This song holds a deep significance for me. My father and I were sketching together in a forest while listening to Bob Dylan, and he turned to me and said, 'This is your song, Heather Feather.' He passed away just a few weeks later, and I feel an enduring sense of loss. He was not only my father but my best friend, and I miss him profoundly. Bob Dylan is so fabulous in his own way of singing to his. audience. With guitar and harmonica, ( does he have the harmonica holder trademarked, by chance?) he plays with such contentment, in this song. I am a conservator, and so related very well to this wonderful piece of music. A great song! Describes several women I've known. An easy way to make a song longer is to repeat every other line twice. I saw a number of great concerts at Birmingham Town Hall. The acoustics were superb. I missed this particular concert. Tickets for Dylan were almost impossible to obtain.

The first rapper, this song is clearly about a "Bad bit*h".
