Dear Mr. Pig,this young man could show Ol' Blue Eyes a thing or two about phrasing & stage presence. I think Bob came down in a blindin' shaft of light! And you sir have lit up my life.thankyou from the bottom of my heart.
Happy 79 Birthday, my dear sweet magnificent heart friend, soulmate and life companion. I deeply love you from here to the whole universe. Every time I hear you sing I gaze upon the chimes of freedom flashing! Thank you for EVERYTHING, Bob!
I was in the audience at Birmingham Town Hall for this concert. At one point we noticed a figure standing in the shadows at the end of our row of seats, watching the stage. It was Joan Baez.
That harmonica! Oh my Bobby could bring these songs into existence on stage, just sheer performance art. Terrific footage Swingin. I know it takes time to pull it all together so thank you for doing it~ 💖
@Olive Eisner of course just a year later in 1966 , the year of his majestic best , his harmonica bending and shaping had reached the realms of cosmic otherworldly -ness.
Egyptian red ring. I like the inclusion of the word "red" in this live version. Such a nice little detail, the word is absent in the album original recording.
@@jayraskin thank you. Yes I agree, and also at this point it becomes black-and-white. I mean, if the Man says it is red, it's supposed to be red. Without hearing this version, it was up to our imagination what color the mysterious ring may be. I like when things are clear and simple sometimes, although I love using my imagination, too.
Bob Dylan is so fabulous in his own way of singing to his. audience. With guitar and harmonica, ( does he have the harmonica holder trademarked, by chance?) he plays with such contentment, in this song. I am a conservator, and so related very well to this wonderful piece of music. I clean the darkness away and show the light of the original intent; just as Bob dies as he’s on stage solo, playing the music he composed with such ease. 🎶🎼🎵. Thank you Bob, Well Done 🎶
A great song! Describes several women I've known. An easy way to make a song longer is to repeat every other line twice. I saw a number of great concerts at Birmingham Town Hall. The acoustics were superb. I missed this particular concert. Tickets for Dylan were almost impossible to obtain.
Thanks so much for posting. My interest in all things Bob Dylan and friends started after watching DA Pennebaker's documentary "Don't Look Back" on TV before any videos on the Internet. Never knew where the title came from and wasn't aware of this song. Bob could do a Woody Guthrie sound like no one else!
You did excellently in rerecording "She Belongs to Me." I wish a lot of Dylan's live versions sounded as clear as this song does. You did wonderful work on this song. My hat is off to you.

I saw Bob perform in February 1966 at the Long Island Garden Arena. He did the same set as the recordings from Royal Albert Hall and Manchester in May of 1966. The sound of the electric set was often chaotic as the place has terrible acoustics and was very echo plagued. The acoustic set though was perfect. Bob knew his songs well before he was singing and he paid with courage.
"She never stumbles, she's got no place to fall" -- pure poetry that says a lot in a few words.
My favorite lyric as well. I have known some of these, not all female.

The pure balls of this, just to stand there in a spotlight and deliver such simple beauty.
When Bob talks and sings people listen. Very few people can attain to that. What a legend and gift to society.
