    I have a Jr. model that was made in the late 70's. Still going good, easy to maintain, easy to fix. Best wood splitting machine out there.

    I love my super splitter but I’m out growing it last 4 years I’ve grown from 50 cord to 600 cords a year. It’s a great machine and this video is spot on with maintenance. I’ll be Keeping a super splitter while I move on to a multiteck processor for any odd and ends

    Thanks a lot for the video. I have an older model that is very low to the ground. So hard on my lower back i only use it to split the big ones in half and do the rest with the axe. hehe!

    This is definitely on my list soon as I get the trailer sorted. Just can't decide on a brand. Until then I have the old trusty maul, and I'm putting together a manual splitter, one of those russian long arm pull down types. I won't be splitting 100 cords with it a year but it'll keep me busy for now.

    I've split hundreds of face cords here in Canada,even lent out my splitter,you guyz all know people love to borrow your splitter,its a hydraulic cub cadet,and its at least 20 years old,replaced 1 hyd. hose.its not kinetic fast,but it definitely has been good to me.Always stored indoors also.These machines look maintenance intensive.

      @splittinnstuff6571  5 лет назад +1

      Na, they are super maintenance free really. The only reason why this one has some issues is because it is so old, and has done so many cords in its lifetime(3-5k true cords is an estimate) We always cobble it back together with used parts also haha. My newer hd model hasn't had a single issue in the last 2-300 bush cords also

    Interesting video. I have a friend who has one of these and he loves it. I have an old-school big-ass hydraulic that's 25 years old and still going strong. I'm afraid that if I use my buddy's splitter that I'll have to go buy one of my own! Oh well...
    Just subscribed. Keep on splitting!

    I've watched a lot of videos about various wood splitters of all kinds, and the type I'm leaning towards the most are these "kenetic" type log splitters. The one thing I still haven't been able to see very well is how the rack & pinion stay engaged once the lever is pushed down, lifted, moved forward/back,...etc (depending on which type). I can see that there is a spring to lift the rack once the stroke is done, but not how the rack stays on the pinion gear during the stroke. Any info from you or fellow youtubers would be great.
    Thanks for the video

    • @splittinnstuff6571

      The handle pushes the bearings down that pushes the rack down. Generally it will stay engaged until fully extended. The shaft that I talk about in the video that busts sometimes is what handles most of the force of holding the rack down

      Rodney Elmer & Mountain Deer Taxidermy if you have the money to put out, I would recommend them for sure. They have a solid resale value too if you ever need to get your money back out. Thanks for watching!

    • @splittinnstuff6571
      @splittinnstuff6571  3 года назад +1

      I'm sure it could, but I would personally go with th HD if it was me. Not much more weight in moving the machine, but seems to do alittle better with knots. Either way, I don't see you going wrong

    Any idea on why a kinetic log splitter will stall out completely when it doesn't break through a log?

    • @splittinnstuff6571
      @splittinnstuff6571  5 лет назад

      The log basically absorbs all of the kinetic energy of the flywheels. The power doesn't come directly from the engine, but from the flywheels as well.

      @@splittinnstuff6571 This is what mine is doing if it hits a knot even on a small log. It's frustrating. Any idea on how to fix this? I don't think i have seen another kinetic log splitter do this.
