood. Thanks for the compliment.
Harold Anderson I’m interested. How do I get in touch with you?
